    Still got this waiting to be read on my shelf!
    Just finished Road to no man's land Omni and then I'm diving into my two no man's lands omnis so I'm getting closer to reading this book!

      Nice!! Would definitely like your feedback as you make your way through NML. Have yet to read it myself.
      This one was a blast! I will say it is helpful if you’ve read the Snyder/Capullo run (at least through Death of the Family) and the Morrison run (at least Batman Incorporated) as there are plot elements in there that directly impact the events of
      this omnibus.
      Happy reading! 📚🦇

      @@TheComicBookReport Road to No man's land was decent. Various writers and artists covering the full run. Varied quality too especially the art.
      It's dated obviously being a 90's run but I enjoyed it throughout.
      Looking forward to diving into both No man's lands omnis now!
      I have Morrisons 3 batman omnis ( read them 3 times soon to be a 4th time, love them. ) And I've recently bought the 2 Snyder Batman omnis as I sold off my trades. Love that run too.

      @@TheComicBookReport Hey man.
      Just got finished reading both No man's lands omni's and here's what I think.
      Both have great writing ( mainly Greg Rucka ) and excellent artists but both also have some poor writing and artists! Lol
      Guess that's what you get with such a long run and collection of contributers.
      Worth reading though.
      Absolutely.

    Glad this one got a reprint. Love the clean look to this Omni. Always hear mixed things on the story but it looks dope to me 🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @TheComicBookReport
      @TheComicBookReport  Год назад +3

      Oh the design of the Omni is sick! And it pairs well with that Superman Tomasi/Gleason Omni!
      Quality-wise I think this book is excellent, the only qualifiers I’d give are that you still really need to read the Snyder/Capullo and Grant Morrison runs to understand all the stories presented here. These titles were being released simultaneously so things all of a sudden happen in this book without any context because Batman and Robin were effected by things in the other bat books, if that makes sense.
      With that in mind what we actually get here is rad. Gleason’s art is top notch. Definitely enjoyed my time with this one 🦇🦇🦇

    Artwork looks AMAZINGGGGGG ! This book was fun. Sucks that DC didn’t do a synopsis when it comes to certain issues in this book. Some people could still be confused with some of the things that occurred. I agree with you, I enjoyed the father and son dynamic.

    • @TheComicBookReport
      @TheComicBookReport  Год назад +2

      Yeah exactly! If they just did like a little blurb between issues when important events happen in other books like the Snyder/Capullo Batman or Morrison’s Batman Inc. that effected this title it would have been even better! Luckily I’d read those stories but I worry those that didn’t would feel a bit confused the way this book alone fails to bridge certain plot events.
      Other than that though this book was just flawless to me absolutely loved it and the art was Phenomenal what a spectacular run 👏🦇

      Ghostmaker showed up in the James Tynion Batman run a ways after this.

    I consider this one of the best companion omnibuses ever. I think you almost need to read Batman Inc. and Snyder Batman vol 1 before this. This series got tossed around a lot by events like Night of the Owls, Death of the Family, and Batman Inc. But all those issues are fantastic. If you've read the other books, you NEED to read this one. It's the perfect follow-up.
    One other note, it might not seem like it from Gleason's art style, but there's a surprising amount of body-horror with the villains in this book. If gross villains are off-putting to you, maybe skip this one.

    Would it be ideal to read the snyder/capullo omnibus before this?

    • @TheComicBookReport
      @TheComicBookReport  6 месяцев назад +1

      This is a very funny omnibus. I love this run but in many ways this run had to work around both Snyder and Morrison’s Batman runs as both of them advanced the Batman story in really meaningful ways. Without spoiling anything in this comment the end of the Morrison’s run in particular had an event that really changed the status quo for the bat team and that heavily impacts events within this book at a certain point. Similarly for Snyder but at a smaller scale.
      I think you could read this book first if you’d like but you’d miss key story progression that took place in those other runs

      @@TheComicBookReport thanks for the tip! That should do the trick. My plan of collecting would look like this, all in omnibus format: loeb, hush, batman and robin, scott snyder, dark nights, dark nights metal. Still contemplating if i should get absolute year one.

    If Marvel ever lets Spider-Man (Peter) get/stay married to MJ and have a kid, Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason would be the near-perfect creative team for it. It’s a shame that Tomasi seems to have split from DC after the Superman/Bendis debacle. He was one of their most consistent writers, IMO.
