Sandor Haranghy exactly these cars are meant to be heard I just bought a 79 vette and plan to make some videos and you can be sure I won’t be playing music over the sound of that beautiful v8
I daily drive a 72 with a modern 350 fuel injected 350HP 5 speed manual. High performance suspension, air cond, side pipes, leather. It’s loud as hell and scares small children and dogs.
The 5.7 V8 had a 17 MPG highway and 20 City Rating! Not bad at all. Also it’s known as a 350 on the American market, and a 5 litre is a 305 which is a... bad bad (not the good way) motor.
Your Hilarious !!! Apart from that! It was a good video, looking to spend a little more than 10k - 15k and just seeing if it is as I remembered it when I drove it yester-year. It appears to be as fun as I remembered it!
Chuckled at the long hair and headband. Wrong decade, driving a 1968 Vette would be more appropriate. Should've had slicked back hair and wearing a vest ala John Travolta. As a former '78 owner, I really enjoyed this video!
I get your point, but a 1968 Vette is not the C3 to get. A 68 has 7 inch wide wheels, a less stiff frame, not worse fit and finish, and worse big block cooling vs a 1969(and the lightest C3).
@@CentralArkansasHomesteadandOff why’s that? L48 was only a 2 bolt main and had less horsepower than a 4 bolt main L82 engine. Not much less like 30 hp or so.
I a man who only drives automatics that I personally build for my big block chevys as no GM manual transmission was made to handle over 700HP/TQ. Besides the fact I had my left foot blown off in Iraq 💣💥
I didn't think I'd like the black wheels, but they look great. I have a light blue one, and a red one. Don't think they would look good with blackened wheels.
Am i the only one who noticed the title says 5.7 and he called a 5.0L like 3 or 4 times? Unless someone put a 305 in that car, its a 350. Corvette never came with a 305/5.0L
All cars had plastic in n do today...So you have a car thats not in perfect condition..whats your point. You can get an Aston jag merc...so why mention it on the Corvette?.
This car needs a complete make over. It's not pretty. And trash that 350 for a 454. If it has an automatic, trash that and the stereo. When this car is finished you couldn't hear it anyway.
when your car has a real V8 sound why the hell need to cut in rock music???? we came here to hear the V8, that is the music for our ears!
Sandor Haranghy exactly these cars are meant to be heard I just bought a 79 vette and plan to make some videos and you can be sure I won’t be playing music over the sound of that beautiful v8
Seriously , I hate that shit

Craig Scott
That’s the way to do it👍
how much did it cost to do all that?
Daaamn
Good for you who cares
yeah buddy, imma get me one
Me too man, can't wait to take her out on the gold coast!
Although the 1969 vette is better..this 1978 vette looks better than any lambo...
No way.. but yeah it looks stunning

California had 305 corvette one year and C4/C5 were 30 mpg
305s aren't bad motors. They just suck at making power
5.0 is def not a bad engine! i would never own a ford again but if i did i would totally get a 5.0 again
1975 corvette is the way to go, yours looks good
1975 is very nice id personally go for 1978-1982
What a beautiful sound man
Hysterical segment from 3:44 on
Danny Spitzer gave me a good laugh can’t wait to get my 79 vette on the road to enjoy it and make some videos
She's alright. Most people who remember 1978 leak a lot of fluids too. Just rebuild her right and that'll solve that

Harvey H just bought a 79 Vette and I can’t wait to enjoy it thinking and feeling like the great john Travolta of the 70s
I get your point, but a 1968 Vette is not the C3 to get. A 68 has 7 inch wide wheels, a less stiff frame, not worse fit and finish, and worse big block cooling vs a 1969(and the lightest C3).
@@canadianclassics Will help if I can; it's been a while since I worked on my 'Vette.
Gledam review, suddenly, Kranjska registracija.
Naj me nekdo poči, tale avto je crazy cool!
Good video. I think I found my next look my future C3.
Looks so badass in black with those fat wheels
will the price of an all original c3 corvette 1979 price go up and mine has been in two commercials (amazing condition
with the 3 speed auto it is common to rev high on the highway but definitely not 7k lol
Yeah, the tachometer was out of whack. :)
Even thought that example was a piece of junk I still want one. Silver with red interior L82 four speed.
You don't want an L82... You want the L48...
@@CentralArkansasHomesteadandOff why’s that? L48 was only a 2 bolt main and had less horsepower than a 4 bolt main L82 engine. Not much less like 30 hp or so.
I like your Videos, nice work
Thank you!
And another fact, the 5.7 and 7.4 (350 and 454) were used until 2003
74 or 75 was last year for the 454 in a corvette
74 was last year for 454 bb
Chevy small block 350 V-8s were good motors but did not have the rumble noise you are thinking of.
What MAN has an automatic corvette Seriously
I a man who only drives automatics that I personally build for my big block chevys as no GM manual transmission was made to handle over 700HP/TQ. Besides the fact I had my left foot blown off in Iraq 💣💥
rims?
I'd like to know what those rims are.
Dammit lol. Why emphasize the sound of a v8 and play music to drown it out??
Get a 1969 corvette better lines than the 78 to 82 vettes..the 1969 is to me the worlds best looking sports car ever..
it also holds the price tag of those better looks
1968 -1972 vettes look the best no doubt about it
I guess you've never seen a Jaguar E-Type from the mid 1960's... ;)
Fast back glass arguably better bub
Pretty decent video... I would suggest you get your facts straight before you do it though. Plus your car there had a custom interior.
I didn't think I'd like the black wheels, but they look great. I have a light blue one, and a red one. Don't think they would look good with blackened wheels.
is it hard to fix undercarriage rust?
Don't have any

I made an error, unfortunately.
What tires are those
What wheel specs? Overall badass car best lookn vette ever created
HYPE WARRIOR!! 1969 looks better
thats opinion
Until 2020
What about the horsepower?
I deadass found one for 15,000
Those are not factory seats or color scheme.
was thinking the same thing
Beautifulllllll car
Beautiful car but that interior needs to go
3:33 floormats upside down. Maybe he REALLY was high!
this looks like 2030 and not 1978
You said 5 liter? Not a 78
Slip of the tongue.
@@Pit-Stop that's cool. I should have not pointed that out
Slovenija?
Yes.
the renovation of the interior is a total murder. Destroy such a beautiful classic car
I gotta 78 Indy 500 pace car 😎
Whoa, now THAT must be fun!
Oh shittt
Silver Anniversary B2Z two tone paint job is nicer than the pace car.
Not an Astronaut. But I own one!
Awesome!
Looks like a batmobile
That interior color scheme looks like a bleeding ass.
Somebody had to say it
Aftermarket upholstery. Two tone wasn't offered.
25th silver anniversary c3 my favorite models new ones look like rocket ships not true muscle cars
You will never find a 5 liter in a corvette..
Yes you will. They made plenty of corvettes with the 305.
the sticker on the window is tacky
All cars had plastic in n do today...So you have a car thats not in perfect condition..whats your point. You can get an Aston jag merc...so why mention it on the Corvette?.
Not bad for an European car, but for America that car's restoration looks like it belongs in a trailer park.
At the time of this video, the car was in the middle of restoration. It even lacked some engine bay supports, making it squirmy.
What about those Bubbles on the Hood? Can`t be Rust......maybe just a shitty Paintjob?
way overweight. lots of heavy steel and cast iron. lots of friction and inefficiency. uncomfortable. relatively low performance. poor image
This car needs a complete make over. It's not pretty. And trash that 350 for a 454. If it has an automatic, trash that and the stereo. When this car is finished you couldn't hear it anyway.
obviously owned by a brutha...junk
John Q.?????????????????????
Love the 78’s- my favorite year, but I am sorry- those wheels SUCK!! 😗😗
