EXCELLENT WORK!!! I LOVE how the Damascus pattern came out almost with lines running length-wise with the blade but was still broken up enough that it looks VERY SIMILAR to WOOD GRAIN!!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!! And in some spots you can make out the pattern of the chain... And the handle and case are simple but look so good! You did a FANTASTIC JOB!!!! :)
Great to see that you're investing in your craft, my friend. Loving the new shop and I'm sure I'm not the only person who's VERY happy to see you incorporate powdered steel into your billet! These are the dividends that are born from hard work, planning and, most importantly, PATIENCE! Cheers!!
Is this the SAME SHOP or a totally NEW SHOP??? Your 'firebox' (I want to say Kiln, but UI know that's not the right name for it... I'm just having such a mental block today😖) looks the same, so thats what makes me think you just did an ULTRA CLEANING to the old shop, but it looks so much better!!! You have SO MUCH MORE room to work, which does WONDERS for the psyche so you'll probably want to try new things because of all the confidence a bigger BADA$$ Workshop brings!!! 💪❗ I'm fairly certain it's a new shop, and it's nice and bright which is AMAZING for filming!! ANYWAY... It's looks GREAT!! but I'm gonna quit yappin my trap and get on with watchin the video now LOL!! 😀😁😂
It looks like a new workshop. Not sure if the tools are new or not, since I believe many of the tools at the old workshop may have been part of a factory (same building, and some of the gear was used off camera by others), and as such, wouldn't have been taken.
was there a reason for putting it into a circle type container? Instead of just doing something like a square or rectangle? i feel the piece would have welded together better that way. But im also not sure either
That looked like borax in a salt cannister. I don't know why he used it though, since that billet should have been a consolidated lump of metal while in the cannister.
It's called magical fairy dust. It makes people ignore the fact that this is not a knife. It's something to hang on the wall, like a painting of Elvis on black satin.
@sebastiaoferreiraramos1053 I know what you mean, just mute and ignore the ass. I hope my response helped. If that is borax as I mentioned, it is typically used as flux when forge welding.
Shouldn't you have a mask on (like one of those more expensive N95 masks) when you are using the angle grinder and other grinding/sanding tools?? I know I would, and I see a bunch of other people wearing some kind of mask (some even wear that big over the head helmet with tubes coming out that does into a filter pack..) .... but it works.... I hope LOL
Nice looking knife! However, I am wondering why you put so much work into grinding? The whole piece of steal was grinded to the knife shape and the handle too. waaaaay to much work.
Why to you hit it so lightly with the power hammer? I've been watching a lot of different knife making and forging channels for quite a while now and every single one of them hits their forge so much harder than you do.... And so I've been wondering if it's just you not wanting to hit it harder, or if its just a limitation of your hammer.... and yes others don't ALWAYS hit so hard, they DO hammer lightly on occasion, ESPECIALLY on the first hammering of the first heat of a new forging or folding (or if they're using either loose material like powder or lower melting metals like copper) - I actually talked with a friend about whether or not I even bring this up to you because I don't want you to think I'm saying that you're doing something wrong and that I, an armchair potato, would know more about knife making than you, the one ACTUALLY MAKING THE KNIVES! lol I'm trying to ASK if this is on purpose or not, and if so what is the purpose..other than have very fine control.... I just see a LOT of hammering and personally I would try to minimize as much of it as possible LOL So I'd be SWINGING HAAARRRDDDD!!!! lmao (and THAT is why YOU are the Blacksmith and I am a Fat Potato LOL) 😁😂🤣
New shop, possibly new equipment, everything looks great!! Excellent work!!

Yay…new shop! Looks 👍
Bellissimo 👍
Beautiful work as always. Would love to see you forge the blade shape in instead of cutting the blade shape in.
I would buy that

What was that white powder he put on it? Can someone tell me?
Borax
Cocaine
I was pleasantly surprised to see you using a real forge to heat your material.

Can you melt tungsten carbide? 😂
🏭👌🏿
Love the new work shop no more beard burning
Couldn't help but think at 1:28 that's a scary looking, new hockey puck how's that going to work on ice.
what kind of dust do you put on the metal, can you please tell me?
That looked like borax in a salt cannister. I don't know why he used it though, since that billet should have been a consolidated lump of metal while in the cannister.

@mtnbkr8480 HOLY SHIT I definitely hate responses with Sarcasm or when it's not what I asked
@mtnbkr8480 that was uncalled for, consider yourself ignored.. Go harass someone else.

Bravissimo !
Ma la bottiglia l'avevi incollata alla base ?
Non s'è neanche mossa !!!

Mask and ventilator to collect the dust. That place is likely to get messy pretty quickly otherwise
Also handling acid with no gloves is dangerous.
Nice work, where are you from?
Cant the steel get liquified then poured into molds?
Ich will eure Authentizität das improvisierte nicht das moderne durchgestylte
Nice blade but a handle with no indexing is not ideal. Seemed pretty blocky to me.
Nice looking knife! However, I am wondering why you put so much work into grinding? The whole piece of steal was grinded to the knife shape and the handle too. waaaaay to much work.
