The slow response time is for non-emergencies. If you have a stomach-ache, you’ll be waiting a while, but if you’ve broken a bone it’ll be almost immediate. (Needs over wants)

the usa doesnt have a waiting list because no one can afford to go to the hospital.
if the usa had free-to-use healthcare, you would have huge waiting times

All i can say being from the UK that if i had a serious issue for example i needed a surgery i know i'd get it with no bill at the end of it, so other than the wait there's no stress no matter the treatment unlike many other countries where ppl watch themselves, their kids & other family members suffer just because of ability to pay.

The cost is the main issue. Everyone gets treatment in the UK. Regardless of their wealth. What people pay through their wages (National insurance) is peanuts compared to other countries. plus the sick, elderly and unemployed are covered.

You do not opt in or opt out of the NHS - it covers us from cradle to grave. We have access to private healthcare, but this is in addition to not replacement of universal healthcare coverage. The NHS is based on priority whereas in the US it is based on demand.

From my perspective, spending an extra 6% GDP on healthcare but still having higher death rates and more mistakes, then using waiting times as a con just seems kind of hilarious to me.
Waiting times are based on severity for example my last experience with the NHS was a Lymphatic passage infection. It has a high risk of becoming Septic so my appointment was 8pm the same day with an out of hours doctor, took about 2 minutes before I had my prescription for antibiotics.

The US has such expensive healthcare because it is being run for profit. Every man and his dog take their cut. The US system is horrific, especially if you are in a lower socio-economic area.
Healthcare is a right not a privilege.

Imagine using a American to explain the NHS....lol
It is not Socialism! You don't have option to opt out... because its Free! Its Government Funded.
All taxes go to the Government and they decide what public sectors get what.
The same way the Police, The Fire brigade etc get funded.
    The NHS is amazing!
Waiting lists are prioritised It's the best system possible.
In America you still pay tax the same way, difference is, we don't need to pay medical insurance on top.

your talking bull sh!t 8weeks could be true but not one person is ever turned away and sine 1948 not one person has been made bankrupted we don't pay $4000 each that's the cost running the NHS what the video said America cost $10000 each to your system and not everyone is covered you don't die in the UK if you've not got medical insurance I'll keep the NHS it's great
