Hi, I’ve owned a pest control company in AZ for 19 years and have actually been licensed since 1990 ( Jeeze I’m old! 😂) I appreciate what you are trying to do with your video which is help the general public with a little bit of information on do it yourself pest control and absolutely appreciate that. I just wanted to add my opinion to hopefully help a little bit further. It is generally not necessary to mix Suspend S/C with hot water unless you’re in a very cold climate and the concentrate has become very thick due to both the cold temperature as well as the age of the material. Also,I honestly only recommend the Drione to be used as a crack and crevice type application and applied nowhere in which it can be seen. The Suspend S/C you are using on the Exterior is also a phenomenal product to be used on the interior as well. I am not sure when you made this video so a new product may not have been available back when you did. It is called Suspend Polyzone. About six months ago I switched to this as my primary General pest control insecticide. It has the exact same active ingredient as Suspend S/C however they have added a polymer to it which makes it last much longer and allows it to stand up to more extreme conditions such as heavy foot traffic as well as more harsh conditions outside such as extreme heat and rain. If you have not yet, give it a try, I guarantee you will love it! Thank you so much for posting your video!
    Respectfully,
    Ed Schroeder

      Ed Schroeder - Hi Ed,
Thank you for your insight and experience, as well as recommendations.
Don’t know if you are available for a few general questions, but we moved from California to North Carolina this last year and having major problems with certain critters here in the amazing south.
We have a “Yellow Fly” aka: Deer fly , aka: biting yellow asshole problem here and need advice as to what to use.
This last weekend I went out and purchased a Stihl SR-200 backpack blower / sprayer / fogger, as well as some Bifen IT, Permethrin and we have Suspend Polyzone commercial blend given to us by a pest control expert.
I’d ask him, but he’s the termite specialist and doesn’t do anything with other insects.
What’s the best all-purpose insect killer for:
      Mosquitos
      Yellow Flies
      Regular flies
      Wasps, hornets and Carpenter Bees
      Chiggers (absolutely the worst)
I want a general purpose insect killer, which can be used to exterminate 17 acres of massive mosquitos the size of Texas.
We have a serious issue after Hurricane Florence rocked us hard here, and I have no sincere answers on what works.
We escaped California just in time to be slaughtered by these insects.
We have a seriously bad pest control issue here and last year we had a pest control company coming out and taking care of some of this, but they sucked and the majority of this we were dealing with ourselves.
Where’s the best place to spray?
We have a 1/4 mile long driveway and we are surrounded by large quantities of water.
There’s a huge flowing creek / river out back, and we have a 1 acre pond out front.
Our pond is Surrounded by even more trees and the mosquitos seem to live in those trees.
The pond is stagnant water , only filled with thunderstorm or rain water, that’s it.
The creek is huge and flows year round.
Reason I mention this is because Permethrin can kill fish.
I don’t want my fish suicideded . They’re very expensive Japanese Coy, costing up to $20,000 per fish.
If you have any good tips on what the best insecticide we can use is, please advise.
As I said, I have Bifen IT, Permethrin and Suspend Poly as you mentioned.
I haven’t used the Suspend yet, because it looks like it targeted roaches, beetles as well as other shelled insect critters.
We don’t have a problem with roaches or anything like that, we don’t have a bed bug problem and I pray we never do.
They appear to be an unclean social infestation critter and we are very far from our neighbors.
      Thanks again.

    • @poppabear9279
      @poppabear9279 5 лет назад +9

nathan and Payton johnson - well, as an engineer, I figured it out on my own. I always have to dig deep to find answers to questions, so I dug really deep into research.
So, first thing you need to do is study the mating habits of the critters you’re trying to eliminate.
Yellow flies for example, lay their eggs on leaves and branches and those eggs have a gestation period ranging from a few days, to a dormant period. So, I scheduled my spraying and extermination event over the course of a 12 day period.
June 1st, I had a bazillion yellow flies and mosquitos. I decided to spray that day, because the weather was good and not expected to rain for 2 days
I used a mix of 2 insecticides, making 2 passes.
Bifen IT, 7.9% on first pass. Covered approx 5 acres of driveway, bushes, around my house, all bushes in back of the house, pond, etc.
sprayed 3 gallons of Bifen IT.
Went back, to kill multiple bugs, including these massive wolf spiders I have here.
Mixed up a medium dose of Permethrin 13.3%, using recommended package directions for a sprayer. Sprayed another 3 gallons and went back for another 1-1/2 gallon pass.
That eliminated everything for a week. It was nice. No insects bugging me every minute. Yellow fly population dropped for quite some time.
June 11th, 10 days later. New yellow flies and mosquitos hatched. Started infesting us again.
Mixed up the same batch of Bifen IT only this time. Sprayed 4 gallons total and covered the same areas discussed.
We have a decent sized property out here and our driveway is 1000 ft long. So, decided to eliminate everything near water, their hatching and breeding area. Sprayed really well on all leaves near any water, also sprayed the water.
Came back for another pass of Permethrin a day later to eliminate smaller flying insects.
So, the answer to the question is yes, people on RUclips don’t answer or respond and I know I had to be the one to do this, grab the insects by the balls and figure out a solid approach instead of wasting chemicals.
Reason why most pest control companies don’t work correctly, is because they put you on a 30 day regimen, almost purposely allowing more and more insects to hatch, allowing them to breed and allowing them to mate between periods.
It’s almost like they plan it this way on purpose so you need to keep paying them a monthly service fee to do this. It’s insane. These companies know what they’re doing, and they only come back after a whole new batch of insects have come out.
If they wanted to eliminate them, they’d truly schedule it 7-10 days apart and use a chemical that’s specifically targeted at the insects you wish to kill.
I figured this out, and willing to share the info.
If you find the mating and life cycle of the insect you’re trying to target and eliminate, that’s the key. Then, find out where they breed, mate and live.
Female yellow flies and mosquitos are the biters. They are the pesky ones, so you need to kill their vegetarian mates and eggs, you need to kill their mating ponds and areas they inhabit
So, it’s a long response, but yeah, I had figured it out.
It’s been really nice here since the 2nd spray. I’ll likely have to go back out and kill some more of them here in the next few days.
      Cheers

Thanks for putting the video together. I would make a couple comments as I've use suspend SC for about 10 years now. I've used it indoors at 50% application rate as per the instructions and had zero problems applying twice a year and at times even once a year. I have found suspend SC does not work on fire ants here in Houston Texas. Therefore I use Talstar in a liquid form sprayed on the base of the bricks which provides a second layer for any insects that decide they want to live in this house.
Thanks again for the video as the more information we put out there the better off everyone will be.

I use talstarr P and tekko pro mixed together. I have pets and small
Children and spray indoors and outdoors. It doesn’t stain and it most definitely works. You just need to follow the directions very carefully because it can kill your dog if used improperly. You don’t need much to kill insects. Follow the directions, and most importantly don’t let anything go in the room, or outside where you spray for the time it says. Most are 2-3 hours or until dry. I spray it in the morning and kennel the dogs in a room that isn’t being sprayed, don’t let anyone outside or in the area I spray for 24 hours, haven’t had any issues. It works best to spray when the lawn and weeds are trimmed all the way down, so it gets to the soil. When we first bought our house it was infested with fleas, spiders, crickets, Beatles, red ants, scorpions from being vacant for so long so it was a very big priority to find a product that would work. Within 1 day of applying I could notice a huge difference. Within a week the problem wasn’t a problem anymore. We found the solution and I spray once every 3-4 months now depending on rainfall and we rarely see any insects at all and we live on 2 acres in the woods of north west texas. Snakes that’s a different story lol

Great products, but as a pest management professional I have to say that these products are definitely hazardous to pets and people if applied incorrectly. You don't need to take my word for it, it is on the front page of the product labels. Doing your own pest control is a great way to save some money but don't do it at the cost of your health. Always read the labels and apply exactly how it says to, over applying will not solve your problems any faster.

You are spread pesticide dust in your house? That is meant for crack and crevice treatments. I use it everyday at work. You could spray the suspend sc along the baseboards around the house. It is made for use in food industry establishments. Mix
.75 oz per gallon and your done. The dust is a long lasting residual that if un disturbed can last for years. It's best to use behind the base boards and in wall voids. Just remember it's there if you ever do any demo because it will still be there.

It's pyrethrin dust(commonly called ant or wasp dust) and deltamethrin liquid insecticide.
Most bug sprays etc have them in them and they are one of the most highly effective.
For roaches use fipronil baits instead, it won't kill on contact like ''-ethrin's" and as such they carry it around for a few hours and 9/10 take it back to the nest and spread it like the plague, they won't live past a few hours even if they touch just a spec of it.
For fleas use comfortis for the pets, or use paranormis for all in one flea and tick etc and prepare to be amazed(doesn't last as long as label suggests but that doesn't matter as it will abolish every last one of them after the cycle is broken).

In 90s Our family had our apt treated by EcoLab Co. (MN co. , not counterfeiters). It made roaches sterile and got rid of them PERMANENTLY. NEVER saw another roach again. I am hesitant about this stuff, especially TEMPRID.... sounds very TEMPorary . Did roaches comeback at some point time after a long period? BTW, for Fleas, I highly recommend D.E. (Non food grade for external app and Food Grade as substitute for oral de-warming pill. De-warming pill is Cyanide the Suicide pill). When I dusted my kittens full of D.E. all fleas on them and in the house DISAPPEARED in less than three days. Just be sure to not miss a spot, especially on their faces and back end.

I just checked out the IGRs. If it is Nyguard, or typically mixed with it or under some other trade name, I don't think that's it. I think it came in a powder form. I think I might be right in my hunch, that EcoLab has continuously extended their patent on this stuff every 7years, since the 90s. It might even be that, now they may have stop using it, as that would kill their profit. Most residents would simply use their service once, and never again, as there's no need for second application. Basically it made the roaches go EXTINCT.

The stuff that they sell at major home improvement stores seems to not work that great or at all sometimes, I'm starting to blame it on insects growing a resistance to most of the common insecticides they sell because it's so commonly used. Fleas and bedbugs especially seem to be really good at building a resistance to pesticides that are commonly used and that's why I seem to think why they don't work that great or work at all. I used a "ready to spray" insecticide for fleas outside a few years ago that I bought from Home Depot and the fleas seemed to blow up even worse afterwards lol. I come to find out that permethrin and archer insect growth regulator nowadays works like a charm on fleas though after a lot of money and time wasted trying to figure out what really works and all, it can be a really frustrating thing to deal with for someone that doesn't know much about pesticides.

I have been a licensed pest control tech for almost 13 years. Never in my life have I mixed suspend sc in hot water. And I do not recommend using that in exterior applications. That "paper thing" is the label. You need to follow its directions. The label is the law. I recommend the use of suspend on the inside of the house for interior application. Using a Bifethrin like Tal Star with a kicker such as tengard will do the shot. Also a Fiprionl product application such as termidor in the outside of your home applied 2 times per year works wonders for ants. Just my 2 cents

Guys I have been using this stuff for over a decade now, it doesn't so much control pests as it exterminates them. First use ever I was sick of boxelders and earwigs totally covering a house they start twitching in a few seconds and in 15 minutes its all over. Considering how pet, child, and food prep area safe...you'd be hard to find a better product. I like to use the most recommended for stuff like ticks, mosquitos on lawns, around bases of homes and stuff like roaches. You can exterminate roaches by yourself with this product, empty your place of everything, open ever door and cabinet and apply, and bye bye roaches, that simple. It kills so many things the list on the back has over 100 pests then says for more go to the website cause there are so many! Be quicker putting down what it doesn't take out!

We have one flee infested room where the dog and indoor outdoor cat slept. Apparently, fleas are now immune from fipronil. I tried vacuuming, boric acid, harts powder with egg kill, some other methrin I never hear of in a powder, cypermethrin, boric acid, imidacloprid, fenvalerate, taking out all the carpet, evacuation and sealing the room, deltamethrin, microencapsulated lambda-cyhalothrin, piperonyl butoxide, eggkill, malathion, mouse bait just to be sure. This was after 2 weeks of wife trying to treat with natural oils, clove and cedar oils, salt, baking soda, vinegar etc... Sealed off for weeks, treatment every 2nd or third day, with above. I am still getting 11 fleas in flea trap per 24 hours, down from the 30, before removing the carpet, which we scrubbed earth and powders into, let set, and repeatedly vacuumed. Pet have double dose of Frontline plus, imidacloprid, and Adams plus, and new tetrachorophos collars, post flea dipped. Obviously, press them for 10 days, but 2 months, the room should be flea free by now. All bed clothes are removed, etc. I think a priest is what I really need..... I had one flea infestation that hit in 2010 or 2011, one cat died of anemia who would hide from the baths. Switching to Frontline, spiking the biferin with caffeine, malathion and eggkill seemed to fix the problem for 10 years, until fipronil resistance arose.

    • @justinrojas3289
      @justinrojas3289 5 лет назад

But a good one to mix with dryone is CB80 . CB80 is a flusher for roaches. For pavement ants use Advion ant gel bait and use it sparingly. Crack and crevice . Remember you will see an rise in the number you see bits that’s them taking it back to the nest . Deal with that for a week maybe a bit more and the colony with collapse .

Btw not to mix like literally mix I mean like a side kick . CB80 will flush . Dryone let’s you hit crack and crevice and then after a few weeks . Bait high Vendetta roach bait works really well . You know do your research and as long as you are the home owner applying your good to go . More importantly. Always use low impact materials!!!!

I've never tried this particular product by Bayer. I've used Tempo SC ultra and Gorgon's Permethrin 10. I used a combo of both to treat bedbugs, chiggers, fleas, and carpet beetles. The Permethrin is toxic to cats. It can be used in a cat room if it's fully dried. I wouldn't want to use it on their bedding or scratching posts. The Tempo does great on Bedbugs. It's very fumey after 30 minutes or so spraying it. It will make baby pet rats sick or die in the area you're spraying. Did not bother the degus, gerbils, or hamsters. The Tempo also does a great job on box elder bugs. I sprayed it for a neighbor that had them. I'm guessing Suspend is a similar product. The Permethrin can be diluted for rose bush control. I've used both for spider and ant control outside of windows. Seemed to work good. I need to download the cut sheet for Suspend to see what it works on.

    • @virginia7125
      @virginia7125 2 года назад

Ok, downloaded it. Seems to be the same active ingredient as Harris black label mixed at 0.03%. It can be mixed at 0.07% for hard to control insects. I noticed this product is safer for cats. The next time I'll add this to my Tempo SC mix.

There is a reason "pros" exist in the use of chemical. These products seem reasonably easy to use. However, when one doesn't understand how a chemical work i.e. how the organism reacts to the chemical or what affect there is, one shouldn't use these chemicals so freely. Some a residual and some have a short life and so on. When a child gets sick or a dog dies because the misapplication of a product........who ya' gonna call?

    • @Dark_ZeRowe

Ben Zeller Im an exterminator and when he keeps using the same chemical over and over the pest will get immune to the same chemical. You need to alternate your chemicals throughout the year every 3 to 4 months change out. If a pest gets exposure to a certain chemical then survives long enough to lay eggs they will hatch with immunity.

Were instructed to call poison control if you got it on you. Instructions said it was only to be used by professionals, and it could not be used on floor coverings, such as carpets or furniture such as sofas chairs where it would come in contact with humans. Can not let return due to its toxicity. Almost $40 wasted.
