Prisoners & coding: Way to a better life?

- San Quentin state prison in California has begun a ground-breaking programme to teach prisoners how to code. 18 inmates have been selected to take part in a six month course which teaches them essential web coding languages and aims to make them more employable when they leave prison.
The BBC's North America Technology Correspondent Richard Taylor reports.

Even computers freeze!
They made a human error in life, this is just great rehabilitation. I hope to see more of these programs funded across the world!
The main obstacles will still be Society's prejudices against people with a record. I was able to work in government but the other employees found out about my record and conspired to have me removed from my job even though I was an exemplary employee. I had to leave a good job because of this.

Great idea, not s totally new one, but that's okay. I hope in the future prisons can become totally rehabilitative, and humans lose the outdated trait of demanding punishment
