You were making Konami TMNT videos before the retro TMNT renaissance, when very few retrospectives of this gaming series existed. This opportunity was well earned
I bought this game yesterday for the NintendoSwitch. I had many of these games when they were originally released and knowing that my 12 year old son also like TMNT this was a great game for us to get and bond over. That being said I'm still kicking his butt in Tournament Fighters. Great game I'd buy it again if for some reason it was ever lost.
I am having so much fun playing this collection. Of all the anniversary collection of games I’ve played from Konami,TMNT is one of the best collection ever made by them. I am glad that I played these games and I’ll forever remember this moments.
Oh man get ready for a good time when you get it. I played the NES version via rental when it was released and had the 16 bit releases (pretty expensive now so until this came out I bought repros) and spent many quarters on the arcade releases. However I never played the Gameboy releases until this collection came out so even I didn't experience some of the games.
I've been having a lot of fun with the Cowabunga Collection. I've already beaten 4 of the games & am planning on playing through a few more when I get the time. Well worth the money for sure
It's been years since I played any of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games since the 90's. Definitely getting this today so I can sit back and enjoy this games again as an adult. Pizza Power.
Congratulations on being spotlighted by Konami for covering TMNT!! Loved the films, comics, and animated series. Most of all the games. So sweet to see it back again, the entire classic collection. Cowabunga!!
So many great memories with some of these games, but as big a TMNT fan as I was then (and still am), I never did play The Manhattan Project or the Game Boy games. Getting the chance to play them now is definitely interesting. It's cool having all these games on one Switch card as it gives you a chance to really see the huge leap Konami made when taking the home console games from NES to the SNES and Genesis but props also have to be given for the fact they were even able to get a functioning version of The Arcade Game on an 8-bit system.
I haven't had this much fun with a collection since the Street Fighter 30th collection this gen. It really is amazing. I too am not a fan of the filters in this game and really hope they add better ones; as the games themselves deserve to look as good as they can on any T.V. as well as fix the online.
When you start to think Konami is about dead as a video game developer it manages to impress everyone while probably spitting up blood and guts the whole time. Guess I'll be adding that game to my collection.
I hope you were fortunate enough to get a collectors edition copy. Worth it for sure. I already sunk a ton of time into the collection but still found you’re video informative and entertaining. Keep up the great work
I love the cowabunga collection i bought a copy for the series x and nintendo switch. I hope Konami makes another compilation of there other turtles games too.
Ninja turtles were a huge part of my childhood I scooped this up as soon as I seen it I can't wait to share it with my children hoping they enjoy it the way I did
I am 1 month older than the 1st ever drawing of a TMNT and around 1 year older than the official launch. So it will come to no suprise to anyone when I tell you that TMNT is my all time favourite childhood cartoon.
My ranking of the games in the collection 13. TMNT (NES) 12. Tournament Fighters (Genesis) 11. Tournament Fighters (NES) 10. Tournament Fighters (SNES) 9. Fall of the Foot Clan 8. Back from the Sewers 7. The Arcade Game 6. TMNT (Arcade) 5. Turtles in Time (Arcade) 4. Radical Rescue 3. The Manhattan Project 2. The Hyperstone Heist 1. Turtles in Time (SNES)
However the first NES game was so hard the only way I'd play any of the 13 games on the PS4 is if nearly ALL of them has a GOD mode cheat ie Infinite Health /Lives for most of those games.
Yay , awesome callab indeed. I really like and I'm even considering getting this again on the Switch which says a lot cuz was more of a Power Rangers fan back then. Also thinking about Power Rangers I hope you can do video(s) of their games like the ones from Nastume company which I like to think of them as the Konami of Power Rangers back in the day.
The only thing I can really complain about is the real original theme song is not use in the first arcade TMNT. Other than it is the perfect definition of a game collection. This is definitely more than I expected
Did they do a new recording of the cartoon's theme, or use a completely different song? There actually was an alternate theme song composed for the arcade game before its original release which went unused outside of a game soundtrack CD. One other change that I am aware of is the removal of the Pizza Hut product placement from the NES port of the first arcade game, along with the omission of the "free pizza" coupon in the scans of game's packaging. (The lack of Pizza Hut product placement is not a deal-breaker for me, but I do want people to be aware of it for historical purposes.)
@@KasumiKenshirou it's the same theme song but sung by different people. I just remember when I played the original arcade game at an arcade bar I heard the original theme of the cartoon but sung by the original people. I did not know they had alternate tracks for arcade. I'm just thinking that they didn't get the rights to the original song so they just sang the original song with different people. I know a lot of people wanted the Pizza Hut product placement for the NES version but it didn't really matter to me.
You should review the fan made fighting game TMNT Vs Justice League Turbo for the PC which is basically using the SNES TMNT Tournament Fighters character sprites and the 16 bit Justice League Task Force fighting game character sprites and stage backgrounds, but improved upon the fighting mechanic to make it more competitive and more! The fans that made this took time and care to make this so definitely check it out if you haven't played it.
We need a Ghostbusters game collection even if some of them aren't good but I would love to play new Ghostbusters 2 on Modern Hardware or extreme Ghostbusters Game ps1 and GBA
If it wasn't for the Turtles Lair I wouldn't pick up this collection! The presentation is great and all and the emulation is on par with what we are used with community emulators but the filters are BAD! Oh my god how they are bad! I'm so used to those great RetroArch shaders that I can't stand those awfully scaled scanlines.
I just checked the specs for this collection and the first question springing to mind was: Why does this need 12 Gigs of storage space if the games themselves would add up to maybe 200MB max?! Oo (Generously assuming the Arcade games take roughly 100 MB each - The rest of the games take one-digit Megabytes, some even just Kilobytes). So why is that? Huge video bonus content? Are all the Movies and the Cartoon Series included? Just wondering.
Don't we wish lol The best we got was a bunch of still screen shots from every season of every series. We also got all the music and manuals. There is also "fixes" to the games line anti flicker and anti slow down
If I can nit pick the fact that's it's emulators means that it's a bit glitchy sometimes and having three versions of turtles tournament fighters is a bit of a rip
1) Emulators are the only way to do it... so, what's the problem? These games have been properly emulated for at least years. 2) it's a collection of all the 8 and 16 bit releases.. so 3 versions of the same game is for archival purposes... not a "rip". Relax bud
@@DanJackson1977 Well that is just lazy when I'm paying up to 40 to 50 quid for a game that I can download for free using Mame or zsnes etc. All I'm really paying for is an interactive museum of sorts.
The Arcade game is just not there. The graphics are worse than original, and the MAIN TITLE TRACK is just not the same. Why?!?!? This is a next gen console! Why the drop in graphics quality in the Arcade Game? It should be EXACTLY the same as original cabinet!
How could it be the best when shredders revenge came out this year and is way better and cheaper and this is the same year were not talking about other years of better games
Top hat, I love your channel. But you are a wrestling man, there is a huge history in wrestling, puroresu, inter-martial arts tournament pre MMA that has huge influence on the games which I think you haven't explored or you didn't put into the games. I can't say for sure I am right but for example Toshi Fujiwara vs Muay Thai inspired manga, anime which I think was the common theme at the time of SF1. Same for puroresu and early MMA.
