I really wish you mentioned what they did to the toolbox. I’m sure everyone just about knows how people would steal models and load them up with “viruses”. Roblox’s solution to this was to limit the toolbox search to only users who were verified. Yes, it could be toggled but that’s not the only thing they did. They also removed the search feature where you could sort things by recently updated, relevance, etc. This has made finding new assets just as hard as it is to find new games and I’ll say it’s just as bad as the audio update. I could go on and on about the changes to studio and how they’re not exactly dev friendly but I thought I should mention it. There also is an issue that I assume is still ongoing where users get banned for unknowingly inserting a inappropriate asset in their game. Like the viruses, it’s not really apparent until you insert it into your game. I’m not sure how many people have fallen for this considering you can get a preview but it’s easy to just click and fall victim. Anyways enough of a long rant. I wish you and anyone unfortunate enough to read this a happy new years!
This is gonna sound weirdly edgy but the audio removal update was mostly pretty creepy on the other side. Try to think that there are dead and abandoned Roblox games that nobody plays anymore but once you try to explore those games that used to be popular alone, you'll hear nothing but an eerie sign of silence and loneliness. All what's left is the regular walking sfx piled up with the quiet ambient. I get that the audio removal was a pretty god-awful decision but overall, its pretty creepy if you think about it on another side/tone.
This is true, for example when I try to play my old games from 2020 I always get startled by the lack of music and liveliness in them. I still remember every track that was used and it just feels eerie to not hear them.

I was laughing the whole time at how poorly roblox handled all of these situations, literally doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what any sane person would do.
I like how the developers were fully aware that the chat vulnerability could be easily exploited, considering the official documentation literally says "don't be naughty with this one or you'll be in trouble!" like that'll stop anyone.

Been playing since 2011, have to say that when I look back I find the years 2011-2014 to be the best years on roblox. It used to feel fun and unique. Now it feels like it's catering for the iPad generation of kids who need bright colors and fancy graphics to catch attention.

Okay, the worst year was for sure this year. WHY THE AUDIO UPDATE?! They even deleted vehicle sounds that WEREN'T copyrighted at all.. and no one in the roblox transit community is happy, as we heavily relied on those sounds. I honestly wanna quit roblox.

Got moderated twice lately for very small reasons while I see people being homophobic, sexist, Racist and much more on Roblox, there are also only bots in the appeal System and you get declined, because of the Chatfilter bot that only captures the bad messages. Moderation was probably the worst in 2022, even worse than the Audio Removal.
Not last year, but in 2021, I got banned for 3 days for trying to stop a scam in Adopt Me, and I was apparently banned for saying in private chat "What are you gonna do a trust trade?" But maybe they thought I was the one trying to scam someone, maybe I should've worded it better or said nothing 😅

Being honest, the audio update has got to be the WORST update ever. It ruined soo many games and I miss having the ability to add audios to my game or play audio in my own games when friends are joining via admin commands. I also miss being able to mess around with music there by changing the pitch. This honestly is the WORST update ever, I'd rather have a wave of copyright audios being banned than just outright removing all audio.

I think the worst thing that’s happened last year for Roblox is the deletions of all the blogs. So much of Roblox history was removed whether it was great or terrible things. This doesn’t just effect RUclipsrs who now can’t use it for research in a video but way more than that. I seriously hope it’s a bug and that they fix it.

Reminds me of the Thumbail & Game Icons update long ago, where they reset the icon/thumbnail of all games to that default ones with Roblox logo. The update make changing thumbnails free which is nice; but old, dead games with devs who already quit Roblox remains with the default thumbnail. It make finding a specific classic games a pain since they all now look the same. With this, Blog wipe, and the attention shifting to Rthro, I'm sure Roblox is really trying to hide their past. At least we still have Wayback Machine.
On the confusing bans portion of this, some of the things that I saw people get banned for was astonishing. My friend got a three-day-ban for saying "I want a salad," which Roblox considered to be "discriminatory."
The moderation system is almost completely run by bots. Some players who knew this would often "tag" a person they don't like and get their 10 alts to mass report them.
Roblox used to look more like it's own game back in 2014-2018 but now it just looks like a normal free game you would find on the play store and it aslo has that vr chat-ish look

one of the worst which wasnt mentioned here was the animationweightedblendfix removal. this update literally broke every single animation in every game until someone found out how to fix it without changing the animation priority and reuploading the animations
I feel roleplay games were likely screwed over the worst. So many of those games have gorgeous animations and complex models, like [Early access] Wings of fire or Griffin's Destiny or Warrior Cats UE, or really any you could name, yet many probably got destroyed. It's sad
@@JuliusD Long story short, an animation setting was removed that allowed animations to look clean and smooth. The result was animations that would blend weirdly into eachother or just stop when youd click off a tool.
I'm wheezing at the furry bans- roblox really decided furries are a protected groups. I mean it's probably because most furries are LGBT+ so it was probably that in my opinion.

the crosswood incident was actually really frightening for me, ive spent half my life playing this game, i have so much progress on many games and i would die if my account got banned. knowing any game with this can basically terminate my account and roblox support is well...shitty at best, ive been so hesitant trying new games that i basically use roblox specially for bloxburg and royale high now.
I remember the audio update. I play a game called SCR [SCR is a British railway simulation game] and the sounds for the class 43 HST were absolutely messed up. now the engine idle and initial engine acceleration sounds were fine but the sounds for the engines at power and the turbocharger were all but gone. thankfully, this as fixed and we have had no further issues with the in-game sounds since.

My opinion about #2b: As I understood people were banned for simply mentioning word furry, no matter if it was positive ir negative in the context. Although your theory has place to be, it would be unlikely that hundreds of furries would still be banned on usual matter only for their avatars and such. It's more likely the other way around, as this community is highly misunderstood, Roblox moderators could have been abusing their powers to try to simply eradicate any presence of them while "trying" to stay low. There are furries that would do such thing as ban any negative mentions of them unfairly (so your explanation is more than possible), but such people exist in every community if you think of it. I don't have full picture of this story, thus I can't say for sure. All theories have a place to be.

one of the worse things was the ad removal, not only for kids but for developers. the kids can't see other games to play that could meet their interests, and if the developers' main targets are kids, well..good luck with that one. they also will have more trouble advertising their games.
I got a warning a few months ago for a dumb reason. I was in Roblox bedwars, just playing with a friend. Until these two guys started moaning and saying "hot babe" in the chat over and over. Of course, my friend said, "Roblox is not a dating site" and I said, "stop online dating". After we beat the guy in the match and made him rage quit, we switched to a different game. FIVE MINUTES INTO THE GAME, I got disconnected and was met with a warning screen. It said that I got warned for "Dating" on a game. The offensive item was: "stop online dating"... Let this be a lesson for y'all: Roblox moderation is more terrible than a twitter ratio

One controversy that people might’ve forgotten but I haven’t is in February of 2022 where Roblox released a toy based on a character called Cheshy from a Roblox game called Astral Hearts. A little fun fact about this: She actually was an npc and her only appearance was in the Egg hunt 2020: Agents of E.G.G. Now if you are wondering why it’s bad well it’s based off of an r63 character also known as hen### if you know what I mean. The origin is from a series of books called Monster Girl Encyclopedia which later led to Roblox stop making that figure.
The worst one unmentioned and for me I remember was a game called Boys and Girls dance club. This game had a huge amount of online daters, but most of them weren't the typical "Let's get married" type ones but ones that did NSFW stuff. Everybody on that game was horny. And when I would troll these people, sometimes I would find them asking for snapchat and one even offered to show "naughty photos" on discord. Luckily that madness was banned, as when everybody was playing we were teleported to that first place map and realized the game has ben delivered the ban hammer.

While I do agree that the audio update is a steaming doo doo of an update because you can’t play your sound on other games, I kinda like how audios can now be uploaded without spending like 100 robux per SFX. Really great if you’re a dev and bad for everybody else

i got the chance to talk to someone who actively works and is an intern for roblox, who goes to HQ and personally talks and involves themselves with people there. Been playing since 2011, have to say that when I look back I find the years 2011-2014 to be the best years on roblox. It used to feel fun and unique. Now it feels like it's catering for the iPad generation of kids who need bright colors and fancy graphics to catch attention.

Being honest, the audio update has got to be the WORST update ever. It ruined soo many games and I miss having the ability to add audios to my game or play audio in my own games when friends are joining via admin commands. I think the worst thing that’s happened last year for Roblox is the deletions of all the blogs. So much of Roblox history was removed whether it was great or terrible things. This doesn’t just effect RUclipsrs who now can’t use it for research in a video but way more than that. I seriously hope it’s a bug and that they fix it.

Reminds me of the Thumbail & Game Icons update long ago, where they reset the icon/thumbnail of all games to that default ones with Roblox logo.
The update make changing thumbnails free which is nice; but old, dead games with devs who already quit Roblox remains with the default thumbnail.
It make finding a specific classic games a pain since they all now look the same.

I play a game called SCR [SCR is a British railway simulation game] and the sounds for the class 43 HST were absolutely messed up. now the engine idle and initial engine acceleration sounds were fine but the sounds for the engines at power and the turbocharger were all but gone. thankfully, this as fixed and we have had no further issues with the in-game sounds since.

As I understood people were banned for simply mentioning word furry, no matter if it was positive ir negative in the context. Although your theory has place to be, it would be unlikely that hundreds of furries would still be banned on usual matter only for their avatars and such. It's more likely the other way around, as this community is highly misunderstood, Roblox moderators could have been abusing their powers to try to simply eradicate any presence of them while "trying" to stay low. There are furries that would do such thing as ban any negative mentions of them unfairly (so your explanation is more than possible), but such people exist in every community if you think of it.
I don't have full picture of this story, thus I can't say for sure. All theories have a place to be.

FIVE MINUTES INTO THE GAME, I got disconnected and was met with a warning screen. It said that I got warned for "Dating" on a game. The offensive item was: "stop online dating"...

One controversy that people might’ve forgotten but I haven’t is in February of 2022 where Roblox released a toy based on a character called Cheshy from a Roblox game called Astral Hearts. A little fun fact about this: She actually was an npc and her only appearance was in the Egg hunt 2020: Agents of E.G.G. Now if you are wondering why it’s bad well it’s based off of an r63 character also known as hen### if you know what I mean. The origin is from a series of books called Monster Girl Encyclopedia which later led to Roblox stop making that figure.
The worst one unmentioned and for me I remember was a game called Boys and Girls dance club. This game had a huge amount of online daters, but most of them weren't the typical "Let's get married" type ones but ones that did NSFW stuff. Everybody on that game was horny. And when I would troll these people, sometimes I would find them asking for snapchat and one even offered to show "naughty photos" on discord. i got banned for a week this year for privatizing a game I made 2 years ago that had kohl’s admin in it, (this was during the crosswoods issue) funny thing is the game is still up.

While I do agree that the audio update is a steaming doo doo of an update because you can’t play your sound on other games, I kinda like how audios can now be uploaded without spending like 100 robux per SFX. Really great if you’re a dev and bad for everybody else
for me, the worst had to be audio removal. the fact that roblox just removed over one third of every single community created audio was so sad. they only kept the "memorable" ones or ones that were made by certified creators.
They removed like 99% of it actually, shame that i can't play actual good music anymore

i got the chance to talk to someone who actively works and is an intern for roblox, who goes to HQ and personally talks and involves themselves with people there. We were talking about the harrassment and stuff i was going through on the game and how bad the community can be and she was shocked. Actually audibly shocked. Aparently A LOt of the team at roblox do not play roblox or have never played it, even back when. Maybe it’s just me, but surely you’d atleast LOOK at a game or test a game your in HQ for???
