Face facts, 90% of people see us bus drivers as trash. It’s because you think you can get away with accusing and talking to us anyhow is the reason ya’ll think you are entitled to your disrespectful ways without repercussions. We drivers are human beings. We have feelings too.
It is those feelings that allows us to terminate a bus if we feel our safety as well as your own is compromised due to stress. Have you ever drove your car upset or angry?
Now think of driving a 10 tonne vehicle which is about 10-14 feet long with a bunch of people on board?
Now If we was to just turn a blind eye to all the crap we hear and see from all of you, and then a serious accident happens because of it, we cannot then say that it was passengers/other road users that caused us to have the accident, we are told we should have terminated the bus and took a time out before we get to that state.

In this case, the complaint arose from the fact that the door apparently began closure at exactly 6 seconds into the video, *before* the passenger had stepped onboard. You can clearly hear the hiss and he turns his head to his right, where the door is. Therefore, no slander took place.

Driver's at fault. The highway code states, that as a bus driver, you must look in your nearside mirror and at the door until you move off and that's meaning, completely leaving the bus stop with the extreme rear of your vehicle. This is to protect any late passengers and trapped passengers in the door or blindspots on either side. I however do not agree with the passenger's statement either, but that also could have been mediated with the sentence 'Take a seat quietly, end of conversation'. You have 0 patience as a bus driver and that is your biggest responsibility here. Also, why did you not wait for the guy to sit down before you move off? So many things are wrong here...

This is the reason why there is no respect in The UK anymore. Everyone wants to talk about professionalism yet we that are trying to be professional don’t get respect.
Our NUMBER ONE rule as a bus driver is SAFETY not driving
If WE don’t feel safe, the neither are you so my fellow driver here did the right thing.

    Okay let's see...
    First and foremost...
We are all human beings and humans DO make mistakes sometimes. We ain't perfect. We never were and we never will be.
Now as for the situation itself:
Did the door hit the "passenger" in the face? No, it did'nt. Not even close.
However... I can also "partially" understand the passenger's perspective (keyword: "partially")
He was affraid of getting injured which, in my eyes, is understandable.
I mean, He does'nt know the bus like the driver does.
How was he supposed to know there's a delay before the doors even close, let alone how long it would take beforehand?
    Now, as for the busdriver...
He did request the rider to leave in a respectful manner when he said "Please leave the bus"
but then use an excuse like "...because i don't feel safe, driving with you on board" right after it?
Especially considering the busdriver "conveniently" seem to have turned his head and camera away at first
when was about to be confronted by the passenger... AND on top of that, there seem to be some kind of plexiglass window between the driver and passenger?
    Come on!
And when the passenger walked on to take a seat,
i found the driver's actions rather "unprofessional". "Childish" even when he deciced to "terminate the service" and "emptying the whole bus"
Infact... if this busdriver is so easily triggered (which, apparantly he is), he should'nt be working as a busdriver
    1 more thing...
Now i wanna make something perfectly clear:
Some people can be such a Karen, yes.
But by no means was this passenger a liability, a potential risk (or however you wanna call it) in any way, shape or form.

I also understand that the rules is actually to not depart until all passengers have cleared the driver zone of the bus, before you close the doors. Which is my fault and I am completely responsible for closing the doors at the wrong time.
However, because the passenger was not touched by the doors, all of the above points are now invalid as there is no event granting him the right to falsely accuse my of actions I did not commit.
You cannot always think that others are victims. Victims are people that were actually impacted negatively by something.
You can say he have PTSD or whatever. I don't care. If you have special needs, the bus driver is not a doctor or psychologist.
I am there to drive a bus in a safe and comfortable manner which is what I did. I am not there to be a servant or do policing or anything like that.

The passenger realises that the door was closing probably by the sound of the air (pneumatics). I find it interesting that half the coment section is on the drivers side. It remained open and, even if it had closed, he would've already been inside by the time it did. However, you should've just ignored him. To say 'I don't feel safe' and that's why he has to leave the bus was nonsense and simply retaliation for the passenger daring to have a civil disagreement with you. You wanted to punish him because you disagreed with him. Not because you actually felt genuinely unsafe.
I've noticed this increasingly over the last few years, while public facing roles undoubtedly face a totally unacceptable level of abuse many on the other side of the fence also seem to have responded by equating any disagreement with abuse, often then accompanied by coming out with phrases such as bus driver did, which is not actually genuine, but an excuse to implement a retaliation on the person who had a disagreement with them.
You had a minor disagreement, and you completely failed to even try and understand his perspective. He was alarmed by the noise from the doors as he was boarding. Frankly I'd have been nervous as well. Saying 'you closed the doors in my face' doesn't have to mean literally. This could have easily been defused, you chose to escalate. What a total overreaction.
Over reacting to a complaint helps nothing, and loses you support for the many, many situations where you face actual abuse.
