And if he did not fall here, he would have actually won these championships.

People are defending Plushenko because he's RIGHT about some things. Did you know that, after the SP in Vancouver, 2 judges actually placed Plushenko 22nd & 23rd?? While MOST placed him first?? And they were never made to answer for that. With BOTH of THOSE scores thrown out (they both should have been challenged but the lowest was automatically thrown out) Plushenko would have had enough of a margin in the SP that Lysacek would have lost the gold to him. I think I would throw a fit, too!

I'd appreciate it if anyone w/ figure skating knowledge could answer my question (I'm only a spectator). (Please reply so I am notified.)
A 3Lz=6 points; a 3T=4 points. Ann does a 3Lz and 3T in her program flawlessly (+3 GOE for both, the maximum), gaining 16 points. Then she does a 3Lz+3T combo, also with +3 GOE, which is only 13 points. Why do people say a combination jump is worth more, when the base value is still equal to the sum of the jumps, and the GOE is only half its potential value???

Actually, Plushenko never skated at the US Nats, so why the negative comments about him? And the guy THIS one was competing against was Johnny Weir, whose FS to "Otonal" blew Evan's FS out of the water! This was the last year for the 6.0 system (sadly) and although Evan's FS was artistic enough, it lacked the polish of Weir's. And anyone who FALLS shouldn't win...that's why I HATE the new system. Chan falls ALL the time, and still gets these bloated scores, and wins. Ev just needed time.
