6:40 - I think the fact that energy converters can turn off in this game makes them so so good! In ota I would frequently build too many of them too quickly and bleed myself dry of all energy haha. I don't have any experience with TA ESC or ProTA so idk when the converter threshold control was introduced but that tiny little control is one of my fav features in bar!
I love watching long, hard fought, and drawn out team games like this, especially when it was an even fight for so long. I also love playing them, but man can they get exhausting. I had a 100 minute game a while back that turned an 8v8 into basically a 2v3. I could possibly link you the rec if you wanted to check it out.
1:22:10 It's not as much as it's the unit limit as it's the player's not knowing what to do beyond spamming light units, due to BAR's economy being exponential you are supposed to upgrade the unit 'tier' you're spamming faster than the enemy can so you can crush them with same amount but superior units.
That was an epic battle. I listened to this while working today, and finally finished it. I think that the blue team should have deployed mobile anti-nuke and more artillery, although cortex tactical nukes or nuke bombers could’ve helped to break the stalemate as well.
Rather then lower the epic amount of units there has to be a way to lower the units res when it gets to a certain number of units on the field make everything less detailed to make it still playable
10:02: Great spot for Mines. 24:15: Even after losing these 2 bases, Blue Team still ahead in eco. 25:02: Now that's a nice bit'o Reclaim! 26:50: I stand corrected! =O 30:10: Real nailbiter of a save, twice! 31:04: Dear god! =0 31:25: Titan, Thor, and Razorback all D-gunned in a couple seconds, and Com gets away. Slick. 34:05: Utter chaos! I have no idea what's going on, but I love it! xD 37:40: Oh god, not again! 45:00: The brutality! =0 46:05: I love cinematic shots in these games. Casters need to use it more. Blue Team has been ridiculously far ahead in eco almost the whole game, yet still the fights are equal. 1:06:04: Ragnarok duels... WTF is this game xD 1:08:05: Definitely the most Metal I've ever seen on a battlefiled =OOO Also, Blue's base doing the wave (goodbye)! It's good; 65% income advantage was excessive ;p 1:10:50: 319k Metal... I stand corrected again. So many Titan and Thor corpses it's barely passable terrain. Insane! 1:13:30: Well, they got one bombing run in... with their corpses. 1:24:05: That 1st Nuke explosion was so beautiful xD 1:28:20: Holy waterfall of rockets!! =O And Thor is unimpressed ;P 5k Metal income... jesus.
Thank you for the upload, but if you speed up at 2x you cant afford to linger too much on detail in a recluded corner of the map, after purple blew up at 25:00 we totally missed the engagement of the frontlines in the middle, maybe better to keep at map view level to appraise what is happening, else we lose the flow of the game. Ty for the uploads!
@brightworksgaming Been watching you grow as a caster from the earlier games (with the unpopular music in the closing). I've really enjoyed your games and cast so far, keep up the good work ser!
hahaha and I appreciate all the support! just listening to the audio quality of those first videos compared to recent ones makes me happy with my own improvement. heres to 100 more videos :D
I've seen games of dawn of war hit like 12,000 casualties each for like 6 different teams. The bodies of marines, aliens and guardsmen just piled into choke points and flank routes. I'd love to see the destruction count for units killed after any one of these games.
1:20:00 yeah, long gameplay is always fun to watch. A thought, if it's becoming tiering to cast long gameplay, consider casting with another community member. Get some counter duologue, some perspective. Idontknow, something new, yeah?
Crank up the unit icon size -- The engine doesn't render units that are covered entirely by their unit icons so larger icon = more covered units = more FPS. That being said, I think it's an engine issue. I played a 10v10 barbarian AI match and my GPU was barely hitting 50% capacity while my FPS chugged HARD. I think multiple identical units aren't being batched into the same draw call which is what most modern RTS do to make their GPU programming more efficient. Some server issues too since the gamespeed tanked but it would at least help with the players all struggling at the end
This is a really cool looking game, have you considered making a "what is this game" video or if you already have one consider linking it to the videos
A lot of these I don't keep on my computer long but one option is to go to the BAR website and search for matches containing all these players and you should be able to narrow it down fairly quickly!
Ahh sometimes all the artillery can really bog down RUclips. I do the same thing for every video but sometimes RUclipss compression messes up the audio or video and it's hard for me to see on my end. Thanks for letting me know!
- Starwatcher is not really that similar to All That Glitters. I adore Starwatcher, but disdain Glitters - 5 out of 6 games a noob occupies the hardly-defensible gorge (because experienced players don't like hardship for the sake of victory, apparently) and as such it is then rushed by a 3-4 player push that tears down the enemy backline, and whichever does that first wins. Starwatcher is a much better balanced map in all aspects, and is more similar to Hades Ponds, which is just a bit more cramped. - I feel like most of these ultra-spam situation can be resolved by simply spamming T2+- units instead of increasing the amount of Tick/Grunt spam. I mean, in this situation, spamming Centurions/Jaguars would turn around any tick/pawn wave back to the labs, just because how easily those can shred through them. Also instead of spamming units yourself, you can just place a bunch of Beamer here and there with air cons, which absorb spam waves easily, and focus on amassing more efficient unit formations to push with. - Personally I prefer to use LRPCs instead of lolcannons, because of how easy they are to setup and how it is a bit harder to spam plasma shields earlier in the match. - Also, I think its quite a viable breakthrough method to amass a large group of Razorbacks instead of making Titans, because Razorbacks have the highest DPS per attack type, can both shred ground and air, and are quite fast and harder to stop by Zeus/Titan groupings.
Usually you're supposed to have a finisher, everyone had ample time to bring out the finishers yet they just decided the t1 meta is the solution, which it really isn't.
On one hand I can see the pure hearted joy in shaking free of the supply limited bonds of other RTS games and pumping out as many units as quickly as possible, but definitely once the game starts moving at half speed it might be time to wrap things up XD
My wife: "I'm going to bed, we have to work tomorrow." Me: "OK, I'll just finish this game" 3AM: "What are you still doing up!!?! You said one more game!" 😬
Why some ppl never deconstruct their windmills after they got afus these days? Late game it's a recipe for disaster... Already got afus deconstruct them, make more afus or shields. The enemies hit youre windmills and it cause chain explosion further dmging the afus and in some cases it blow up the construction bot so now nothing repair the afus. Just deconstruct those windmills after you got 2-3 afus for heaven sake. And it eats alot of space too, a space you need to spam T1 bots(centurion)/air(shuriken)/other factories.
this is exactly what i love aout TA or BAL .. 6 hours or more million tropps and thousands of nukes :D :D yeah spent whole days with dudes in the basement battling it to the next week :D :D in TA you could overwrite the unit limit and make it 5000 .. the game didn´t really move after that :D speed like 10% ..
This kind of situation is why the Zero-K team got rid of (direct) energy to metal conversion. But I like my games with converters personally. Then I see replays like this and think "Okay maybe they have a point..."
I downloaded this replay and still had over 90 fps @ this phase of the game. 7800x3d handles it fine. May be worth an upgrade if ur going to keep doing these types of videos....
The game logic is decoupled from the visuals. FPS is almost strictly GPU limited in this game. You can be getting 90 FPS, and still have a game play at 50% speed, due to overwhelming unit numbers, crushing the logic loop.
I do not know if this is a fun/interesting game to cast. So far I watched about 12-15 BAR matches and every time the team that had more Energie after the first quarter wins. This makes it kind of boring.
These are the kinda casts where you just grab a 6 pack of your favorite beverage and just have fun
Hahaha damn right!
This was the most entertaining PowerPoint presentation I've ever seen ❤❤❤

Yeah that's a good point!
Exactly, eventually they could have been streaming T2 and some T3 support, or truly 'shatter their skies' levels of nukes in a volley.
I was begging someone to build a Starfall. Both teams had the juice to do so.
@@DaniRadriendil I'm not sure starfall existed yet in the time of the video.
The close up shots are awesome. Thanks for this video! 💜🙏🏾
Thanks for the feedback anand :)
yeah but pause more
Amazing very long war. And those gold star ticks hidden behind the labs at the end 😂
Enjoy your casting. Please keep it up.
It's not as cinematic, but removing ground scaring and reducing particles, might help keep the frame-rate a bit more stable.
Thank you mate, I appreciate that :)
That was an epic battle. I listened to this while working today, and finally finished it. I think that the blue team should have deployed mobile anti-nuke and more artillery, although cortex tactical nukes or nuke bombers could’ve helped to break the stalemate as well.
I just got back from slowly torturing a bunch of lynels to death with a back scratcher in Zelda, tears of the kingdom. Perfect pallet cleanser.
Man I really need to get tears of the kingdom...
This is the first game i havw watched after subbing!!
Just wow
TA fan here just getting into Beyond All Reason
kEEP THE GD WORK!
I’m loving all your videos man super educational as I’m new to BAR keep up the good videos man !!
Glad to hear it mate :)
Way to power through! Thanks!
Good video. Not really watching for the format but you're a good presenter . Stay positive
Haha absolutely fair, I appreciate the feedback and the support!
Gooood lord. That was a loooong match. never surrender never give in!
Rather then lower the epic amount of units there has to be a way to lower the units res when it gets to a certain number of units on the field make everything less detailed to make it still playable
I do like longer casts, love to see the big tier 3 units. I don't know how red team lost, I thought they had it when south broke.
glad to hear it!
Blue had more eco the entire time, by a lot.
10:02: Great spot for Mines.
24:15: Even after losing these 2 bases, Blue Team still ahead in eco.

300K metal laying on the ground... WTF LOL

Keep em comin' ! 😉
Hahaha thanks for the feedback mate, I appreciate it :)
25:46 must be so frustrating for purple to see this Thor decimate these wrecks by accident
I feel that pain, I was in a 1 vs 8 BarAi and ended up like that battle, 2.7 mil metal in the meddle as dead units.
Thanks for the feedback, you're definitely right! Apologies for the missed action
This was fun to watch! Can't wait to see when computers are strong enough to handle massive battles games like this.
Right? My ole rig can handle it decently but imagining these scale of battle on a super computer running perfectly smoothly sounds awesome

what a late-game!

Wow what a battle , it’s like they didn’t have the combos right just didn’t change up but wow crazy game
Pheeeeeewwww...what a match. Like watching Rocky 2.

It might actually be more fun without metal converters. This 1.5hr attrition is more work than fun.
