@@dannydrumplayer2802 Or the VI (six major) if you displace it up, you're not relegated to just diminished chords, but more importantly this line of reasoning sort of misses the point of the comment which instead was a reference to Amadeus
It's a fugue but some music purists would tell you that a fugue is a piece of music exclusively written in a fugal way and that the Kyrie Eleison part is just a part of the piece written in fugue 😒, like it's only about words the meaning is the same so whatever these purists say, yes it's a fugue/written in fugue and in my opinion the best portion of that song, even though the operatic beauty of the Christe Eleison part is rivals with the most sublime arias, and in my opinion even trump them, there's nothing like heavy counterpoint, a lot of musical momentum, a choir, in a minor key, loud and the whole thing with deep harmonies, successive voice entries, etc... in music
I prefer Arleen Auger, and Lucia Popp is my second choice. Popp does a beautiful job! Petitbon is terrible in comparison to Auger and Popp! It sounds like she's just singing the notes, rather than the music!!
Overall, a poor performance. I far prefer Bernstein - Auger - von Stade - Lopardo - Hoffman. Here, Petitbon sounds like she's singing the notes rather than the music! Disappointing, since I am a William Christie fan!
When the soprano reaches a low a flat and jumps to two octaves higher in the following measure... just mesmerising!
that moments always gives me goosebumps
Do you mean 4:00 A?
Thanks for the extra coolness
Just Mozart's wife Thingzzz...
Absolutely marvelous ! There’s nothing quite like the beauty in the Christe Eleison to lift one’s soul to the divine. Thank God for Mozart!
Such mastery... Is just amazing.
Beautiful. And good for practising.
Sang this yrs ago in Victoria bc . GREAT piece if music.
Perfeição Divina.
es hermosa
I wish my late mother could have sung this
ooo mozart u are not a gentleman to the soprano on 4.05
Bb and Ab bellow ???
Yes, I finded out 10 minutes after posting the comment
Displace one note, and there would be diminishment.
Displace one phrase, and the structure would fall.
Actually when you move (displace) the fifth in a minor chord you get a diminished chord, so, yeah.

@@timotejbernat462 Was going to say that, could be augmented... but not augmented in a good way.
is than kyrie fugue or Canon?
It's a wonderful fugue indeed.
Check out the Kyrie from the Requiem in D minor for more great fugue!

I used to made it my alarm when I was in Kyoto 😂
I prefer Lucia Popp

So requiem and great mass isn't the same?
Both unfinished tho
a bit flat
Unequal and unbalanced choir.
