    That looks like a nice set for home use. I will say that most of the no name brands will rip through the battery in no time. I take my battery out when I'm not using it. Nice demo.

    I bought these a couple years ago and they're still going strong. I reload ammunition and I tested these on a case gauge which is machined exactly 2.800" and these are dead nuts. Let me put it this way, I trust these calipers with 55,000psi going off next to my face. They are that good. But I'm stopping by because I picked up the new model and I want to learn how to use the USB to computer feature and I'm not sure which cable I should use.
    Edit: DTCR-03 RS232 is the data cable that work with these calipers. I also bought
    Twidec/10A 250VAC Momentary Nonslip Plastic Foot Pedal Switch SPDT NO NC Handsfree Gray Foot Switch for CNC Industrial with 1M Cable FS-201
    The plug that comes with the data cable is a type of stereo plug. The back side has female ports that say - and +. The foot switch that I bought has three cables; red, black, white. The white and the black is what you need to use. I extended the cable by about 5 feet. White goes to positive on the plug and black goes to negative on the plug. Now you can plug the foot switch via the plug into the data cable and use the foot switch to input numbers into Excel.

    Mine are hopeless, the display is so hard to read like the battery is flat. But it does this with fresh batteries regardless of the battery brand.

    For the money, it looks like a decent caliper. It also got decent reviews on Amazon, 4.6 out of 5 stars.

    Are u really testing its accuracy with a plastic card???????!

    • @SevenFortyOne
      @SevenFortyOne  2 года назад +1

      No, not testing accuracy just checking to see if it works as expected. I don't need metrology lab accuracy, I just need to know if the thing is in the ballpark

      Oh - and that's not plastic. Its a circuit board that was manufactured with known dimensions and tolerances.

    I have these and they turn themselves on all the time and kill the battery. Auto-ON is the dumbest "feature" ever on calipers.
    Turn them off, set them down...and BAM, they turn themselves back on.
