I was a Marine in the SA Navy and spent 2 months in Richmond in the mid 80s keeping the peace between the warring ANC factions, Cele was definitely part of the problem and was never part of the solution, we saved countless peoples lives and prevented many necklaceings. The politicians and ministers must stop using how they struggled in the past, well we all struggled. We have serious problems in our lives and in this country. The crux of the matter is what are they doing now to fix this country's mess they in the first place created. Nobody besides them are to be blamed. If they claim that they were struggle heroes then , then what stops them from being heroes now to fix this problem. The way he spoke to Ian was very disrespectful, Cele and his department knows they have failed to stop the ever spiraling crimes in this country.

Bheki Cele played an incredible role ending the suffering of people in Richmond at the peak of apartheid and political tensions. To see him get so removed from reality is sad... And the same goes for a lot of ANC politicians. Now there's Ian and Nhlanhla Lux doing what police should do...
I was a Marine in the SA Navy and spent 2 months in Richmond in the mid 80s keeping the peace between the warring ANC factions, Cele was definitely part of the problem and was never part of the solution, we saved countless peoples lives and prevented many necklaceings. Our peacekeeping role was and still is grossly misunderstood.

I love what Ian did which is stating the truth, really Minister Bheki Cele is only a minister by title and not his work, he knows nothing about the community and its issues and Ian was brave enough to actually say it.
