  • I found one! After searching and searching the internet and not coming up with anything I really like or could afford, one of my friends showed up and sold me one of his trucks. This truck is a 2003 Kenworth T800 Sturdyweld Dump Truck with a 98 4 axle Sturdyweld pup trailer. Things are going to get interesting.

    Having followed your journey for years your development is amazing.
    Now, working as a Heavy Equipment Tech in The High Arctic you just might benefit from using Arctic Grade lubricants and Grease during winter time.
    Uphere we spray every outside placed part that moves something with an aerosol driven Arctic Lubricant, and works great.
    I am looking forward to see you develop your trucking business, with your drive I am sure that you will need a lot of truck numbers pretty soon.
    Merry Christmas.

I benge watched several episodes and was sad to see you leave the truck for the inside office position. Your beauty is as a movie star. I know you will find your way back in the driver seat again.its in your DNA to drive trucks....Good luck in 2022; I look forward to seeing more videos even if they are older segments. I was a mechanic many years until my bones wouldn't allow me to stay at it. I miss the field work but life goes on. I relate to your construction field work. Nice looking rig. Chances are the trailer brakes are frozen up as well with the dogs and reach locks. Be careful that the truck gate doesn't hang up on the reach lock when you're Jack knifed to dump the truck. It's good to let the truck box come down a ways before pulling forward especially with those sturdy weld reach locks. On uneven ground the truck gate can contact the reach possibly. All the best on your new venture.

    Congratulations on such a great truck,looks in wonderful condition for its age,and you can't beat a CAT! What horsepower is she? One thing with that trailer tailgate lock. We have a similar setup in the UK. The actuator where the piston goes in and out to open and close,keep the piston spray oiled,it soon eases up. Every time you grease up stay that too. Truck number has to be 001 and the trailer T001. Happy Christmas to you all,hope you find lots of work for it,best wishes for 2022

    Congrats on your new rig combo
    Just under 500 thousand miles is still young yet.
    Aluminum boxes, super singles on the trailer and those to me are a plus
    105 + GVW is a plus too.
    Yes every truck has some small issues but they can be worked out.
    LED lighting is a good thing, but one near the drivers cab looks not right.
    The pintle hitch on the front end is nice
    If it does not have those LED flashing beacons yet I would get those installed and probably some LED spot lights too
    By the way I missed you saying what the transmission gears are set as . 13 speed?
    All in all a great looking truck for a great start hauling stuff.
    Numbering your truck should mean something special to you and I will bet you want to name it something too. Like the Silver Cloud or something like that.
    Cant wait to see you back in action, now lets get to work...
    👍 and stay safe. Plus Merry Christmas and Happy new year to you and your family

    I drove Dump trucks as a Teamster (282) for over 35 years in New York City and all surrounding States. Retired with some disabilities now. I did enjoy the KW 800's and 880's. This video is over a year ago so a belated congratulations to you. I started in the early 1980's back when very few owned new trucks so you could imagine the hunks of junk I drove on my time. It's so nice to be in a truck that doesn't fight back. I started in a B model MACK with a Quadraplex transmission and moved up to a 1968 MACK DM 800 with a 18 speed Quadraplex. Back then there were mostly Tandem trucks on the road. Anyway thanks for listening, I love your videos. Keep on Truckin' and keep the rubber side down.

Like the reach trailer, which I guess extends/retracts(what's the purpose?), what are all the gauges, how does the floating axles raise/lower & so on. BEAUTIFUL SET UP MA'AM, WE CAN TELL UR SO PROUD TO OWN IT, AS U SHOULD....HARD HONEST WORK ALWAYS PAYS OFF!!!

    Congratulations on your truck purchase and I gather this has been a dream for some time. It certainly looks smart for a 23 year old truck and the quick walk around looks like it has been well maintained, sometimes it's not what you know but who you know and it sounds as if the owner felt it was better to let it go to someone he knew than take a chance another way. Best wishes for Christmas and your new beginning from here where it's 19c at present 👍🇳🇿

    Congrats girl !! I had a feeling you had a surprise in store when I saw you preparing the parking spot. Much better looking than the ones you were looking at on the auction site, plus being a friend, you must feel more comfortable. I was noticing, when you were trying to open the gate on the pup that the drop axle was down. Did you charge the trailer air before you tried that and the drawbar latches ? Just a thought. I know you're a VERY smart and knowledgeable girl, so please don't take that as criticism. What's the transmission ? I couldn't quite see the knob in the video. I would guess either an 8LL or 18spd., but I'll be watching !! I'm 72, and a former triaxle and dump trailer owner/operator in N.H., having had 5 trucks running at one point, but toward the end I sold the used ones and bought a brand new Pete 379 ext. hood daycab heavy spec. tractor, and a used 34' triaxle aluminum East dump trailer. I can still remember the rush I got each time I got a new (to me) truck, and especially the rush when the new Pete came in ! Anyway, I'm really happy for you and will be following you on your new journey. I know you'll be AWESOME !! Merry Christmas to you and your lucky husband 😁!!!

      Yeah....I was gonna say the same thing about charging the trailer. Especially with it being cold and the trailer old and sentimental. I drove a 7 axle dump with 8 airbags so it took a minute to air up and release gate and fill bags. It's 5 months now so I'm sure all that's figured out now. Yaay for you again.

    Being curious here.. is it because of the law that the drawbar on the trailer has to be that long?
    Since I come from Europe, it looks almost ridiculous being that long. Here it would be like 2 meters/6 feet long.

      It’s bridge law, to spread weight on a bridge. To prevent that ‘sinking feeling’. You shorten up when empty. I like to see happy people, go gurl!.

    • @AimeeWalton
      @AimeeWalton 2 года назад

      @@bobnwashington Thank you, thought it had to be something along those lines. It would not be legal/practical here as our roads are too tight, so looks quite strange! Plus too many idiots would try driving between the truck and trailer at junctions 🙄

    • @bobnwashington
      @bobnwashington 2 года назад +1

      @@AimeeWalton You’re right, they do try to drive between the trailer, had it happen, that’s why a light on the reach is required.

    For unit numbers may I suggest using a series system: 101... for pickups; 201...for tractors; 301...for dump trucks; 801... for lowboy trailers; 901...for dump trailers; 1001....for wagons. Makes identifying the unit easy. Or something like that-- plan for a big fleet. 😃
