Ive had praying mantises standing on parts of my body, out of nowhere might I add, while I was pulling weeds, multiple times, shoulders, arms, hands, I even walked up to family with one on the outer end of my shoulder, never once has one attacked me though weirdly
I love them. They're passive to us unless you do something that triggers their reflex but other bugs tell late night scary stories about them around the porch light. They're absolute apex predators of their weight class & are great if you have a garden.
At my high school, there was a trashcan that the custodians were too lazy to fully change the bag out of so it got taken over by bumblebees and one of the cute little fuckers landed and just hung out on my shoulder for several minutes during lunch once.

Tomato scoffed at the idea of wearing ant armor to appease the ants, but there are literally bugs that stick dead ants on their bodies in order to smell like an ant so they can get in amongst their packa to pick them off easier.
Lol so the thing is, worker ants are non hostile and they do show up more due to proximity but they arent looking for your camp they just walk around in designated area close to the hill and only show up for food but they wont fight you for it if you take it before they do and will just leave, the only ones that are hostile on sight are solider ants, the bois were committing mass ant genocide :')). In hot and hazy there is now black ants that I believe are all hostile. You can steal eggs and hatch them and it can spawn both solider and workers, spawning a solider via egg will make non hostile to you so like a free guard dog, the only issue is it was only non hostile to me but not my team mates and vice versa so i think its a thing because of pets. Its in the first stage they have second stage on their site in the works/plans. You can tame only so far weevils and aphids

It was very recent, though, so all the perspectives are still available as Twitch VoDs. I watched Joe's perspective which had pretty much nonstop exploration. From what I can gather, Shayne did a lot of crafting, building and some exploration and gathering.

The three most pointless things in life: 1: Fake pockets on women's jeans. 2: That little flappy-doodle that hangs off the tip of your nose. 3: Plotlines in an open-world survival game.
Glad to see the adventure duo giving this game a go. One point against it is that to make real progress, you need to fight stronger and stronger bugs, and the best way to do that is getting good at block timing. But the game never tells you this, so most people don't realize that unless someone tells them and get stomped by some of the mid-tier bugs. EDIT: To clarify, I don't simply mean that you simply need to remember to block, I mean that many of the more powerful enemies like the wolf spiders pretty much require you to perfect block/parry to kill them unless you can cheese them.
Yeah its really annoying, it wouldnt kill them to have a tooltip like they have for water and the machine. If one of the main progression paths in the game comes from killing bugs then maybe a combat tutorial would go a long way.

this game looks a lot better these days, but i'd still prefer if it was more "arrietty" and less "honey i shrunk the kids"
