As somebody who joined in 2016, it was such an interesting year. 2016 was like the transition between the middle years and modern days. It was the point where the game's popularity started to the morph the game into something else, which would become far more noticeable in the following year. Objectively, 2016 is the definition of mid; ODing was running rampant, and the devs were having a hard time controlling the community, yet it still holds so many memories for so many people including myself.
I joined in 2016, and personally my favorite thing was rb battles season 2 for its difficulty and forcing the community to work together like in rp1. My least favorite thing was the canning of events, they fucked up everything and signaled that this wasn't the fun game we knew, now a corporation, if only I saw the writing on the wall right then and there.
About the video, its amazing! Your editing is great, and makes me feel a little bad I'm not that good at animating with tweens or whatever lol. It's fast and snappy, while also being informative. The points were well researched, and it really felt like you were talking from experience (which you were, considering you spent a lot more time on this platform than I did lol, my modern perspective makes me a little biased for new roblox, I'll admit) and not just nostalgia for the old times.
This comes down to, in my opinion, the video reviewing roblox as a company, rather than a game, what they did to advance themselves and how they adapted to their growing pains, which is something not many people who talk about old and new roblox bring up (especially since a lot of those people are kids on youtube shorts/tiktok bitching about the overdramatized evil boogeymen also known as slenders) which I found made the video feel more sincere.
This was very well done, and though I'll still appreciate this stupid platform in these modern times, you make a lot of good points about old and new roblox, which I can't argue against.
Well done, keep making good videos about the stuff no one else makes videos on, I've been noticing more content creators talk about obscure and not done stuff which is great (though that may just be because I'm growing up and actively looking for this kind of stuff, and the algorithm is supplying me with more stuff like this) It's great having more people strike up interesting discussions, so yeah, overall, great job! :D
2020 wasn't an actual bad year in my opinion, RP2 and RB Battles we're amazing! 2021 was when everything begun to fall apart to me..

Removing game genres was a dumb idea because having a certain genre is a quicker way to find games you generally like, such as horror, fantasy, school games cuz it narrows it down before you actually know what you want to play and what you like
joined in 2009. 2010 was the best year for me. i understood the game and spent a ton of time grinding Tales of Range's Cape at 7 years old.
I myself joined in early to mid 2013, and MAN Was 2013 great. I don't remember it really at all now, but back in the day it was Amazing. I never partake in the 2013 egghunt... However I still remember it fondly, and I remember playing so many classic games back in 2013, and to 2014/2015. That time period was/is so nostalgic for me. So many of the games were amazing; Defenders of Robloxia, Dodgeball (2013 one), Death Run 2, and so SO Much more. I miss those days, and I'm sad Roblox has decided to trash many of our old beloved things that we cared about in the past.

I played pirate wars once, it reminded me of why I joined roblox in the first place.
It wasnt about complicated grindy mechanics, it wasnt about getting the best stuff and being overpowered, it was just about having fun blowing eachother up on pirate ships.
This video is absolutely phenomenal! You put a lot of work and effort in this video and is definitely appreciated! My favorite Roblox event ever is would be egg hunt 2013. And the best event EVER imo is the 2018 egg hunt. The event was just a incredible and fun experience. My least favorite event would be probably anything after 2018 ended tbh lol. If I would rank every year of Roblox worse to best it would be this.

Crazy to see that 2013, the year I started playing Roblox was actually the best year. I wish I made an account but I would play as a guest until 2017 of march.
I joined in the end of 2016, and personally for me 2017 and 2018 were the best years for me. I would discover a lot of new games every day. I could play roblox for the whole day,and I would still want to play more,especially Flood escape. Sadly for me roblox has got a lot of boring. In these days I only play horor games with my friends, and sometimes play some OG Games. But still I love to play roblox sometimes and to watch roblox youtubers!You're videos are amazing man, keep up the good work :)

when i was younger i used to play roblox back during the early to mid 2010s, and i remember despising the website in 2015-2017, and thinking the website was pure garbage and going on a downfall and thought old roblox was superior and had better games back then (it didn't!) after looking back to those years, it was not that bad as i thought it was. nowadays i cannot stand looking at all the weird games and horrific website color scheme, and realizing that roblox was never good in the first place. i also like seeing comments of people saying that they joined in 2016 and enjoying those years and how roblox went on a downfall, and finding comments from early as 2008 saying the exact same thing.
I may like the 2012 website more , but 2015 was like the ultimate version of roblox

Being scared shitless over stuff like the Blox Watch and John Doe, making fun of people wearing that bear mask and flower crown, you get the idea.
I joined Roblox in 2007 and I saw a *lot* of shit go down lmao. I miss the building games so much :( Most of the ones I spent hours and hours in are completely broken from updates, and Pilgrim Islands (my beloved) had so many issues with Roblox censorship that it got taken down. I was able to get the free copy of it before that, thank goodness, but its tools still have update issues. It'll be completely obsolete soon and I hate it.
That was the first game I started playing back in 2013. Truly a fun time it was.
2017 had its issues, but 2016-2017 was peak Roblox in terms of community, and games. Good video though, love your content

Here's how I'd rank the years I've been on Roblox based off of my personal experiences from best to worst:
S: 2016 & 2020
A: 2015
B: 2017 & 2018
C: 2021 & 2019
C-/D: 2022... so far, at least
Not often I see base wars the land gameplay. That game at one point used to be the most visited game on roblox sitting at 30million visits, while the second most visited game was like 26million visits. It was very fun back in 2011-2013 until they buffed the planes and added far more powerful weapons than the bwsr1flame, which means the gap of strength is so much higher. Before a person with like 4k kills had the ability to kill a person with 37k kills, now with new weapons and pay to win armor it is almost impossible to kill people with more kills/ubervip. So no wonder it is no longer popular today, but it was fun while it lasted.

Wow what a refreshing video for a roblox video. I’ve joined in 2014 but didn’t fully consistently played till 2016 especially since that’s when I made the account I use now and remember the password to unlike my first two accounts where I’ve forgotten the passwords. I had so much fun with roblox till recently where I’m bored for it for exactly every reason that has been made on why roblox now is boring. I am almost an adult now literally in less than a month of making this comment I will turn 18 and so far I’ve mostly moved on since the fall of 2021. I rarely play roblox anymore since I don’t have fun with it, the games are bland now and mainly meant to milk from kids only things I’ll play alone is arsenal and counter blox. And the events now are just garbage sponsors and nothing community made from roblox. The most I’ll play is with friends which is once in a while. I have great memories with this website but it’s not the same anymore that encourages everybody to play it and I’m one of those people that won’t play it like how I use to.

As much as I adore 2016 as the year I joined, it was mainly because games made in the years before were becoming increasingly popular. 2016 itself was nothing special in terms of games though.

I joined in mid 2017, too I didn't consider the scam issue such a bad issue since I couldn't fail for it I was basically 11 , didn't know how to speak English so I was pretty isolated, I didn't know of the egg hunts for example.. I personally liked that year for the fun but honesty those issues were pretty bad

The worst year for me would be 2018, because that was when adventure games nearly died. My memory of why has faded away, but thank god it later got a resurgence, like with Stars Align, which I am going to morb when it gets released.
I joined in 2020! I remember my cousin showing me Roblox in 2017 but I wasn’t allowed to get it cuz I was still a kid and my mom said it was unsafe :( but I was finally able to join in 2020
I lost my og account that had alot of memories on it (due to my dumb self wanting robux and going on websites) but I believe I first ever joined as a guest back in…2016? I got an account in 2017, and had it for years, but then I lost it. Got a new account in 2019-2020 and got banned while I was on my Roblox Hiatus, got it back and I’ve had that account ever since. Out of that time I never done the events so I don’t have a favorite, but I loved guests.

For me 2017,18,19,20,21,22 have had more flaws than the years previous to 2017 as drama was less prevalent like less groomers, cough cough ANDREW!
Anyways for the near end of the 2000’s was Robloxs gold age as games like Apoc prior to the exploits and natural disasters remain classics even after many years, with me and around 20 other players returning to the game every now and then due to how well they have aged.

2022 was still the worst by far. From the audio update (or should I say downdate) and then the new Deh. Dont even get me started about this was when they added those dynamic faces. Just a year full of ick for me.
I joined in 2013, my favorite event was egg hunt 2018 and least favorite was the metaverse crate garbage whatever it’s called. I’ll get into why in a minute.
Im very surprised you didn’t mention DevEx when talking about 2013, which is what I think is one of the only reason roblox still even exists today as an actual platform to make actual things. (If only developers actually made fun games)
Egg hunt 2018 was my favorite event because it showed the best of roblox in my opinion, when I played it I didn’t feel like I was playing a roblox game, it felt almost like an actual game. It didn’t feel like a completely ripped off idea from an actual game, it didn’t feel super cheap or short, it didn’t feel frustrating or like I was wasting my time. It was actually fun, and it wasn’t even made by roblox themselves really it was an actual dev team who actually knew what the hell they were doing. It felt like what I thought events (at the time) were for, to show off what roblox and their community can do, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was the best at what it did.
The metaverse crate thing was a shit on the grave to everything I just said. Not only was it not just fun with its objective and presentation, but it made 90% of developers put into that just look completely lazy. Everything the event attempted as a concept outside of I GUESS the lobby was a complete failure or just fucking stupid, I’m sorry but the “prize turning into something else” and launcher ideas have always sucked outside of gifts, because that actually makes sense. Hatching eggs and launcher crates are just a dumb idea in my opinion. Most objectives in this event fall into one of three categories at best in terms of how fun they were, frustrating, boring, or mediocre at best. And they picked the very bottom of the barrel games to use for this, it really felt like they were desperate when picking. Don’t even get me started on the prizes by the way, when your most hyped prize of the whole event is a joke egg one of your old employees made for a event over 10 years ago, that’s just sad. Seriously this event was so sad and such a waste of time that it’s the thing that has made me basically leave the platform for the most part, that event was the last time I sat down and played any roblox game for longer than 10 minutes by myself.
Anyways if anyone actually reads all of this I hope I don’t come off as the “old good new bad” kind of person. If I could describe all of roblox in terms of how good of a game or platform it is/was I would say,
It was never a good game, not even close. But it was way better than it is now.

2010 to 2013 is the classical years. (Fondly remembered as the golden years for its balance of community and development)
2014 to 2016 is the transitionary years (New growth and pivots for the platform to experiment)
2017 to 2020 is the expansion years. (Modernization of status as a corporate top dog with more explosive growth to the platform)
2021 to Present is the formation years. (Essentially acts as a neo-classical from settling with the new standards)
