Next time you catch burbot, cut around the head, then use pliers to pull the skin right off. Best and easiest way to clean them 😊😊. These are my waters, I guide for burbot, trout (and whitefish occasionally). Glad you found the bay successful it’s not easy fishing 🎣
Kyle, that "whitefish" you caught on the castmaster, it was a lake herring or cisco. You're from the Traverse area (where they've been catching lot of ciso lately), I'm really surprised you missed it.
Yeah, I bought what I thought was a Whitefish and it was a cisco. At the store which will not be mentioned. Totally different taste and texture. I was disappointed.
My cousin lives near the lake... She has always loved the far north... She loves ice fishing & snow mobiling. Her dad , my uncle, is full blooded Cherokee Indian . She has the skin tone of Native Americans but big beautiful blue eyes... Even when we were small growing up in the upper p in Michigan , she was as tough as the boys ... I moved to Tx many yrs ago , but she loves the water & snow...

Awesome vid. I absolutely love burbot they are a Riot to catch an amazing to eat. I like them best breaded and fried up just like you would walleye or perch etc. I figure they're as good or better than Walleye like that way.

You can also add a lil 7 up to the boiling water for burbot, pike tastes great like that too.

I wasn't trying to be critical. I know mistakes happen👍. I like lake herring about as much as I like whitefish...both are good.

Here it's tube jigs tipped with smelt or buzz bombs for Lakers. Maggots wire worms for whitefish
