I like how this Motormaster actually incorporates into the combine mode, making most of the upperbody bulk and the head instead of other Motormasters just turning into a backpack. I personally don't mind that Motormaster becomes a backpack but I do like what they did for this one.

Honestly, I don't mind cheating here and there. But the main body shell where you don't even need the leader bot feels like they went F-it don't even try.
I really do like how they did the battlestation mode instead of the typical city mode. I also like love how you can get basically a lanky Menasor out of the template sections.

While this looking to be a very VERY stable combiner compared to just about anything from the Prime Wars trilogy, I dislike how much of Menasor the Motormaster toy actually is. While the arms are a sly way of pulling that part off, the legs will push in to the back and those panels Emgo was messing with will close to look like the underside of the leg toys, meaning from the front, it's going to be very Motormaster and less Dead End/Wildrider

I would have overlooked it if the fold out panels were at least colored better so that the legs aren't motormaster grey the entire way down the front, or even try and mimic the arm gimick of having them literally separate in two to better adapt to the frame. Half of the car on the thigh, the other half on the shin with the break being at the knee
@@redfinale Unfortunately it's grey in the cartoon. You just have to think of it Menasor wearing the stunticons as armour. Besides, it's engineering vs accuracy. If they really wanted it to be accurate, his arms would just be the cars, no transforming. But they added elbows. They want the balance of a good figure and an accurate figure.

I finally got this guy a day ago. The motor master figure looks great but some of the panels feel soft in truck mode. The trailer feels premium and it does everything good. Can't wait to complete the Menasor combiner. It will be my first time owning a combiner. Great review as always Emgo.

I was going to sit Legacy out and even put vintage G1 on hold so I could save up for whatever they're going to be offering for the 40th anniversary, but then they go and plan a new dragon Megatron and you show me how beautiful this is... I might just pick this guy up. It's the Motormaster I wanted as a kid. Also I too dig the faux cab feet.
I am so excited for this guy and the rest of the team. So far they all look amazing combined as well as individual figures. Sadly, gradually all of my combiner wars Stunticons started breaking so this is a much needed upgrade.
“Robots in disguise” proceeds to put their affiliation logo all over their alt mode. Admittedly, the Decepticons aren’t as interested in hiding, but you might want to use stealth and guile to *deceive* your enemies once in a while!
at the point in the Series, when the Stunticons and Aerialbots came around the Transformers were pretty well known and Had Devastator and Dinobot brawls everywhere🙅♂

I can’t fault you for doing the “chibi”/“superdeformed” Menasor, Emgo - I’ve done that with my Kreon Technobots - it’s just fun. The combined mode looks good, too, and the alt mode scales well for showdowns with Optimus. Thanks!
Just got mine yesterday. OMG the transformation on motormaster is a lot more smoother and fluid. I actually kept up with you without pausing the video 30 times.
I like the combine mode for this Menasor. If the engineering is that good, I'm looking forward to the possibility of what they'll do for the Constructicons and Devastator.
At least this motormaster plays a significant part of the combiner mode. I would rather all built in like MMC, but for a chug figure, this is pretty good and improves on xtb's back filler, ballast, motormaster.
I kind of wish there was an option to reverse the legs on the combined mode so that the combined vehicles are facing forward for a more integrated look rather than just being tacked onto the back
Yeah I always thought it was weird with the original combiners to hide away the interesting parts. I imagine this will get a big upgrade kit with new knees, hands, sword, head maybe and feet.

This is a cool Menasor/Motormaster, my only issues are the leftover part in the combiner mode and the lack of fingers articulation as Menasor, still the best representation we could ask for. Wonder if they'll do another combiner in legacy.

Generally how long would it take for Motormaster or even Wildrider to begin selling in the US? Australia has had them for weeks and Canada should've gotten them a few days ago, (I don't know If there are any patterns to follow with releases.)
I love how wild they went with size classes, commander class got us a big robot, a big lion lynx, an insane voyager with a trailer, a great voyager with a combiner trailer.
Got mine in hand as it showed up at Target (right before BBTS was going to fulfil my preorder, so I cancelled that in time). Pretty pleased, though a) even having it in hand, I wish there was a way they could've hidden away the upper grille on the legs so it wasn't duplicated with the faux grille on the feet, b) it would've been nice if they could somehow have made it work with a longer, shorter-in-height trailer that was a little more proportional, instead of coming off almost super-deformed, and c) it had a regular-sized blaster. Maybe some third party will recreate the G1 gun, though.
So glad you showed how to put Dragstrip on the arms. I opened Motormaster first and had already extended the arms for Menasor. So I used the tip of the sword to disengage his mid section and then attached to forearm and bicep as needed.
This figure arrived from Zavvi last week (I'm in the UK) and I'm happy with it. Got DragStrip coming in the next few days and will probably get the rest of the set when they're available. I'm glad EmGo makes these vids to transform these guys as some of the instructions are hard to understand. MM seems quite easy in comparison to some other bots though. He's is still in truck mode but I'll get round to transforming him soon. He's actually parked on top of MPP10's trailer atm :D

I gave up on CW Menasor after attempting to use it for stop motion. He is absolutely impossible to stand in any kind of pose with the upgrade kit that makes him look normal
I skip CW wonky menasor..even with the upgrade kit i saw in the review hard pass..😂 Legacy menasor is a new ball game..A solid combine figure on it's own without upgrade kit..
Turns out you CAN hang the gun pylon part off of Menasor ... sorta. There's no tabs or posts to hold it in place, but it'll stay on his back reasonably well if you mostly put it back in the U shape it attaches to trailer mode as, then jiggle it on around the arms/wheels backpack so the little multi-5mm-port side pieces hook onto the top of the torso on either side of his head. They're the only parts that even show from the front and his heel plates are already super long, so it looks decent enough and won't really take up more space on the shelf.

When i first saw menasor i wasnt liking the fact you could have him as a full humanoid without any of the stunticons plugged into him, but with menasors head being attached to motormaster it does redeem it more. Ill still be getting them all though
I didn't think much of this figure when I first saw the pics. Now that I have him, I really like it...it is so solid and stable. The head sculpt is great. Already bought leg extensions. Waiting for a hand upgrade.
I actually thought Menasor would be smaller than the CW version. I'm pleasantly surprised he's the same size. And I love the fact that you can actually display Menasor without the 3 yet to be released team members. You definitely get more bang for your Commander class bucks than you did with Rodimus, but still a step down from that big beefy bad-ass Siege Jetfire.
Good to see that you still kept the Combiner Wars version. Thought you would have gotten rid of them long ago. At least CW Menasor doesn't have an Alpha Bravo, unlike the other 3. 😆
So is there any way to incorporate the gun tower thing as a flight stand or... anything really, in combined mode, besides being a tower for the gun or hanging off his hips as an awkward tail or even more awkward robo-wang?
Yes… it can be used as a flight stand for Motormaster… per the sword into the side of the tower near the top and plug the hilt of the sword into motormaster’s flight stand port. Check out TMan’s video for a demonstration.

I just have a problem with how skinny the trailer wheels are on both this guy and Earthrise Optimus. I know they needed to in order to transform but for me, they are strange to look at. Hasbro has really taken cues from the third-party “panel-transformers”, though and worked some cool features with the trailer. I’m starting to se why he’s $80! I like the “big head mode” you did 😆

The designers really outdid themselves with these updated versions of Motormaster and Dragstrip. Cannot wait to get the other 3 members, so as to complete the team. My only quibble, and it is quite minor, is with the sword. It looks oversized when held by Motormaster, but when put in the hands of Menasor, it looks a little underwhelming. I am sure there will be a 3rd party designer who will design a sword more fitting for Menasor.
Yup indeed the default sword is too small for menasor..i had a few big swords laying ard from volcanicus transform dream wave and tried it out..looks gd!pretty sure 3rd party is going to have a big sword for menasor. Really the designers did a fantastic job..one of the best mainline combiners hands down..
This version is independent from the trailer similar to standard Optimus prime, others the trailer was part of the whole body, but I prefer this version, cool review dude !!?
I am truly huge fan of Motormaster, he was my most favorite Decepticon/Stunticon all of time 😊. I love battle platform too, such a amazing playset 🤩. Hopefully Motormaster not too expensive to buy 🙏😌.

I likethe fact That MM turns into a whole chest instead of a backpack, like some 3rd party ones, it gives him function in The combiner. Hasbro definitely improved in that aspect
in my opinion the best stunticon for now: - not too big so i stay playable - clever transformation - lot of fun with each mod the battle station mod is cool the only black point is not blush compatible i hope that the menasor legs will be as clever as his arms and i hope the release of each team member will not be as long as devil saviours devastator
I really like the engineering they put into Motormaster, can't wait to get him and Wild Rider in November and R.I.D. Scourge/Nemesis Prime so I can start getting more Deceptions for my display. I need more Deceptions than Dragstrip to go against all my Autobots

I know the guy who sent Motormaster to Emgo, completely legitimately. My pre-order is supposed to arrive on July 12th, so I guess he will be releasing worldwide pretty soon.
WORD OF CAUTION: i got my motormaster last week, and, during the third or fourth time i transformed him into menasor, one of the gray tabs on the chestpiece (that was part of he trailer) that flip up to lock motormaster into place (the ones on either side of the head; you can see them in the above picture) snapped off. this was during normal use. the black pieces that the gray pieces are attached to the chestpiece with sheared off. as someone who refurbishes and fixes toys, i found this break to be unrepairable - attempting to glue it back together would cause the gray piece to be unable to move at all. the amount of plastic on the sheared-off black piece is so tiny, and the clearance between it and the gray place is basically non-existent. fortunately, hasbro is going to replace the broken part. unfortunately, they can't just send the chestpiece and i need to mail back the entire toy. every other time i've broken a figure (except the shoulder joint on king of the snipers - that one is just very poorly designed [the joint, not the whole figure]) has been my fault. this is the first time i feel like it was an endemic problem with the toy's design. and, as i said at the start, this was only the third or fourth time that i manipulated the pieces in question, i was using it as designed, and i did not in any way force it. overall, i love the figure. this has nothing to do with that. i just want people to be aware that this is a very real thing that could happen to anyone and that it is (unless you are unbelievably skilled and/or are a jedi) nearly impossible to fix without impacting functionality.
Yeah and it's not worth it to me. Jacked up prices for a huge parts former. I might as well get 3rd party combiners with a lot less partsforming and clean combined mode.

Easily the best Hasbro Motormaster to date. Never got into Combiner Wars as I didn't care for the big hollow engineering however Legacy has improved a lot in engineering/design. Been waiting to get Motormaster for a while now as here in Canada he's been around $200 for the last year but finally grabbed him today for about $125 on Amazon which is significantly less than either Legacy Armada Prime or 86 Magnus. I absolutely love how much care was put into the core character mode, alt mode, and impressively tall combined mode. Deciding to release him as a Commander was definitely a smart move. I really like how the combined mode isn't dependent on the individual limbs but the definitely complete the look. Outside of Dragstrip which you can literally find anywhere still I don't think I have a hope of ever completing this guy.
This is some really clever engineering where was all this effort during combiner wars? I hope if they do plan to do more combiners this is how they do it going forward.

Personally for me I will say its really good, the parts former can get abit annoying at first but the end result of menasor is sturdy and sweet Just that with the recent price inflation, completing the whole set to just to get a chug figure that's about as tall but bulkier as the original combiner war version..... At around the price of a big master piece or older titan class (atleast in my area) feels abit... Ehhhhh I would suggest for slightly more casual /budget limit collector, just get Motormaster and maybe one day someone gonna 3D print a set of non transforming stunticon car to slap on menasor be better or just skip if let say you have no interest in the stunticon
I managed to pick this guy up literally as they were stacking them on the shelves in Big W (I live in Australia) 😁 He (MotorMaster) is a little smaller than I would have thought, but he's a cool figure, and I'm keen to see the completed Menasor!
He looks great. Only think I’m don’t like about Legacy is that they never incorporate back and forth foot articulation and ab crunch. I do toy photography so those poses are a must for me.
No back and forth foot articulation really hurts... Was bummed to see that. However, the combined mode articulation is more impressive than I expected.
Yeesh, it's the (somewhat literal) short bus of semi truck loads... Looking at his bot mode I wish they'd done a bit more with the lower legs. The knees are pretty ugly from the side due to the top panel sitting in front of them, and I wish they'd have had a shorter truck grill for his alt mode so it would hide completely when you rotate his feet. As he came out he reminds me a lot of the DX9 Motormaster - really good figure but it's hard to overlook the feet once you see he's basically wearing his trucky slippers.
How does the plastic quality feel on this figure? Asking because i was kinda disappointed with the quality of their Rodimus, while their Skylynx felt great (same price point)
For a line whose whole gimmick was combining robots, Combiner Wars’ combiners were awful. This may be the best looking, most well thought out, mainline combiner we’ve ever had.
combiner wars was scramble city style combiners this is not aome combiners from combiner wars looked fantastic like superion computron bruticus … literally any of them except for menasor

There kinda is a way, you can rotate the knees so the cars are facing forward but will rob Menasor of his knee articulation

There's no tabs or posts to hold it in place, but it'll stay on his back reasonably well if you mostly put it back in the U shape it attaches to trailer mode as, then jiggle it on around the arms/wheels backpack so the little multi-5mm-port side pieces hook onto the top of the torso on either side of his head. They're the only parts that even show from the front and his heel plates are already super long, so it looks decent enough and won't really take up more space on the shelf.
I really like that Motormaster is actually incorporated in combine mode. I’m so many others the trailer makes the whole body and Motormaster just plugs in the back and isn’t really needed.
The gun emplacement is based on the episode where Optimus and the Autobots pretended to be them, Megatron was making a gun that needed menasor to use

When i first saw menasor i wasnt liking the fact you could have him as a full humanoid without any of the stunticons plugged into him, but with menasors head being attached to motormaster it does redeem it more. Ill still be getting them all though
I didn't think much of this figure when I first saw the pics. Now that I have him, I really like it...it is so solid and stable. The head sculpt is great. Already bought leg extensions. Waiting for a hand upgrade.

I actually thought Menasor would be smaller than the CW version. I'm pleasantly surprised he's the same size. And I love the fact that you can actually display Menasor without the 3 yet to be released team members. You definitely get more bang for your Commander class bucks than you did with Rodimus, but still a step down from that big beefy bad-ass Siege Jetfire.
Good to see that you still kept the Combiner Wars version. Thought you would have gotten rid of them long ago. At least CW Menasor doesn't have an Alpha Bravo, unlike the other 3. 😆

So is there any way to incorporate the gun tower thing as a flight stand or... anything really, in combined mode, besides being a tower for the gun or hanging off his hips as an awkward tail or even more awkward robo-wang?

Yes… it can be used as a flight stand for Motormaster… per the sword into the side of the tower near the top and plug the hilt of the sword into motormaster’s flight stand port. Check out TMan’s video for a demonstration.

I just have a problem with how skinny the trailer wheels are on both this guy and Earthrise Optimus. I know they needed to in order to transform but for me, they are strange to look at. Hasbro has really taken cues from the third-party “panel-transformers”, though and worked some cool features with the trailer. I’m starting to se why he’s $80! I like the “big head mode” you did 😆

The designers really outdid themselves with these updated versions of Motormaster and Dragstrip. Cannot wait to get the other 3 members, so as to complete the team.
My only quibble, and it is quite minor, is with the sword. It looks oversized when held by Motormaster, but when put in the hands of Menasor, it looks a little underwhelming. I am sure there will be a 3rd party designer who will design a sword more fitting for Menasor.
Yup indeed the default sword is too small for menasor..i had a few big swords laying ard from volcanicus transform dream wave and tried it out..looks gd!pretty sure 3rd party is going to have a big sword for menasor.
Really the designers did a fantastic job..one of the best mainline combiners hands down..
This version is independent from the trailer similar to standard Optimus prime, others the trailer was part of the whole body, but I prefer this version, cool review dude !!?
I am truly huge fan of Motormaster, he was my most favorite Decepticon/Stunticon all of time 😊. I love battle platform too, such a amazing playset 🤩. Hopefully Motormaster not too expensive to buy 🙏😌.

If menasors head was just a little bit bigger then when you had him in his "goofy mode" you could say it transformed into a Funko Pop mode.
I likethe fact That MM turns into a whole chest instead of a backpack, like some 3rd party ones, it gives him function in The combiner. Hasbro definitely improved in that aspect
Forget the other Stunticons, I'm going to get this guy to form Menasor all on his own. Kind of like Powermaster Prime / God Ginrai.
in my opinion the best stunticon for now:
- not too big so i stay playable
- clever transformation
- lot of fun with each mod the battle station mod is cool
the only black point is not blush compatible
i hope that the menasor legs will be as clever as his arms
and i hope the release of each team member will not be as long as devil saviours devastator

I know the guy who sent Motormaster to Emgo, completely legitimately. My pre-order is supposed to arrive on July 12th, so I guess he will be releasing worldwide pretty soon.

WORD OF CAUTION: i got my motormaster last week, and, during the third or fourth time i transformed him into menasor, one of the gray tabs on the chestpiece (that was part of he trailer) that flip up to lock motormaster into place (the ones on either side of the head; you can see them in the above picture) snapped off. this was during normal use. the black pieces that the gray pieces are attached to the chestpiece with sheared off. as someone who refurbishes and fixes toys, i found this break to be unrepairable - attempting to glue it back together would cause the gray piece to be unable to move at all. the amount of plastic on the sheared-off black piece is so tiny, and the clearance between it and the gray place is basically non-existent. fortunately, hasbro is going to replace the broken part. unfortunately, they can't just send the chestpiece and i need to mail back the entire toy. every other time i've broken a figure (except the shoulder joint on king of the snipers - that one is just very poorly designed [the joint, not the whole figure]) has been my fault. this is the first time i feel like it was an endemic problem with the toy's design. and, as i said at the start, this was only the third or fourth time that i manipulated the pieces in question, i was using it as designed, and i did not in any way force it.
overall, i love the figure. this has nothing to do with that. i just want people to be aware that this is a very real thing that could happen to anyone and that it is (unless you are unbelievably skilled and/or are a jedi) nearly impossible to fix without impacting functionality.
I didn’t realize how much partsforming was in the combine mode, but this is a case where partsforming fits perfectly
Yeah and it's not worth it to me. Jacked up prices for a huge parts former. I might as well get 3rd party combiners with a lot less partsforming and clean combined mode.

The way he is designed in the cartoon, he kinda needs to be.
That's pretty cool with the arm and Dragstrip. I split him and then attached him, I didn't know you can attach him to the arm and split him then.
I hope this gets a 3rd party upscale to fit in with masterpiece figures. Would be pretty cool.
Easily the best Hasbro Motormaster to date. Never got into Combiner Wars as I didn't care for the big hollow engineering however Legacy has improved a lot in engineering/design. Been waiting to get Motormaster for a while now as here in Canada he's been around $200 for the last year but finally grabbed him today for about $125 on Amazon which is significantly less than either Legacy Armada Prime or 86 Magnus. I absolutely love how much care was put into the core character mode, alt mode, and impressively tall combined mode. Deciding to release him as a Commander was definitely a smart move. I really like how the combined mode isn't dependent on the individual limbs but the definitely complete the look. Outside of Dragstrip which you can literally find anywhere still I don't think I have a hope of ever completing this guy.

This is some really clever engineering where was all this effort during combiner wars? I hope if they do plan to do more combiners this is how they do it going forward.
The turret stand can be used as a jet pack. There's a port on the back of menasor for that.

Personally for me I will say its really good, the parts former can get abit annoying at first but the end result of menasor is sturdy and sweet
Just that with the recent price inflation, completing the whole set to just to get a chug figure that's about as tall but bulkier as the original combiner war version..... At around the price of a big master piece or older titan class (atleast in my area) feels abit... Ehhhhh
I would suggest for slightly more casual /budget limit collector, just get Motormaster and maybe one day someone gonna 3D print a set of non transforming stunticon car to slap on menasor be better or just skip if let say you have no interest in the stunticon
The thing is, this toy absolutely obliterates the Combiner Wars Menasor toy in every possible way.

I managed to pick this guy up literally as they were stacking them on the shelves in Big W (I live in Australia) 😁 He (MotorMaster) is a little smaller than I would have thought, but he's a cool figure, and I'm keen to see the completed Menasor!
He looks great. Only think I’m don’t like about Legacy is that they never incorporate back and forth foot articulation and ab crunch. I do toy photography so those poses are a must for me.
No back and forth foot articulation really hurts... Was bummed to see that.
However, the combined mode articulation is more impressive than I expected.

Looking at his bot mode I wish they'd done a bit more with the lower legs. The knees are pretty ugly from the side due to the top panel sitting in front of them, and I wish they'd have had a shorter truck grill for his alt mode so it would hide completely when you rotate his feet. As he came out he reminds me a lot of the DX9 Motormaster - really good figure but it's hard to overlook the feet once you see he's basically wearing his trucky slippers.
A lot of us don't have feet fetishes so we don't care...
It's a great figure, weird looking legs don't kill it in the slightest.
