Just curious why you guys still build corners rather than using profiles? Been a Bricky here in Australia for 20+ years. Can do both but always found the profile method to be so much quicker
Love the idea of the line on the wheel . Charlie Where did you get them from? 👍

Was a proper hoddy in London 40 years ago, l have seen a lot of bricklayers and so called bricklayers, loud mouth cockneys, WW2 vets - contrary sods at times, it was always the hoodies fault when a corner had to be taken down, sure half of them were blind poor sods and let's face it they done their bit for King and country and deserved respect which I acknowledged they knew I was Irish, but they never called me Paddy in fairness.Bricklayers bragging about laying 1000 bricks a day and they often did brag , I would just nod my head and get on with it. Of All the bricklayers I have ever tended l can honestly say I only came across one bricklayer who could average that every day and that's important because there is a big difference when you come to opes and he never once in the years we worked together bragged about his work he didn't have to, everyone knew he was a different class to them, never used a power tool, just brick hammers to build arches and you would not believe how neat the finish was. Love watching the artist at work. Nicely done Charlie.
hear hear.
Charlie can you explain why you guys use different colored blocks? Ive seen white, blue, and grey on your jobsites
It just depends what the architect specified I believe.
The white blocks are called celcons and normally used on the outside because they are better for insulation I think they are made from waste from power stations? You can get similar grey thermalite blocks.
Then you also get concrete blocks that are mostly used for internal walls they come in two different types and different densities and weights, 7 newtons and 3.5 newtons. The heavier 7n blocks are used in the partition/jack walls. Sometimes the colour is just down to different manufacturers
@@TommoDobbo-dp1guThat's not what he was asking 😂 when have you ever seen a blue block?
@@TommoDobbo-dp1guAlso it's clinker blocks that are made from waste, the waste was called "Clinker".
Why corners no profiles on this one mate ?
Love watching work. you are fantastic
Nice work! What’s the point of those pillars you’ve done last?
Say if your using steel joists (RSJs) is it a good idea to mark with a marker and pen and levels so they be flush to a external, internal wall to figure out if a building is subsiding or where its happening. Well as some plasterers well they dont give too hoots. And soil composition may change over the years
Well done Charlie and Tom considering how much rain we have had!
Hello bro from Uzbekistan
Loving the watch, cheap and super accurate, water resistant (way more than it says) and it can take a right beating
Yep, I picked one up from Temu for £3 about 9 months ago and its still going strong
Won the best brickie award and you still banging your level
Oh, that old wives tale
College only told you that cos it was their levels getting hammered. In the real world, some levels are strong af. Plus, the time you save you could by shit loads of levels
@@tungstentuktuk24 Dont laugh but when I first started in the trade we had wooden levels and you had to set the bubble vial in the recess with adhesive Then adjust it to the foremans level
Great effort Charlie
Big love from iran 🇮🇷❤🤷♀️Great work
More semolina please TOM! He’s a good lad is our Tom. 👍🏻
Bekommt ihr geld für jeden stein, oder wird pro m2 bezahlt?
Hardly any of the company’s keep
The bricks covered any more
Does wind me up how the building merchants can't supply dry bricks or somehow keep them out of the weather when on site...this country can be so backwards sometimes...🤦
It's the plastic wrapping. Let's water in won't let water out
Bricks for large sites don't come from merchants, they come direct from the factory where they've been sat outside gathering moss for months/ years. They are absolutely soaked before they see a lorry.
Mass Im migration keeps the big construction firms happy.
Building our destruction
Amazing
In Scotland we would have a guy doing the corners and the rest of the squad would be running in at the back of him kept everybody laying
yes mate smash it standers geezer same here bro :D
Those were the days, problem now is arthritis in both wrists. Not nice.
Keep them rolling mate top craftsman 👍
How come your building corners matey
I bet you need profiles and dummy frames.
@@fritzdrybeam no not at all my friend I was taught the old way buy why build corners when profile's are far quicker
@@Fordmad90These days, so called Bricklayers can't build corners, or plumb up a reveal.
That why I avoided site work. I employed one, who was putting the cut side of a bat in a reveal so it could be seen.
I'm not kidding.
Yeah mate I agree rough as anything site work not for me am not a slasher
I often watch these videos thinking realistically, you are just stacking bricks on top of eachother...although graft, it's hardly advanced engineering.
Tried to build some brick steps in the garden at the weekend ... Took me all day to build 3 steps, crippled my back and knees, the bricks pizzed me off and you won't find two level bricks in them..
Why no Dummy frames up the door openings and pillars so much better stops the pillars from sinking with the wet bricks
Why can't you plumb up a reveal, is the issue here.
when you build wet brick always build the corners slack. Also short corners and run 'em in. Wet bricks will roll out with the weight and when you joint them. Mention this because I noticed you were only plumbing from the point you started building today. So the previous work was probably hard to the bubble. Just an observation, not a criticism. You're part of the 1 in 25 group that are naturals.
Could you build concrete block corners like this?
Goes to show it happens to everyone that's why you should always check your lead after you are done jointing it if the bricks are really wet I'll get the propane tank and torch out of the trailer
I won’t lay ( really wet)bricks, slows you up, muck dries out a different colour, bleeding causing smearing and walls pulling out of plumb , if a brick supplier kept the bricks indoors I reckon they would be in high demand come winter
I almost forgot how mind numbingly boring house bashing is, so glad I left site work and went on my own.
Keep the coin hard always old brickie here
if its all cornered up you might lay a 1000 if you carriers jointing up
Красавчик Чарли
Do you need gcse? Left school early no gcse, went army now out looking retrain as brickie
Same problem with all the materials soaking wet.......being left in mud....kin painful aint the word
Hows that ammey geting on .
Hi from Brasil
How they know how menu bricks u plsce or u have to count them lol
We use a gas blower to dry em out works well mate👍
So u lay the equivalent of 1 brick a minute for 16 hours straight? Lol
I used to install solar panel’s so we’d often be last on site and I always used to look at the millions of bricks on these large new builds and think that must be hard graft.
Very nice work man 👍
Wet brick -when it goes off muck don't look the same as we all now -bit off a house basher lol
Muck looks so wet Charlie running off boards m8
Do you get paid by the brick or square foot? I like being an hourly employee 😂 $50.51 is the Union rate in Ontario
Charlie, in winter with wet bricks we use the Gas Burner that the flat roofers use , helps out big time !!
thought about it... id have to get a work permit for it
I’ve got one of the triple prong ones, it’s fucking incredible.
@@CharlieCollisonand a fire extinguisher😂 I’ve got one but I’m on the privates.
Can’t you open some packaging and just cover a few packs up mate?
@@craigstyrin3453 been site to site at the minute all bellways. They take no care with the materials yet want top work
Was on there site in Rockford, was no different! Bricks are soaked before they are even wrapped
YAWN,YAWN,YAWN!!!!
🇲🇦❤️👏
frogs have to be the worst bricks every pack is soaking wet
Try laying Staffordshire blues in the winter thats fun lol
I didn’t no you could build corners Charlie 😂 good work mate 👍
It’s £2 a brick where I’m from. Imagine a brickie on £2000 a day. It’s hard work so fair play.
Good morning looking good 👍 weather is looking cold 🥶 don't miss that weather 😊good luck 👍
Depending on what i was building 1000 was not that hard, today the brickies are happy with 500. i guess the prices are higher now though.
Confuscious he say 'he who never wisten wearn fock all'
Great video shame you couldn't do them 20-30 mins 🙏🙏
You have so many different techniques, something you butter them up other times you pick and dip along with other techniques. Is there a reason why you chop and change?
depends on the brick and muck
I was a brick chipper as a young'un. 800 a day was the goal, I never got there. Maybe 600, 700 on a good day.
My right arm was like Popeye's :) Looked weird, not a selling point in the nightclubs.
1000 day for sure keeps the wolves at bay
I couldnt get ready mix concrete for my path so used mortar. Next day it was still sloppy. Me, wtf?
Apparently mortar wont set unless its under compression.
There. You something new everyday!
That's simply not true, it's just a chemical reaction
@@UnjustifiedRecs oh. Funny how ready-mix sets dead quick when the binding part (cement) makes up a smaller percentage.
Smearing muck on a brick. Great content
Better than you getting chuffed off by your boyfriend
Taking a leaf out of Dean's book now charl no profiles
I think there’s a bit of that here yes!
Collab with @newhomequalitycontrol would be great to see.
999 is all I can do
Don't you ever look at the skill of bricklayers of the past and wish you had their skill, professionalism and attention to detail? Piers with straight joints, purps with no muck in, fairy liquid making the wall stained white. It not just the developers ruining our country it's also the tradesmen, have some pride.
Charlie is the sloppiest bricky around. And for some reason he likes showing off his shoddy work on RUclips 🤷🏻♂️
Pretty good job. Ur a he'll of a mason. Remember, it's not up to u to decide if u fill your closer head joint tight. If not, a step Crack running right up the corner is likely.
Cheers Charlie great having these video's Regularly and 1000 Bricks a day is an excellent figure and a nice little Earner Good Stuff you make it look so easy, Hope yous all have a nice evening Bud till the next one Take it Easy God Bless
Traditional bricklayer isn't a touch on you Charlie boy
So glad I married a rich older woman no more building site crappp 4 me.
What a boring career like lego fir adults.
Rained off today lol
And here you are watching it 😂😂
@@Jim-on6zu yes I watch manual labour break there backs while I'm in my mansion.
Last builders i had in I offered no tea no biscuits just my old lady
Good 👍👍❤
Give me work i want work i'm bricklaer🖐
Can’t you hug the bricks 🧱 so they are nice and warm?
All that for a little over minimum wage
Not even close. £2 per brick or thereabouts, over £1600 for the days work and he was back in the van before 2pm.
Don’t worry, you made the rest up with RUclips 🤣
Didn't he lay 1000?
Why do you guys you tie off your hi vis like that?
Plum every three course that's old school leave it with ya boy
Easy work only a 1000 your slacking well bad must be your elbow tiring out Charlie 😂😂😂😂
Sounds like you are a typical young bricklayer talks out his arse
And the soup of the day is😂
Never hit your level
Mate i must be a super star !!
I lay nearly 800 a day on new builds with dog legs, expansion joints, openings etc.
Mate put me on a wall with none of that mucking around eg nailing stubby ties etc and i will lay more than a thousand a day...
And here's the ball break moment....i load out aaaaannnnndddd mix my own mud !!!!
Some cowboy wants a medal
You must be flying not being able to pay a labourer lol
@@MICHAEL-wg2lh I'd happily pay one that can arrive on time and come to work everyday.
what would you pay a labourer a day to work along side you?
if its not 50/50 split then that's why you cant find a decent hod who turns up on time....
bricklayers making a 2K a day and want to pay 10% max.... mugs game.
@@OutofPlumb-ic5pl So hang on a minute.....if i own a fleet of trucks that i get ongoing work for plus i pay everything...loans, fuel, insurances, etc and then i pay drivers to operate them...do you think that they should all 'share' equally in the company's success ?
You have no idea mate and actually you sound like a pissed off labourer.
I pay top money yet STILL tere are excuses.
Bottom line...new generation is soft
Charl you geting paid if RUclips now over million views .good on you
Any work for me bro ?
No you got kicked off last job you was on I've heard about it
1000 Steine am Tag 😅😅😅😅😅 habe 35 Jahre Akkord gemauert. Der schafft nicht mal 100.
To slow
Cant be that happy if your putting two long ads in your video lol still a good one
I don't think he, or any other 'tuber, put the ads in. RUclips decides which vids to put ads in, how many ads to put in, how long they are and where in the video they get placed - and then does it automatically.
You make it look too easy 😅
Your perps are out lol
Pull it down lol
Never seen worse!!
Pointless 'big' corners bad bad bad
I agree take to much time
You do it like so and don’t muck about 😊😊😊😊
Oyy eyebrows how da fkk you get over 1million subs...
You're not as good as you used to be
More houses for the immigrants 😠😠😠👍🦊🇬🇧
