    I used to have the exact same timing light as this. Excellent tool, works at much higher rpm than most. The second hole next to the switch was for an optional power indicator. Mine suffered the same fate as this poor tool, and although I don't recall taking it apart to attempt a repair, it's not impossible that that happened. It's been a while. Maybe someday I'll get another one of these, Electronics-Specialties still sells them and they're not too expensive. Like you said, way cheaper than having someone fix it.

      Often cheaper to buy a new device then to pay an hour at typical 'shop rate' to attempt a fix.
