While I respect the concerns of purists (OEM factory-correct; numbers matching; period correct; option and paint codes, and so on), personally I welcome the innovation that occurs when an individual strives to express him/herself in modifications to what some people consider to be 'untouchable' classics. Of course, execution is key, and everything I see might not suit my own preferences, but the beauty (and the strength) of the car-loving community lies in the LOVERS of cars as much as the cars themselves. Both ends of the spectrum ('unmolested' vs modification, and all points in between) are to be applauded and accepted, and no one should be shamed for changes they make to create their personal ride. There are plenty of pristine examples of automotive history in museums and private collections, so History isn't being erased. Now, a 'one of one' should be left alone, I'll concede. Plus, I agree with you; a shaker hood on a vette is badass! (And will anybody comment on the clever nickname besides me?) 😊
Beautiful Corvette. I have a 78 silver edition with an L82 also. One question, where did you purchase the valve covers that has the c3 emblem and corvette lettering? I wanna get the same ones.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. :-(//

I would never have thought to put a Trans-Am hood scoop on a Corvette, but that does look great.
