This has to be my favorite bedrock feature. It's so goofy to basically roid up your horses and making them breed until you get a horse capable of breaking the sound barrier XD
It's same in java as I understand. As well as that I think you can use a splash speed potion when the horses breed and it applies the speed to the baby
@@eylookvulheimiik7538 I'm pretty sure they patched that, unfortunately. So if you've made some super speed horses you can keep them, but you won't be getting more

9:55 fun fact: this IS actually how it works in real life, at least for some animals. In snake breeding it's called power feeding and gets the snake to breeding size faster but reduces their life span significantly.
I don't know if it's the same with all other animals but snake breeding is what I know lol.

Edit: to put it in perspective, it’s a little bit faster than an elytra spamming rockets

I got lazy and with first gen gave both parents speed level 255 and bred them. now for jump boost
You're lucky. In Java, the potion bug doesn't exist. I had to figure that out the hard way...
Instead of using a block of hay to speed up growth, you can use a piece of sugar. If I remember it’s around 40 to fully grow a horse

I’ve got a horse that’s a little faster without speed 2 than yours is with it. He’s totally glitched I don’t understand lol
He’s completely immortal, he once fell into lava and stayed there for awhile and did not even take a single hit. I think he’s got a decent jump, not crazy or anything
Sometimes he randomly disappears for awhile. I’ll put him in a pen, go away, come back, and he’ll be gone. Then a few days later I’ll find him again wandering around, outside of the hole I put him in. Truly an enigma.
I named him Manny after Manny the Headless Man Horse from Ducktales 2017.

I'm glad the added this change, I've been trying to get the perfect Horse in my world, and started with jumping and health, but most of the offspring hasn't been better than the ogs so far. Also you didn't need to correct yourself at 6:10 the highest jumping horse I've seen in creative is 5.5 blocks

I got a horse once on Java that was 21! (I think it was tested slightly differently) She’s pure black and her name’s Raven. She was on a horse racing server and we always won!
If you are always swamped with seeds, you could make a compost bin. I am not certain you need bonemeal at this point but I think it would still help.

I am very glad I decided to use the speed potion glitch to get a very very fast horse before it got patched out. This seams like a lot of work.

When we made our new bedrock world. My husband kept the medow bio, and it had a ton of horses. I spent 4 hours capturing horses and testing them out to see who was the fastest. We named the fastest Magneto 😂 So he'll be used for making fast babies.

Beets are the same way with fortune III. You don't get more beetroot, just more seeds.
Glowstone is not really an expensive ingredient for potions, clerics can sell it to you! Probably the most expensive component of the splash speed potion is the gun powder. Obviously you can make farms for that as well too though.
Hostile mob farms are honestly pretty good now, you can get well into the quadruple digits per hour. I've left that running overnight for a while & have well over 200 shulker boxes of gunpowder.

I went through this process. I had so many horses that i would just ride them around my world then dismount that way whenever im running there is pretty much always a fast horse with a sattle availible.

I always did like mc horse breeding and then testing them for jumping and for speed with a contraption. The highest hearts 💕 thing seemed difficult to get before. Now that it's easier to keep increasing horse stats, I think I'll try for some maxed out horses again! 🐎 Cool side quest!

Did the math, a 14 m/s horse with the swiftness potion AND the 8 times nether speed buff equates to a 356 mph horse.
I have 50 m/s pigs and 57 kilometers of tunnel dug in the Nether (going from world spawn to my base).
You used to be able to get faster horses from breeding by throwing a swiftness potion on the parent horses before they breed. Doing this enough times you could have a horse going over the max set speed for horses. They patched this glitch this update though.

redstone is serverside, and horses are client side, so on a local world, redstone is just the smart, accurate way to measure horse speed, on a server, you need a stopwatch and to watch for rubberbanding while riding for the speed test

Fun fact: use approx 32 sugar instead of hay bales per baby horse to grow them up into an adult - its cheaper to get sugar cane than weat
I could have sworn horse brreeding was always that the child MIGHT be faster, jumpier, healthier than it's parents. but that it got progressively less and less likely they'd be much faster if at all. So it sounds like this new chance just...makes the process more reasonable. this is good.
ibxtoycat videos are great because he’ll be halfway through a silly little minecraft tutorial and he’ll go “oh god am I doing eugenics?” and then he just goes back to talking about the fun block game like nothing happened.
I prefer the old method of using a speed potion to guarantee a faster horse.

I wish there was a proper tutorial video for the horse speed tester. The video you mentioned doesn’t really explain how to build it. How many repeaters do you need to create 4 second delay for example?

For starting, I still have 3 horses from the swiftness potion breeding bug that go about 30 blocks a second so this should be an improvement
What’s cool about this is you can make multiple fast horses after you make the first one very easily then just place them wherever you need them
You can tell if a horse is slow or fast before you tame it. Observe the leg movement while he horse is walking. Slow horses have low leg movement the faster the horse the more leg movement it will have.
If you breed together best horse in the game and best donkey in the game you will have best mule in the game so super tanky, super speedy and also aditional inventory. You can then travel with this mule and lead it in the boat if needed to travel seas with him to.
If u breed two horses that have swiftness then you can make them go even faster.

I kinda wished they would change the mule a little by giving it an ability where it has a chance to get the speed of the horse parent and having a higher max health capacity than both the donkey and horse (max possible health for horses and donkeys are 15 hearts), but with the donkey's limitation of jumping only two blocks high as the trade off for the higher health cap of 20 hearts for the mule....
Now we need to be able to use that enchantment that makes you faster in soul sand on horse armor, so fast that it crashes the game
There was once a glitch in Minecraft bedrock horses when whether you gave speed to the horse and breed them, the baby would permanently have the speed boost. Then, you can repeat and have a horse that breaks Mojang's horse limits. But that's all in the past now.

Ive done the potion bug. And to be honest ive lost count of the generations. Ive grown a horse that probably has the same speed as someone with speed 255. And some jump boost so the horse can jump over 15 blocks high. Also the horse has 15 health.
The new update is really soon, so I stopped my world completely, because I have my most favorite horse ever that I randomly found. Pure black, amazing speed, 14 hearts, and max jump is 5 blocks (can easily do three with half charge)! And I just found him roaming near some hills by my house!
Mojang is decades behind horses in Moes monsters mod from way back. Slow horse, fast horse, unicorn, nightmare, Pegasus, and black Pegasus' are the reasons I cannot even bother with stock minecraft horses. The breeding system was challenging and each horse offered a different advantage from jumping high running fast to flying and lightning their footsteps on fire.
If i remember i see someone make a content about horse gen where if you throw speed or jump potion while breeding it, the baby will have thoose effect but permanent i mean the speed or jump will increase with 100% and that version i think is 1.16 ig
Can't you breed horses while they have a speed or jump boost effect and the child will keep that effect permanently? I swear I saw a video about that and the effects stack each time a horse is bred

Interesting fact: you need 3 1/2 blocks to ride a horse thru any structure. If you do not plan to ride the horse you only need 3 blocks high (I make my paddocks 5 blocks high)

my spawn and base is at an island in the middle of an ocean so i have the luxury of using a riptide trident and elytra to travel quickly without burning through so many rockets. tridents are absolutely life changing

Mojang should had deliberately implemented that glitch with horses with Speed/Jump Boost status effects have the resulting traits permanently inherited by their offspring. Not just in Bedrock, but also Java as well.
I agree, we should start a petition, wasn't anymore op than the almost infinite range of farms and exploits that currently exist.
Think about it, I can have infinite enchanted diamond armor and tools with a villager farm and infinite xp from a mob farm. But a 30 block/second horse is too OP?

I never really did much of breeding in MC finally came back to it after a long brake but I did alot of Breeding in ARK for stats and colors so the "Breeding it with it parent" made me giggle lol
So I thought that horse breeding worked this way, where you bred the parents, but it also included one other random parent and you get the average of the three. Unless this is a java only feature, I could've swore that you could start with terrible stat parents and eventually get the best stats (but starting with good parents makes it easier).
Yes it is like this on Java and has always been , was even like this on Xbox one edition just with bedrock they would only be slight as good as parents and it wouldn’t keep multiplying like this

I was trying to breed fast horses in Java, and they never were faster than their parents. My two fastest horses perished long ago.

I happened to find a fast horse. He naturally spawned with the speed of 10 per minute but not jump higher than 5 blocks up. But then I don't need such a hight even though it does travers terrain easier
