I have a gut feeling you're really going to fall in love with that CAT. Also, you really can't beat those older rigs. Pretty darn reliable and if anything breaks, pretty easy for mechanics to figure it out and have you up and running quickly. Nice rig. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!

I drove Dump trucks as a Teamster (282) for over 35 years in New York City and all surrounding States. Retired with some disabilities now. I did enjoy the KW 800's and 880's. This video is over a year ago so a belated congratulations to you. I started in the early 1980's back when very few owned new trucks so you could imagine the hunks of junk I drove on my time. It's so nice to be in a truck that doesn't fight back. I started in a B model MACK with a Quadraplex transmission and moved up to a 1968 MACK DM 800 with a 18 speed Quadraplex. Back then there were mostly Tandem trucks on the road. Anyway thanks for listening, I love your videos. Keep on Truckin' and keep the rubber side down.

Having followed your journey for years your development is amazing.
Now, working as a Heavy Equipment Tech in The High Arctic you just might benefit from using Arctic Grade lubricants and Grease during winter time.
Uphere we spray every outside placed part that moves something with an aerosol driven Arctic Lubricant, and works great.
I am looking forward to see you develop your trucking business, with your drive I am sure that you will need a lot of truck numbers pretty soon.
    Merry Christmas.

Nice looking rig. Chances are the trailer brakes are frozen up as well with the dogs and reach locks. Be careful that the truck gate doesn't hang up on the reach lock when you're Jack knifed to dump the truck. It's good to let the truck box come down a ways before pulling forward especially with those sturdy weld reach locks. On uneven ground the truck gate can contact the reach possibly. All the best on your new venture.

I drove a 92 KW with a Cat 3406B and a 9 speed. It was the best engine I ever operated. I got pulled into the Alex Fraser Bridge scale in BC and was air care inspected. The inspector couldn't believe how clean the exhaust was so he watched my foot as I floored it again. He said it was the cleanest running truck he'd seen all day. The 9 speed worked okay since I was mostly I-5 between Vancouver BC and Olympia.

Just under 500 thousand miles is still young yet.
Aluminum boxes, super singles on the trailer and those to me are a plus
    105 + GVW is a plus too.
Yes every truck has some small issues but they can be worked out.
LED lighting is a good thing, but one near the drivers cab looks not right.
The pintle hitch on the front end is nice
If it does not have those LED flashing beacons yet I would get those installed and probably some LED spot lights too
By the way I missed you saying what the transmission gears are set as . 13 speed?
All in all a great looking truck for a great start hauling stuff.
Numbering your truck should mean something special to you and I will bet you want to name it something too. Like the Silver Cloud or something like that.

Much better looking than the ones you were looking at on the auction site, plus being a friend, you must feel more comfortable. I was noticing, when you were trying to open the gate on the pup that the drop axle was down. Did you charge the trailer air before you tried that and the drawbar latches ? Just a thought. I know you're a VERY smart and knowledgeable girl, so please don't take that as criticism. What's the transmission ? I couldn't quite see the knob in the video. I would guess either an 8LL or 18spd., but I'll be watching !! I'm 72, and a former triaxle and dump trailer owner/operator in N.H., having had 5 trucks running at one point, but toward the end I sold the used ones and bought a brand new Pete 379 ext. hood daycab heavy spec. tractor, and a used 34' triaxle aluminum East dump trailer. I can still remember the rush I got each time I got a new (to me) truck, and especially the rush when the new Pete came in ! For your truck number why not use the day of the month of your birthday for the number with a 0 or a couple of 0s in front of it. First time seeing your channel. Kenworth is the only way to fly. Way, way more reliable than anything else out there. Glad to see the Cat power and pre-emissions too. Your T-800 is super clean for a 2003 and obviously really well cared for. Use only Cat filters for oil and fuel and we use Lincoln and Milwaukee battery grease guns. Good luck and wanting to see it work.

Nice rig. I don't really know anything about dump trucks, but I was an OTR truckdriver for 13 years before I retired. I remember one time in the late 90's I pulled into the fuel islands of the old 76 Truckstop in Oak Creek, WI and there was a shiny new Mack Granite there and it was one of the most beautiful trucks I ever saw. I don't know if they were good trucks or not but they sure were beautiful.

Talking about numbers, mine is the last three digits of the serial number 109, so when you go to get parts and work done you only need to remember the first three digits 925 109. I also named my company starting with 109. Nice truck by the way, you`ll have lots of tonnes to haul before you need another. Older is better , mines a 90 and 2.5 mil. k on it and goes everyday. Everything over 06/07 is trouble and that`s what you`ll see on the side of the road, hood up and the person waiting in the cab for help. Best wishes and I`m excited for you.

Hello dauminique, I am in France. with us the brake relay staves (on the towing mast) are also often blocked! and considering the state and the cold I think, that a good cleaning is required! Then a good greasing with graphic grease (it freezes at a lower temperature). and normally all will work fine again.
PS: it's always easy to see women truckers and beautiful videos. in addition you are in a beautiful region 😉

Dauminique, on that truck that you were driving that kept breaking motor mounts. Something that I was watching on TikTok, I think that it had a bent frame. I was watching a Canadian truck mechanic who commented about twisted frames and broken motor mount bolts.
    Hello from north east Montana.
10 miles from the Canadian border.

Happy trucking Dauminique. But some tips . It will sound a bit tedious , BUT, FROM MY EXPERIENCE OWNING HEAVY VEHICLES, when you buy a vehicle that was standing for a while it is best to do an examination first BEFORE you start to work it.1.) Free up and lubricate ALL mechanical moving joints, linkages eg. trailer tailgate. GREASE and do a proper examination of the FRONT END and wheel bearings. Replace worn PARTS. 3) OVERHAUL COMPLETE BREAKING SYSTEM. REPLACE ALL BREAK DIAPHRAMS They can rapture under load. You DO NOT kNOW if they are dry rotting. Two incidents.A) This almost cost me a vehicle.2) Inexperience driver - piston seized up IN WHEEL, cause vehicle to capsize. When vehicle was not loaded all worked great ,BUT, under load TROUBLE.
