A friend of mine told a story, she was going to bake cookies when she was younger, went to get a cookie sheet out of the cupboard and this big fuck off spider came with it. She freaked and jumped up onto the counter and watched it skitter to the door to the kitchen and stop. She stayed there for four hours until her parents came home and saved her. Her dad went to catch the spider only to discover the damn thing had died at some point in the intervening time.
On the topic of bugs dying in front of you, I once came home from work to see a bunch of beetles dead on my front porch. Some of them were still alive and flying upside down, dragging themselves across the floor.

Those beetles were probably june bugs (if you live in the south). They're like an orange-brown color and fat. They're attracted to light and dumb as rocks.
Another thing the game doesn't explain about the combat is that they added specific damage types to the weapons and gave all the bugs resistances to those damage types in the last update. So for example ladybugs are weak against "Smashing" which is only hammers, but resistant to "Stabbing" which includes all spears, arrows, and the mosquito needle. The Red Ant Club does "Generic" damage which is why it still works pretty well on them. This isn't a big deal initially, but once you get to the mid-tier and higher enemies it starts becoming essential to kill them fast enough. There's also a Souls-style weapon ascension, in which you can turn upgraded weapons into elemental ones like "Cool" or "Spicey" which later things are weak against. Oh also another annoying choice is that every time you die, it takes a big chunk of durability out of all your equipped armor pieces and weapon, which is why it ends up feeling so tedious to keep them repaired.

God I am late but actually the Italians made a knight suit in ww1 that bullets had trouble penetrating so yes actually a knight with a gun existed unironically and it worked

You'll need all the swimming gear to not drown. -Make multiple outposts across the map. That way you guys can sleep/store bullshit/craft nearby whatever place you want to explore in that moment. Less having to run across the map=more content -Go to that big square in the lower left corner of the map for a whole new and SPICY biome 😏 -Kill the Broodmother hiding somewhere in the map. She's 10× stronger than a Wolf Spider, but you can make the best gear in the game with her body parts. Would recommend one of you be ranged and the other one be tank for that fight.

Maybe its me but I liked outer worlds, yeah sure it wasn't that great maybe compared to others, mostly much smaller map size, but I really enjoyed myself, the dialogue was good. Tomato never gave it a chance if he just made it past the point of refund but I guess I'm in the minority (mostly enjoyed the story and setting, gameplay was okay, very bulletspungy near the end which is kinda shit)

You're missing the point, what bores or entertains us is completely subjective; there is no objectively good thing, there'll always be someone who disagrees with you on something. You're also contradicting yourself in your own comment. If he's bored by the game, it's his own opinion, the game didn't meet his preferences and likes. But, that doesn't necessarily make it an objectively bad game, it's just bad for Tomato, and that's perfectly fine. We're all very different, we like and dislike different things; me despising sports and racing games doesn't make them objectively bad, I find them to be bad but other people enjoy them, so it is just my "personal opinion". People are allowed to have differing opinions, that's the chaos and beauty of life. You need to grow up, the world doesn't revolve around you, not everyone has to like the things you like. You don't have to agree with other people's opinions, and you'll never be able to fully comprehend them, but that doesn't mean you can discredit or disrespect someone else's opinions. They may be wrong in your eyes, but they're right in their own eyes, and vice-versa. The best thing about art and video games is that there's something for everyone to enjoy. If everyone liked and disliked the same things, art and life would lose all meaning, we'd be robots at that point.

When you put yourself into the public forum of any kind you open yourself to criticism, it's a part of life and it's not an inherently bad thing, so long as you aren't super thin skinned you should be able to discuss disagreements with one another, if Tomato is going to state something like this he should expect people to point it out. If it was just a personal preference I wouldn't have even bothered saying anything but saying it doesn't work and that it's bad, isn't just preference and it's annoying when people make such statements and then don't back it up with anything.
