Let's start with the obvious. The green wire coming out of the PAC interface should have plus 12 volt power on it when the vehicle is in reverse. So you need to check that with a multimeter. If it does not have + 12 volt power, something is wrong with the PAC interface or it is not compatible. They claim it is only compatible with 2014 through 18. If you do have power coming from the green wire when in reverse it needs to be connected to the orange wire labeled back on the joying harness. That will trigger the stereo to look for the backup camera signal. You also need to make sure the RCA cable coming out of the pack harness is plugged into the camera in rear view wire on the joying harness. Let me know where you are at with this and the results

There isnt one. You need the can box interface to translate the vehicle request for accessory power and then output the 12volts on the output wire.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone I see...you are a master....thanks very much...God bless you
Do you know if the PAC unit works with a 2020 Honda CR-V? I installed the Joying 10.1 w knob. My reverse camera works but static line don't move and my sensor don't work either.
You should reach out to Joying. I don't believe the lines move on that year of CRV. The sensors should work though. It may be a settings problem with the canbus decoder. The PAC unit would not be correct for your CRV
@@JackofAllMasterofNone I reached out to them earlier this week. They are sending anoth canbus. Not sure if it is same or different. Customer support has been good at best. But all my issues so far have been addressed.
what about the blinking battery and seatbelt light and the check engine light in the gauge cluster? Does that get fixed somehow?
That was not a thing. No lights were onthat shouldn't have been. They always come on when your first start the vehicle.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone oh, in the parts of the video you have that showed the guage cluster those lights were blinking. And I am of course interested in very specifically that stuff because what I read is that that stuff can be a problem when changing out the head unit. I might have missed a part of the video where you showed the gauge cluster without the engine, batt and belt lights blinking.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Oh wait, maybe that was not blinking but rather an aliasing effect from the camera and the lights maybe blinking at a high frequency because of some electronics? But I don't know why those lights would be on a high frequency ac circuit. They certainly don't blink like that for me when I'm in ACC or ON
For instance at 20:07,
It's because they are LEDs. That is just an illusion created by the camera. They are just steady when viewed with your eyes.
What's your camera setting. Just followed everything and have no backup camera
What do you mean? I did an AHD camera. The stock one would be a CVS camera. You do need to set that in the settings or double check.
@JackofAllMasterofNone yea I'm using factory camera. Only have cvbs N and Cvbs P
Also using same dash cam you recommend and no video. Cam is plugged into the long usb cable coming out of joying?
CVBS N is for the factory camera. As far as dash camera, Did you plug the USB cable into the one that is extended out of the back of the unit? You then have to install the program for the dash camera it will show up in the file manager. And then enter the program to view the camera
@@JackofAllMasterofNone yeah I figured everything else out dash cams working units back on I have the factory camera set to n but when I put in reverse the screen doesn't change or at all it's like signal doesn't even get to it
Thanks!
Thanks! What model is the trim kit?

How can I buy?
ok, 3 month check-in do you still reccomend this unit?
Absolutely
@Jack of All Master of None alright, time to do research. I have the pioneer dmh-1500NEX so wondering if I may need as many converters as you did. you happen to have a link for the single din bezel?
Hey man I just updated firmware and now screen won't come on
No idea. Id try a hard reboot. Aka pull the power plug and try to reset. Firmware updates don't cause the screen to not come on, so that is very odd. If that doesn't fix it you need to reach out to joying direct.
What app launcher are you using that has the animated wallpaper?
Just stock one
That radio works on 2017????
Yes
Is there a list of parts?
Description
I have a 2018 promaster and the radio isn’t detecting my camera. Any advice or is there a setting to go to?
Did you use the parts in the video? Does the radio switch to the backup cam screen and just not display or does it not even switch while in reverse?
@@JackofAllMasterofNone
Just followed your instructions to a T on my 2018 Promaster 2500 and I have the same issue - my camera is not detected when shifting into reverse. Do you know the name of the Android app that is supposed to be launched when shifting into R? Any backup camera specific settings I should look at? 🙏
I have a 2019 and followed his instructions, the backup camera doesn't work. The screen doesn't change. anyone figure out the problem?
The can box interface has a backup camera trigger wire coming out of it. You have to connect that wire to the trigger wire on the Joying unit. Then double check that the backup camera trigger is turned on in the Joying factory settings.
@@kemprandy Try this and see if it helps ruclips.net/video/9TIHzWq-fig/видео.html
Great video, and upgrade! I wish I could do this on my 2018 but the PAC interface has not been updated to include model years beyond 2015.
I just successfully installed it on my 2021 Promaster today. It should work!!!
@@nylahtay did you use the PAC interface? I think I'm going to call them and see what they say about using it on a 2018?
@@bkk6211 yes, I used the exact same PAC interface as was linked in the video description. I know, I took a chance, but it totally works.
This is great info for others. Thank you
Does Android Auto or this unit offer any remote start options?
No
@@JackofAllMasterofNone thanks! I wish it did, it would justify me getting one of these. Without it, I'll probably just get a new tablet
