I’m a Joan Crawford super fan. I love this video and love that us, a younger generation are giving her redemption beyond her portrayal in Mommie Dearest. Bless you and your beauty!
We have to remember that sixty and seventy years ago there were no products on the market to speak of. Conditioning products for the hair have advanced incredibly over even the last 20 years. I've worked in the industry for over 30 years. Protein conditioners weren't even available until sometime in the sixties I believe. So mayonnaise may work in a pinch, but it's not necessary today because of the fine products that are available.
Where you been at you said you've been in the industry for 30 years if you have you should know that 60 70 years ago was just in the fifties they have products do your research not the products they have today but they had products do you research.
Joan Crawford was ahead of her time. Looking at photos of her as time progressed, I believe she never had a facelift. And those first generation facelifts were no joke. I've tried the ice water thing too, although not as much as Joan did. I've always had large pores and another thing the ice water does is it makes the pores tighten which helps the skin with a more natural glow.
Great video! Very brave to do the ice rinse 25X. Joan deserves icon status. Sadly, the movie really has affected her career and legacy. I love your topiary, where did you get it? New subscriber-Good Luck with your channel!
Thanks so much Rita!! Yes it was super chilly doing it for 25x. Yeah I think the movie really did show her in a different light unfortunately. Glad you like my topiary. I think i got it at my local Home Goods. And thanks joining The L.A. Glow Alicia
Joan Crawford is my hero. She was always serious about self care and skin care. She is why I am so driven about skincare. I used to do the ice water 25 times in my routine but that was before I started using vitamin C and retinol. Now it’s not necessary
I think you have to put witch-hazel in the ice and they said it's good to rinse your face with ice water because it closes the pores and it preps the skin for makeup and it wakes up your face in the morning ❤❤
Thanks for watching! Yes there are many benefits to using ice water. It soothes redness and decreases inflammation and the appearance of large pores :)
Ok I'm addicted to watching you torture yourself with the ice water face bath. It just makes me laugh uncontrollably. Girl you need a check up !!!! Still love the background music.
This looks so invigorating! I’ve always wanted to try it but I’m so fair skinned and have problems with broken capillaries on my face. Every time I see a new one, it depresses me lol. I’ve been told to stay away from extreme temps to prevent them. 😒 anyone who sees this have any tips for busted capps?
I used to have the same problem in my nose and I hated it, it looked like the nose of an 80 year old man, (I was 30 when it started) but I began treatment with laser and got rid of them. One or two appear after a while (2-3 years), but I just go back to my doctor (dermatologist) and problem solved.
Mayonnaise is wonderful in my hair....I use it alone, if you are worried about it dripping just work in your favorite leave in with it before putting on your tresses.
In the 70's a girl got on my school bus and immediately smelled up the bus with her mayo smelling hair . She said that she washed her hair many times and still couldn't get the oil or smell out of it .I think she was called MAYO FOR WEEKS AFTER THIS .
This lady talks about using mayo on your hair. In the movie Driving Miss Daisy, Hawk the driver and Idela the maid , are watching TV and he says that lady on tv her hair is soo shiny and Idela says she uses mayo . He thinks Idela is bluffing and she says again Hawk she uses mayo is true.

What a cool video! I love Joan Crawford and I've always been fascinated by her beauty routine. And those eyebrows!
Thank you so much. Yes, I love Joan Crawford as well even her silent films. Her eyebrows are iconic!!

Cool that you tried the ice water as well!! Yes I don't think she had a facelift either. If she did It wasn't that noticeable.
@@thel.a.glowbeauty1925 She had a facelift in the late 40's
@@sydneysilvert1390 I believe the lift was in the late 1950s.
Joan packed her face in ice every morning at 4 am before she went to work or if she was up all night on one of her vodka binges, which she did often.
Hahah!! Yes what a life she had ;)
She was a real beauty, love old time Hollywood Movies.
She sure was!! Me too. I think I watch a new old time Hollywood movie every weekend 🍿📺
Joan Crawford is my favorite TCM actress. She was a beautiful and amazing actress. Love your video.
Fabulous and so entertaining - you are braver than me with the ice though - well done best Neil
Hi!! Thanks. Yes that ice really wakes you up!! Haha. So cold.
I am a fan of Joan. Idk why but I am. Thank you for this!

YES
Yep, Joan mentions the Witch-Hazel in her book My Way of Life, which is a very odd and entertaining book!
I just found your channel today. SUBSCRIBED. 💜
Welcome!! Thank you for subscribing. I'll have new videos coming out real soon!
Love this!👍
I'm laughing so hard and crying from laughter when you do the ice water face thing with that silly 50s music playing
It was so cold! lol
I will definitely not try but utilize the ice face method.
She would keep the temperature of the set too low that the cast would catch cold only to keep her skin and makeup fresh SAVAGE
She definitely had a way of doing things. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve dunk my face in the ice water and hold my breath...no cold hands.
Ok I'm addicted to watching you torture yourself with the ice water face bath. It just makes me laugh uncontrollably. Girl you need a check up !!!! Still love the background music.
Love it 😍

I like the background music it's vary comical....

haha, funny story!!!
Sounds like she used some kind of weak shampoo.
This is a comedy act !!! I'm laughing my head off

REally! I've seen that movie and I don't remember that part. funny !!
the lips ! ! ! .... Joan created her lips look in the 3O's and stuck with it . . .
Christina has distanced herself from the movie.
She used the hot water first to open the pores.
I was counting until u lift ur face up,u are beautiful as well.
Not enough ice
Ow that hot water...
Girl stop.
your not even doing it right and you have to have a ton of ice and leave it on your face
You are far prettier than Crawford and probably a much finer human being.
Thank You
