Thank you! I finally found someone who could explain clearly about the end game and hard more.
I had trouble figuring it out since its not like other games game where you either go back and do the leftover world stuff or to start a new game on hard, in this game its all combined into one.
Glad I could help!
I reccomend going to chapter 12 and doing all the side quests for the manuscripts. If u need mp use a bus stop and cushion
Wait. You can get MP in hard mode from using the bench/cushion?? I figured it would be no MP replenish at all like remake (which sounds like hell I’ll be honest so this makes me so happy)
tbf - it’s not that much of a benefit as most of the hard mode challenge (ie completing chapters) is in dungeons (which only have benches, not the bus / choco bench, so no MP).. as well, if you happen to be short on cushions (and your focus is overworld objectives) you can simply use chapter select and pick any chapter but don’t select hard. Go to the nearest bench / choco bench / inn (wherever) to restore your hp/mp and then go back to where you were (ie chapter select / chapter / choose hard). It’s sounds long but the process takes less than 15-20 seconds. And yes, hard mode is / can be hell. The brutal / legendary vr missions (esp the multi round gauntlets) are not fun. :p Some make the hard story mode look like a joke.
This is good information for everyone! Thanks for sharing!
@@jaysea838 Would you say the legendary challenges are *truly* harder than some of the hard story? I haven't attempted any hard story or cleared many brutal challenges yet, but I've been clearing out the Legendary bouts. And I've only got Cait's left before unlocking the final two.
@@oddbychoice6105 100%.. if you can clear the legendary bouts you should have no issue with the story on hard mode. I mean, of course you will have to adapt (no different than the bouts) but nothing in story mode compares; especially the last 2 legendary bouts. I have now cleared almost all story chapters on hard but still suck terribly at the high level vr’s lol.. even the last chapter 14 boss gauntlet is easier imo.
Very clean and good explanation for hard mode. 👏
Thank you! Hope it helped.
This is gonna be a struggle since I spammed mega mist potion at every inconvenience ☹️
i'm gonna try to have 99 before i even started, lol
@@darkknight2864 the max is 70
No items in hard mode no?
@@ZeeTM yeah.. I don’t think a lot of people realize you can’t use any items and what that really means / how much it impacts the gameplay.
@@darkknight2864You can't use items in Hard Mode
I really respect you trying to deter people that might be going into it without realizing how much of a challenge it that can actually be. I tried it last night and could get past the boss fight in chapter 1 because the boss used ridiculous kill moves and beat me 10 times in a row, but I was lvl 50, didn't plan out my MP usage, and didn't realize you couldn't use items. Like at all, I thought it was only combat but nope. Items basically don't exist in hard mode, in battle or not.
Great Vid!
For reference, I am lvl 70 with almost all maxed out materia (/all side quests complete etc) and still almost had my butt handed to me. I slid through normal mode without a single G over screen (seph almost had me w/ his last second DPS check). The jump in difficulty can be really jarring and absolutely forces you to understand the game / mechanics / particular fights.. I can see a lot of people straying far away from this mode which is kind of a shame since it gateways the platinum. Nvm the brutal / legendary vr challenge; some take mechanic(s) knowledge to a different level.
Yeah being level 70 is a must and it can be rewarding for some but I dont think it is for everyone, which is okay.
Yeah I only had 2 game over screens in my playthrough and hard mode has been really hard. I have two of the VR challenges left and one I have 7 hours of attempts on with no clear. You gotta enjoy the pain lol
@@ZeeTMtbh - I am generally a superboss / post game challenge fan but I haven’t found these to be fun or even rewarding upon completion. It’s more like “thank goodness I never have to do that again” (And I assure you I am paraphrasing to keep it clean lol.) Maybe I am getting too old for this or I’m simply missing something in the mechanics. I’m a relative seasoned rpg’er and raid in FFXIV almost daily which is y the challenge legit caught me off guard. I don’t remember having any issue with Remake hard mode whatsoever. I know the mechanics have changed but still.
@@ZeeTMyou are well ahead compared to me. I only have a couple brutal / legendary vr’s beat and a couple story chapters. I haven’t spent that much time on it mind you but from what I did (esp the VR) I am nowhere close to getting further. I feel like I would be better off focusing on the story to completely upgrade my weapons / complete the folio’s but does it make “that” much of a difference? Would you say the proto gear is a requirement to beat the content? I have them, just haven’t played around with using any.
Small tip but to those struggling with MP / clearing chapters on hard.. you can run from almost all non-scripted battles. Since you should be levelled up at this point (plus have the AP / upgraded materia you need) there is no real benefit to wasting resources. I know some won’t like this way but the option is there and it really does help on a few of the harder chapters.
Yeah I forgot to say that. That is also very helpful tip!
Also, using a cushion at Chocobo stops will restore your MP
Okay so that's not bad as long as hard mode lets you craft@LucasRuge
@@monstercloset2416you can craft but remember you can’t use any items. (Except the cushion of course) it would be primarily for creating the proto relic gear as those are the only items that have hard mode ingredients.
Best xp farm is by far the challenges after the Gilgamesh fight. I beat Gilgamesh before I beat the game and unlocked the level 70 challenges and and maxed out all my characters in 2 hours.
First fight w/ Shinra soldiers in Chapter 13 (Temple) I was mid 40’s and hit 70 in less than 30 min w/ the reset trick.. works w/ AP too but there are far better / faster places to farm that.
I didnt XP farm at all so thats good to know. I was doing all my intel post game so I never had to look for XP.
@@ZeeTM oh nah it’s funny fighting sephiroth at level 70
yeah but how much extra time does it take to unlock gilgamesh. 10+ hrs. u can just go fight world mobs after beating game for bonus exp and ap. hey guys if u play games for 25+ hrs then it only takes 2hrs to max lvls lol.
@@Pureshadow depends your suppose to be doing all the protorellic missions leading up to chapter 13 so not that long. Plus level 70 enemies can drop 3 thousand exp per kill
I was wondering if the AP stacked on that chocobo armband! So glad it does..just finished regular mode and did just about all the side content and all world intel in the regions. Still need that chest at Johnny’s flea shack
Glad I could help!
@@ZeeTMalso, I was trying to understand if you’re saying not to do hard mode till 70? I did everything in normal mode that I could and only 51 - do I need to keep grinding in normal mode?
@@elisehermann6094combat simulator and the arena challenges should get you close to 70 (use xp up materia) if not do all the proto relic intel and do the first brutal challenge even if you can't beat it it'll give you tons of XP
I really wanted to play hard mode but I can’t get past the Midgar Serpent in Chapter 2. I’m level 60 and feel like I take massive damage with no way to avoid it.
I recommend you get to level 70 before you attempt doing anymore hard mode.
@@ZeeTM - Yeah, I’ve been doing much better ever since I hit level 70. Still tough but doable. Those “Brutal” challenges with Chadly, though… sheesh!
Try a lot with elemental + the element you need in armor in order to absorb or negate dmg the boss does for example the midgar serpent👍🏼
Man hard mode in this game is crazy. I was thinking im gonna beat it and go right into hard mode.
Honestly its crazy. I'm not gonna lie after doing some of these challenges I might come back to it later lol I have not been having a good time lol
i finished dynamic mode at level 50 and now i am stucked at chapter 5 with the snake boss 😅 i think i should update all char to level 70 to start hard mode
@anhemtoctai5099 do the kitty side quest on hard mode. don't kill the queen bee, just kill the bees. You'll hit lvl 70 withing like 5 mins or so.
Should be doing them in your first playtrough anyway for every region that’s the man source of materia
I agree. I only got synergy on my first playthrough though.
I will say hard mode has it ups and downs, currently stuck on the terror of the deep but I haven’t given up. I have completed remake on hard so I had to try it on rebirth.
@@Ryan-1269I just saw a clear of one of the last legendary bouts and it took almost 1 full hour to beat lol.. the fight looks epic (Though I wish you could change the VR backdrop) but they really went all out on Rebirth. I found Remake hard very manageable (Though it forced you to actually learn the game which is good).. Rebirth hard mode is something else because of the difficulty spike(s) / variance from normal mode. Def not saying that to discourage you.. just like the OP of this video, it’s more-so an acknowledgment that it’s legit hard and perhaps not in a fun way. Good luck! 👍
To make hard mode easier make sure to MAX some important materia first in normal mode, like MP absorv, swiftcast, petrify, magnify, first strike, ATB boost and etc.
That is a good tip!
How many AP, Manigfy, and Elemental materia can you collect? Remake it was limited
elemental are 3, Magnify is 2. AP i don't not know
Heard AP is 4
Magnify is also 3
I started hard mode right after finishing normal at around level 47 (I only did grasslands and junon areas and saved the others for hard mode). I’m in the mines at the moment and fighting the bosses have been super fun. Took 5 times to beat materia keeper boss in chp 1 and 3 tries for Midgardsomr (changing materia and optimizing on the third try). I can’t imagine being max level would make it too easy I think.
It give you more HP so you have more room for error. Thats about it
if you go hard mode and do the kitty side quest in chapt 12 or 13 I think. kill the bees ,don't kill the queen bee. you'll hit lvl 70 withing 10 mins
@@ivanklaric5341 5mins is all you need!
Doing everything in the game (besides the gilgamesh bosses) has me at level 51. Alot of people seem to get around my level. Put the game in hard mode and farm where this guy showed. Theres also a heyter Gongaga method u van farm with all characters including Cait. Hard mode gives u bonus XP and AP gain.
everything after beating the game gives bonus XP and AP
For anyone that wants a simple way to hit lvl 70 if you beat sephiroth, just replay the grasslands 1 Charley battle. You’ll gain a level or more per completion without xp materia.
On hard not normal btw
Oh thats a good tip
I was really looking forward to playing hard mdoe, since i played haed mode in the last game and got my first platinum.
Them i got stumped xD oh my i dint know if ive got what it takes 🙈
I believe in you! But at the same time respect your own time. Its not worth it if you dont enjoy it!
The double summon fights are such BS. I can't imagine hard mode with such BS boss mechanics.
I was flowing pretty good in hard mode. I have struggled with some of the bosses. The Midgar Zolom was a pain. But then it was cruising until I got to Rufus in chapter 12. Holy jizz. I really can't beat him. I'll try again tomorrow and see how it goes. I'm doing hard mode first and then I'll tackle the legendaddy fights. Although I truly can't win a single Junon rts or the Gears and gambits. I also don't understand the stupid card game. Let's see how it goes. I platinumed Remake twice. But I don't think I'll be able to platinum this one. 😵😵😵👉👌
I wish you luck! I personally think Rufus is the hardest fight in the game.
Anything in hard mode for chadleys vr is way harder then the regular story
I have learned this lol
Why does he keep saying ATP instead of AP?
probs because I am an idiot or ATP is from another game...
Involuntary portmanteau of atb an ap 😂 all good
So Rebirth's Hard Mode similar to FF superbosses for most of the challenging fights? COUNT ME THE FUCK IN!
Its really good. Its not the same exactly but it is pretty close at the end of the day!
@@ZeeTM good so long as it's challenging i will love every second since Remake already had one of my favorite combat systems and Rebirth just made it top dog
I kinda get not using items, but benches not restoring mp is kinda over the top
I dont like that much either
Huh? You mean the sidequest will give more folios on HARD MODE? daeff
Yeah its kind of annoying!
What a snowflaky thing man. You are apologizing for hard mode because it might hurt some people’s feelings…
Ehh I don't really see it like that. Legit just don't want people to waste there time on something that they don't find fun. Hard mode isn't for everyone but its a good thing that its not easy.
So stupid you can't use items. You can't justify it. It's just stupid.
Because it makes the game trivial? Using items puts the game on baby easy mode and can extend out and .cheese fights as well as doesn't make you manage health and MP throughout missions while making sure you rest. Its called Hard Mode for a reason dude.
I agree that not being able to use Items is okay. There is no content that is excluded from game except some VR missions on hard mode so its okay that it is a challenge for sure.
Agreed!
I can justify it. It's called hard mode for a reason 😂
Something that annoys me about this is that I didn't need to use items at all on Normal. It was easy enough. So now that I have 99 of everything, and things are challenging enough to need them, I'm not allowed to use them? Makes the entire item mechanic useless.
Totally get that it makes it harder, no complaints there. But I didn't need one item for the entire game's experience. So what was the point?
