Nice work as usual Trevor! You're right that these "mostly air" digital tuners from the late 80's to 90's are pretty rugged and competent. Sony, Technics, Kenwood et al. They're great to have around for swapping in and out of various audio set-ups when you need a tuner. Thanks for keeping it in service! - jrh
I see a lot of places on that board with screen printing and drilled holes but no components, I always wonder what would happen if you installed all the missing components, would it be an upgrade or would you need a different front panel to take advantage of that ? I know sometimes manufacturers use the same PCB for different models and just use the components they need and sometimes they need different features for different regions but it always makes me curious to see what would happen if you added them, especially when there are so many like on that board.
I like a quickie ! What do you do if the quartz lock loop chips go bad? You are back to not being able to find parts because the manufacture didn't give a #### about repairability.

I suspect the same board is used in different models which are similar.
Alright! Alright!

Must be Canadian, never seen that cleaner. Some WD/40 and a paper towel will do wonders to that case, old paint loves oil.
It is vinyl wrap
