Ive got both the s9 plus and the XR. In terms of speakers the iPhone XR definitely has the upper hand. No discussion. Storage is 64gb so... yeah. But I got an o2 free contract 20gb and I don’t need to store music onto my phone. Same goes to photos (google photo). Ram is not important because iOS is so well optimized. I have never experienced any stutterng. Battery life sux on the s9 Plus; Software issues on Samsung are still present... over a night I’ve only lost like 3 percent of battery on the iPhone compared to 30 on the Samsung.... like wtf?!?! iPhone XR just costs now 600 euro NEW. So the s10e is more expensive right now. Maybe I’m missing the wide angle of my LG G6 but whatever. Open source is a k.o. Criterium for the iPhone.... I mean I love gaming. The gpu is much stronger on the XR compared to the s10 exynos gpu (Europe). Samsung once had the upper hand with its exynos but the times are gone. The snapdragon variant is just multiple times better. I love gaiming. And I love emulators. And I still love APKs.... But the XR is more stable in terms of price.
Low light performance on the XR is a little worse though... :-( And in comb with the manual mode you could produce very bright pics with the help of a tripod!!!

The S10e seems to have more hardware in a smaller body (bigger battery, more cameras, headphone plug). Does this mean that the XR could have easily fit a bigger battery or is the LCD screen taking up more space?
LCD panels take up more space because the layers that make up the display aren't as tightly packed together as most SAMOLED displays. In a way, Apple still has no excuse to remove the headphone jack regardless of any concerns about space because we all know that it's heavily driven by their desire to push wireless audio to market, as well as the added benefit of extra royalty money since manufacturers can only make audio related iPhone accessories using the Lightning port.

Everybody say at the end that if you are in apple eco system buy 10r. Is that the only reason to buy apple now? Clearly Samsung is better than apple. And it's really not that difficult to get out of apple eco system. I did it. Most of the tech RUclipsrs did it.
It's not difficult to get out of it per se, but obviously those who have spent lots of money in this ecosystem cannot get it back and lose it all if the decide to make the move. This is when they install apps/games, buy music on iTunes etc. so moving stuff is easy, but you have to rebuild your library of potentially $100s in value. It's easier now what with Apple Music for example, but still lots can be lost making the move. It's worth it in my opinion tho :)

I mean the differences between the hardware on the phones are pretty small to the point that software is pretty much the most noticeable difference for the average user. If I were to pick up an s10e and compare it directly to the XR I would be more likely to notice the differences in software than I would be to notice the display differences or the difference in ram

Watching from iPhone XR, it’s amazing. The battery consistently gives me 12+ hours of screen on time, amazing performance, great screen definitely the best LCD of all time.

s10e had better specs in all the main comparison features in the video! 10 reasons: -better water restistance -more colors - much better screen (pixels and ppi) -more ram storage -expandable storage - much better rear and front camera (better aperature and mp) - better features like power sharing, ultrasonic in display sensor, one ui, etc. -more battery - headphone jack -cheaper s10e is the obvious winner.

I own the S10e, and friend has the XR. Honestly, only reason to go for the XR is the iOS, if you prefer it over Android. And maybe, the other reason would be longer OS support. S10e got android 12, wont get newer, but will work till 2025 easy. S10e had been and still is cheaper, both in stores (if you can find it) and second hand. It has also stereo speakers like the XR, but also a 3.5mm jack. It has IP68 too, but also OLED. If one knows what OLED and what IPS is, then nobody can argue about how FAR BETTER the screen on the S10e is. The speakers on the S10e are also, at least to my ears, better. If nothing else, more depth. Other things, that make S10e the better choice, are weight 150g vs 194g, its thinner, has smaller bezels, less obtrusive notch/punch hole, USB-C, FM radio, microSD slot, dual sim....
the best thing about iphones is the OS and how smooth and well optimized it is. but other than that, there nothing much special to it to justify the massive price tag. i know yall will say the S10 costs more than 1k but remmember, u get 128gb as standard and a whole bunch of other stuff

s10e is my favorite, it looks amazing, but there are things that mostly just affect me. the amoled/any oled device, oled really strains my eyes honestly, while yes, i would love hdr, i used the xr in store and while the white colors aren't that accurate, i don't really feel thatll bother me when playing games, taking photos and etc. iPhones also have much better optimization than android for apps such as Snapchat, snow, and etc. They're much smoother and more made to be used on iPhones. iPhones are just so simplistice they're more my style, yes customizing is an option, but I don't customize much, and I prefer to be comfortable with it out of the box. I've been an Android user for so long, I had the SE for about half a year and I absolutely loved how simple everything was. Headphone jacks don't really bother me, I use wireless most of the time. Overall, no hate against android, I love Samsung, but I think it's time for me to make a switch, Android's cause me headaches because sometimes things or apps just don't work. Apps and games also come out earlier on iPhone so I love that.

The display is worse on the iPhone XR. But not organic displays don’t degrade over time and I want to keep the phone for years.

Everybody say at the end that if you are in apple eco system buy 10r. Is that the only reason to buy apple now? Clearly Samsung is better than apple. And it's really not that difficult to get out of apple eco system. I did it. Most of the tech RUclipsrs did it.
It's not difficult to get out of it per se, but obviously those who have spent lots of money in this ecosystem cannot get it back and lose it all if the decide to make the move. This is when they install apps/games, buy music on iTunes etc. so moving stuff is easy, but you have to rebuild your library of potentially $100s in value. It's easier now what with Apple Music for example, but still lots can be lost making the move.
It's worth it in my opinion tho :)

I mean the differences between the hardware on the phones are pretty small to the point that software is pretty much the most noticeable difference for the average user. If I were to pick up an s10e and compare it directly to the XR I would be more likely to notice the differences in software than I would be to notice the display differences or the difference in ram

I think the Samsung wins this, it's a better "smaller, cheaper high end" phone that just offers more to the general consumer. The only reason to choose the Apple is if you want to enter that Apple ecosystem - which is fair enough if that's your preference.

The battery consistently gives me 12+ hours of screen on time, amazing performance, great screen definitely the best LCD of all time.
But still not even in the same ball park as Samsung's oleds... even their old hdr ones on the s8.

If you are, good for you, but my main reason for switching away from android was because I never found myself taking advantage of ANY exclusive feature android has over iOS except for Picture in Picture, which iOS is getting with iOS 14. So I have absolutely no reason to be on android anymore.

- much better screen (pixels and ppi)

I own the S10e, and friend has the XR. Honestly, only reason to go for the XR is the iOS, if you prefer it over Android. And maybe, the other reason would be longer OS support. S10e got android 12, wont get newer, but will work till 2025 easy.
S10e had been and still is cheaper, both in stores (if you can find it) and second hand. It has also stereo speakers like the XR, but also a 3.5mm jack. It has IP68 too, but also OLED. If one knows what OLED and what IPS is, then nobody can argue about how FAR BETTER the screen on the S10e is. The speakers on the S10e are also, at least to my ears, better. If nothing else, more depth.
Other things, that make S10e the better choice, are weight 150g vs 194g, its thinner, has smaller bezels, less obtrusive notch/punch hole, USB-C, FM radio, microSD slot, dual sim....

s10e is my favorite, it looks amazing, but there are things that mostly just affect me.
the amoled/any oled device, oled really strains my eyes honestly, while yes, i would love hdr, i used the xr in store and while the white colors aren't that accurate, i don't really feel thatll bother me when playing games, taking photos and etc.
iPhones also have much better optimization than android for apps such as Snapchat, snow, and etc. They're much smoother and more made to be used on iPhones.
iPhones are just so simplistice they're more my style, yes customizing is an option, but I don't customize much, and I prefer to be comfortable with it out of the box.
I've been an Android user for so long, I had the SE for about half a year and I absolutely loved how simple everything was.
Headphone jacks don't really bother me, I use wireless most of the time.
Overall, no hate against android, I love Samsung, but I think it's time for me to make a switch, Android's cause me headaches because sometimes things or apps just don't work. Apps and games also come out earlier on iPhone so I love that.
