The best part of the new combiners is that combiner port. I can see them easily adding that to future figures so any figure can be part of a combiner team...
I didn't know the nose cone bent in real life. I looked it up. It's called a "droop nose." It droops during take offs and landings to help the pilots see the runway better. And all this time I thought it just feeling down. Aww... Lol
Happy new yer Emgo!! The reason the nose is on a joint... Look up Concorde, a famous super sonic jet that was scrapped some time ago, used by the British and the French airlines, very popular, very expensive to run and fly on. Though it was fast, it could get from London to new York in a couple of hours, which is amazing! When it took off and landed, the nose would dip, a design feature.
I really dig Silverbolt's alt mode. It's inspired on some NASA designs for an american SST that got canceled when the Concorde crashed. The drooping nose was a safety feature to improve pilot visibility during takeoff and landing. That's a detail Hasbro forgot on their Universe Silverbolt. I appreciate that little detail
I Transformed my Silverbolt so much in the first two days, the hinge broke on the Silverbolt-chest/Superion-neck piece. Right where the plastic is at it's thinnest, so everyone beware! Keep an eye on the forming stress marks. Had to order another one and donate the slightly used bot to a young nephew and be careful with the new one. The antenna replacement parts are a good investment also.
The nose cone is reminiscent of the Concord jet. It's nose cone folded down for landing just like that, I believe it was some kind of air break that helped with landing... I think that was what they were going for with this alt mode...
love your reviews they are do much fun to watch. On another positive note I also love your little stop motion skits at the end, could you make more stop motion's?
I think this is great Both Silverbolt and Superion look good. This is indeed a nice way to get these combiners. These are quick to transform and combine for kids to play with. Silverbolts nosecone and superions antenna are soft for safety reasons.
If we took the size and bulk of 3rd parties and added the simplicity and playability of Hasbro, and you got yourself, the best combiners ever! 3rd party combiners just looked to messy for me.
I love how you keep referring to drag strip as there new buddy. awesome review I like how you come at this figure with an unbiased and then give your opinion at the end most reviewers I've watched are very hesitant and feel like there trying to like this. any way cant wait to get him in hand and you and loriplan have a great new year
The nose is on joint because, Silverbolt is a originally a Concord. The Concord was a french-british airliner that can fly at mach 2 speed. In fact, the nose was a shield, and for landing, the nose down.
I know there is a third party out there that is doing it already and it does look and work amazing. But printing your own is way cheaper and with some post processingvit can really look great
the reason why the nosecone tilts down is because silverbolt is a concorde jet. When the plane lands the nose needs to be pointed downwards or else the pilots can not see. :)
Hi Emgo, great review. Can you please make an update video for this once the last Aerialbot comes out? I believe it'll be Air Raid, and also can you also get Combiner Wars Powerglide? I hear it transforms into Superion's gun, (or combines with his gun to make an even bigger gun), just to show how it looks like overall. Thanks
It would be funny when you do the Optimus Prime/ Orion Pax Skit to reiterate on the bot sized washer and dryer. Jetfire- "Sir.... your looking quite... How should I put this, large." Prime- "Yea, I went through the wash. But unlike a certain Dinobot, I air dried. Stay tuned, Prime Out *Classic Transformers sound* Pizza Bagels.."
I just bought this Silverbolt from an antique shop. the plane mode looks better when you join Superion's chest plates together. I got this piece without a box or gun so I didn't know its name until I searched for it. Coincidentally I also have the Beast Wars Silverbolt
Woohoo! We're about to see some Superion, well 4/5 of Superion but still,Woohoo! And happy new year to everyone on youtube, facebook, twitter, instagram and people who are still on My Space.
I know this is an old review but the reason why the nose cone is on a hinge joint is because silver bolt is based on Concorde and they have bend nose cones
I'm getting to buying some of these combiner wars figures and will be getting this silverbolt in a lot with several others for a very good price. I have a skywarp already and it's my favorite version so far. The possibility isn't as nice as the earthrise one but the size makes up for it to me. I don't mind that the robot is visible from the bottom in alt mode. It's how it was when I was a kid. Is it nice when it hides away better, yeah no question, but it doesn't bother me when it isn't. Love the channel!
Maybe the jet mode has a ball jointed nosecone to represent the G1 Concord plane, which actually had an adjustable nose in reality, but not in the Transformer.
I’m guessing the reason for a jointed nosecone is because Silverbolt is based on a Concorde of which the nose cone moves to allow for the speeds it could reach in reality?
LOL, the gun reminds me of the Joker's gun from the Keaton/Nicholson Batman movie. Was looking at the hip joint, was hoping to flip it around to hide the pin. But looks like it goes all the way through.
emgo316 LOL that was a fun ending! really awkward hahaha! but seriously, that scale is awkward too. Aerialbots are jet fighters and should be bigger than OP? Nice review btw! Thanks.
I see what you are saying about the 3rd party figure, but yeah I respectfully disagree :) Uranos looks too complex, the Hasbro one looks more G1 and simple? Why not (Dare I say!) simpler? I agree hasbro's is skinny in the thigh, but I like the look of it, looks official, simple and G1 awesomeness. Also the price, he is soo much cheaper than TFC's Uranos. Great figure, can't wait to make shelf space for him lol!! Sorry for the many comments man, I'm bored, slightly tipsy and you rock!!
Andrew Lewis that's... basically what I said in the review lol. It's simple, playable, fun to mess with. Uranos really isn't complex though, the transformations are straight forward and don't do anything fancy. And it's funny how in this age of complaining about figures being too simple the "too complex" thing still gets thrown out there LOL. Thus is the transformers fandom: never happy.
I will be honest I am happy with the Hasbro one, it is just a shame that third party companies can put them down so easily, but their figures are expensive, makes me wish Hasbro would team up with them instead of competing.
Silverbolt is a Concorde modified concorde, the concorde had a "droop snoot" which means the snoot (nose) can droop (drop) this was because the Concorde had a very high angle of attack on landing because of the delta wing design so thats why the snoot droop, now u know😊
What I don't get is why they haven't made one where the piece between the wings is his body, the wings (if there were thrusters on them to bulk them up) are his arms, and the front of the plane splits in half to make his feet. Pretty simple, would look good, and is no longer a jet with a folded-up robot on the bottom. It would also be the first transformers jet with almost perfectly little-to-no visible robot pieces at all. Seriously. I believe that that would be possible.
I like this guy, not just because I sat out Uranos, but between Landfill (yellow Giant), Quantron, and Toyworld's Throttlebot team, I like the idea the Autobot's don't have an exact match to Decepticon biggest combiners. You know... outside a themepark worth of dinobot squads >:D
i hope you review the wings of uranos add on kit. i like both to tell the truth and hasbro has hit my G1 Gspot with the look and with articulation! great review as always and i always love the skits you make in the end. keep up the excellent work.
Man, 2015 is gonna be a GOOD year for Transformers, am I right? RID, Combiner Wars, the end of AoE, some other thing I'm sure will appear by summer. (I wonder how Mascot will react/has reacted to BIONICLE 2015.)
i agree with your opinion emgo and from the video on the combiner comparison section i think for your tfc Hercules you should get rage of Hercules upgrade set because it make your Hercules look better i know it because i own the whole tfc Hercules set
I've got this Superion! but it beggars belief why they released Drag Strip with it? You don't HAVE to buy Drag Strip...you could either buy 2 of the same Arielbots which would give it that symmetry in either arms or legs! or just wait til the wave 2 comes out & get the final Arielbot then(which could be a long wait), I like how Silverbolt does pay homage to the G1 figure(even though his robot kibble is stuck underneath in his jet mode!).
Hey know this is an old review... But my son and I both watch you pretty religiously.😊 big question? Have CW silverbolt.. Actually have 2. And for some reason the left leg is wobbly, you experience same issue. Just seems strange.. Any insight?
+Jimmy Yuhas I have that issue. I think it was right leg not sure.. But yea, its there for some of figures. It doesnt effect anything, still stands well when its robot mode. But its better to be a little careful when you transform it.
yup, there was a whole episode about in the G1 cartoon, and i think slingshot was complaining that silverbolt shouldn't be leader. There's your transformer fun fact of the day :P!
Hey emgo, if someone hasn't posted this yet, I think the actual Concord jet had a movable nosecone, which could be what Hasbro carried over to the figure. Just saying, why not? Lol
I had my Superion posed leaning backwards in an awesome shooting pose had to move the heel toe thing in the back of the foot to get him that way it was great. I also got him to stand in a one legged stomping pose and a side kick pose this is one of the best combiner figures I have ever had!
I just bought a LOT of transformers, got and 18" devastator, and this aerial guy, plus like 7 different variations of Optimus prime, in one he's a Trex, for 10 bucks.
Why is Dragstrip printed as Superion's right arm...? It's on every single one of the Aerialbots' packages except for Air Raid, who's in the right-arm position.
I didn't know that until later, forgot to change comment =p I got all 5 on eBay as a bundle when this review came out so I didn't know they were separate waves.
Darkmount Reviews Well, from the Viewpoint of a Stop Motion Animator, I realize that Uranos is most likely just too damn heavy to have in poses beyond standing up. I'll probably just be waiting for the CW Defensor to come out. =)
Meh. I can pose my Uranos pretty well. I'm guessing CW will be more "playable" but TFC poses much better than Herc does. Only 3p combiners better are FP Menasor and MakeToys quantron cuz they put rubber on the feeties.
Darkmount Reviews Well, I mean, if Quantron can handle Stop Motion posing, then I'd probably get it. I am in love with the character designs; I just worry that their joints would be relatively loose due to weight. Does your Uranos have that issue at all?
I would be amazed if he couldn't. He is SUPER stable. His feet basically stick to the ground. My Uranos has some hip issues where he always want to stand to one side, but his feet stay pretty firm on the ground unless I have him on my slippery review space. :P
I hear what you say about looks and all. But Hasbro is not a fan based toy company. It is a toy company. These combiners do homage a bit but also provide great toys for kids. That said Superion and all these combiner toys deliver. Really well. These new lines will keep Transformers alive for at least another decade. And that makes me happy. So 3rd party will never win.
David Nieuwenhuis that's what I said in the review. It's a good, fun toy. Though I'm sure some would contend that Hasbro needs to be more fan based. Doesn't make any difference to me though. Though this series is a big improvement over what they've been doing with combiners lately, they still can't beat what the 3rd parties are putting out. They win based on price, but that's it. But hey, agree to dissagree.
emgo316 I do not say the 3rd party are better or worse. More like. Apples and pears. If someone like myself wants to see TF like more of the original. Both by Hasbro and Takara then I hope for more of this. Because people will buy it for their kids. Reasonable price etc. Also the new RID line. I personally do not care much for it except a few of them but i see how this will be great for the new generation of youngsters. Thus for me both the RID and combiner wars are awesome. What it comes down to is that i don't see many parents getting those 3rd party figures for their kids. Btw love your reviews. Nothing wrong with what you said haha.
I dunno if theres an obvious answer to this but.... When all these guys are combined (This applies to every combiner), whose personality/existence is present? Is it (In this case) Silverbolt? Or Do Superion, Menasor, Devastator etc have their own mind and awaken when the lot of them combine?
In the old G1 it was usually a combination of the personalities of all the different combiners. I'm not sure how it's handled in this new continuity though.
That ending skit was AMAZING! Dude, you just get funnier and FUNNIER! Keep up the good work, and thanks for being my favorite reviewer ever!
The best part of the new combiners is that combiner port. I can see them easily adding that to future figures so any figure can be part of a combiner team...

The droop snoots
The droop snooted

Me too
Dude! You 're the best reviewer on RUclips! To the point and funny to watch at the same time. Keep up the good work!
Enjoy your video reviews. They are always funny. Looking forward to getting these combiners
if you got issue with superion's thin legs, you can put 2 guns (especially 2 skydive guns) on silverbolt's arms to make it bigger.

21:24 I love this part.
Love the Dragstrip parts. They're just awesome.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and cool silverbolt funny ending
The nose bends as a reference to his g1 form as a concord passenger jet
If we took the size and bulk of 3rd parties and added the simplicity and playability of Hasbro, and you got yourself, the best combiners ever! 3rd party combiners just looked to messy for me.
At 3:04 it's because it's called a droop snoot
I love how you keep referring to drag strip as there new buddy. awesome review

most reviewers I've watched are very hesitant and feel like there trying to like this.

Andrew Lewis Why are 3rd party figures soo expensive ?
DetectiveBarricade You're funny , that still didn't explain why they are expensive Barry
Sorry I will edit that, I mean TFC not Fansproject, I had had a few :)
it seems that there are only two ways for a jet to transform either you have a jet with a robot under it or a shell former with a lot of floppy bits
Joshua Whetsell true.
Silverbolt is a Concorde modified concorde, the concorde had a "droop snoot" which means the snoot (nose) can droop (drop) this was because the Concorde had a very high angle of attack on landing because of the delta wing design so thats why the snoot droop, now u know😊
That ridiculously long barrel reminds me of the gun the Joker used to shoot down the Batplane with in one of the movies.

Happy New Years
A DECEPTICON HAS BREACHED OUR PERIMETER!!
A kind of homage to our French concord with this nose cone 😁 but still the same big not stuck under a plane 😕
Concords' nose cones dipped when they landed so that the pilot could see the run way.
2:56 Silverbolt has a joint with soft plastic because he is supose to be the supersonic aircraft TU-144
TheWahren Productions *supposed
englishrussia.com/2013/06/03/world-first-supersonic-aircraft/
I personally like to imagine that the block of robot underneath the plane is some sort of storage for something
i hope you review the wings of uranos add on kit. i like both to tell the truth and hasbro has hit my G1 Gspot with the look and with articulation! great review as always and i always love the skits you make in the end. keep up the excellent work.
I have the repaint version of the figure (scattershot) In my opinion it's this for its combination mode, 2 Pretectobots and 2 combaticons.
Superion is the best combiner out of all of the rest because the torso, as in Silverbolt is really sturdy
Hey Emgo, quick question. Are you gonna get the Perfect Effect add-on kit for the Combiner Wars figures when it releases?
I have yet to get any of the newer figures. I hope they come in retail soon.
Finally, It took me a year to find this guy in a store(Im from south america)
Man, 2015 is gonna be a GOOD year for Transformers, am I right? RID, Combiner Wars, the end of AoE, some other thing I'm sure will appear by summer.
(I wonder how Mascot will react/has reacted to BIONICLE 2015.)
The nose cone is a jet gimmick for the concorde sst which is the jet mode of silver bolt look up images and youll see
i agree with your opinion emgo and from the video on the combiner comparison section i think for your tfc Hercules you should get rage of Hercules upgrade set because it make your Hercules look better i know it because i own the whole tfc Hercules set

Totally agree about TFC Uranos, but I just might get the hasbro version and keep it in box
Happy New Year!
Oh one more thing...you forgot to do a size comparison with Superion & FOC Bruticus!(I did in my video, they're the same height).
I think both superions look good. But I'm going to have to agree with emgo. I think uranos looks abit better to me, especially with the add on kit.
Hey know this is an old review... But my son and I both watch you pretty religiously.😊 big question? Have CW silverbolt.. Actually have 2. And for some reason the left leg is wobbly, you experience same issue. Just seems strange.. Any insight?
+Jimmy Yuhas I haven't had that problem
thanks bro. your videos rock. we really enjoy them. guess the leg thing is just our luck. be well.
+Jimmy Yuhas I have that issue. I think it was right leg not sure.. But yea, its there for some of figures. It doesnt effect anything, still stands well when its robot mode. But its better to be a little careful when you transform it.
+Nevzat Mutlu meto
+danial visram whats meto ?
03:04 - That's what concords looks like in the past
The wings on his back should connect to the wings near the cockpit.
YOU WILL STAY HERE YOU. WILL. STAY. HERE!
Silverbolt is afraid of heights?
yup
yup, there was a whole episode about in the G1 cartoon, and i think slingshot was complaining that silverbolt shouldn't be leader. There's your transformer fun fact of the day :P!
Pokemon Batman You have just won 2 tickets on board Silverbolt's Jet mode !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***** He was made from a low flying cargo plane I believe , in the episode The Key to Victor Sigma parts 1& 2 , I believe that's the episode name
Swipe TV Can i take the cash prize instead? I'd rather not ride on a plane afraid of heights... T~T
love your reviews, you're hilarious!! just subscribed...
You can get powerglide, he has a 3rd mode that turns into Superions gun
Hey Em to the G, when will you review the CombWars wave 2 Menasor limbs? Or aren't you planning to get them?
Great Vids!
Happy new year
i badly want the combiners but i wont know when their going to see it over in the UK.
p.s. love the gag at the end
No g1 Silverbolt robot mode comparison?
I just bought a LOT of transformers, got and 18" devastator, and this aerial guy, plus like 7 different variations of Optimus prime, in one he's a Trex, for 10 bucks.
I have him,firefly,quickslinger,skydive,and air raid,but there're combiner wars and I don't have the helicopter
dragstrip's part in the skit is super funny
Are you going to get blustreak or cliffjumper or anybody that you didn't get that is from the g1 cartoon?
I bought Scattershot at Target, kinda regret it cuz I saw Computron on BBTS. Might get Computron though, then I'll have two Scattershots
You just HAD to put Uranos in there. You just HAD to make me want Uranos more than Superion.
Apples and oranges, man. Do you want a solid toy, or an ass-kicking collector piece?
Darkmount Reviews Well, from the Viewpoint of a Stop Motion Animator, I realize that Uranos is most likely just too damn heavy to have in poses beyond standing up. I'll probably just be waiting for the CW Defensor to come out. =)

Great words from Konata Izumi herself
Wtf
Konata Izumi your profile pic made me think of +XLucyX.
Which third party not Predaking do you suggest?
I would recommend feral rex. I heard that TFC's version was very flawed
+emgo316 silverbolt is going to kill mascot
+emgo316 silverbolt is going to kill mascot
+emgo316 silverbolt is going to kill mascot
Luke carney
Hey what is that guy doing here?
Great review as always! Precious!
I am working on some upgrades for Superion: hands, feet and beefing the legs. I would like your input.
Emgo did you know that silver bolt based on Concorde the super sonic passenger jet?
He already knows, watch his CW Optimus Prime review and he'll explain
At 19.30ish Minutes Superions head is looking at his hand when you are talking about the hand articulation.
Do you think that this will display good with the war for Cybertron and legacy lines?
2:43 I guess you could call it a … jet pack …. I regret nothing
Hey Emgo, do you think they ever gonna release Combiner Wars Me Grimlock?
when I saw the g1 Arielbots I thought they were just robots hiding under a plane
28:02 dragstrip moment to shine, god that funny. #dragstriprandomness
Silver bolt is a Concorde so thats why the cone can point down

David Nieuwenhuis You happen to be from my neck of the woods?
You are ssssssooooooo right!!!!!!
I never really appreciated Uranos, but next to Hasbro's Superion...yeah I think which one I like
I dunno if theres an obvious answer to this but....
I REMEMBERED IN rid , THAT ALL THE COMPONENTS COULD TALK TO EACH OTHER EVEN IN THEIR COMBINED FORM
Look in to Computron, specifically his origin in "Grimlock's New Brain" of the g1 series.
They all become one giant different robot with its own personality and stuff
The Glitch They all control one robot , and different personalities can make that real hard
I got this guy and his team although I got two fireflys till the last one comes out but he looks awsome
