【Tour of Cool Houses with Yit】14 years ago, American man Linden quit his job and sold his house in the States and came to Dali Xizhou in the Yunnan province of China. He came to realize his dream - open a hostel and a school. He started by renting an ancient house. He was constantly amazed by the Chinese folk wisdom of construction in the two years. “I’d spend another 40 years here or even longer. I always felt like an orphan my whole life, and it’s China that adopted me.”

我去过喜洲呀，待了一晚上，中午就走了。很早起来逛街，外面很宁静，坐在一家店里吃着喜洲粑粑，喝着隔壁热喷喷的豆奶，特别幸福。
我在大理3年苍山洱海，白族民居，有烤烟种植，水稻，洱尾也有小麦！蔬菜 ！有民族扎染，银器首饰,气候温暖，但有点干燥。
林登有一种说不出的迷人的艺术家气质，一袭白衫，长发，轻盈潇洒。令人不由想去熹州的街市，古道，巷弄一趟究竟。已经有两年多没有回国了，不由想念国内小镇的阳光市井，那热腾腾的烟火气，那街边的小贩，那家乡的味道，令人心安。
懂得欣賞中國文化的人是有智慧的人！

You can always live there first and pick up the language later. Of course if you can get someone to assist initially, you will settle in much faster.

Great job Mr Linden. Tradition and heritage has to be preserved. U have taken it to next level by thinking beyond the boundaries.
Always amazed that those foreigners who stayed in China truly experienced the warmth of the people and the culture of the Chinese. And most have adapted to China as a communist country which by the way, CCP has transformed and developed over the years. Been to China several times and really saw huge transformation in China that many Western nations and medias failed to fathom except for a very few. China is forging ahead in all front and the people in China are having much better lives than a couple of decades ago. China will become the largest economy and a global super power within a decade and a half or so. It will be leading through harmonious relationship with other nations and not through military aggressions or show of military might.
These foreigners are enjoying the protection given by their own countries of citizenship. Chinese citizens don't have such protection, millions want to escape China.

As a Chinese, thanks Linden for preserving traditional Chinese culture. After coming to the US, I found that the most important thing is not just how modernized China can become, but how well it can preserve its culture.
He is just combining his passion with business. He come to China because America can't give him the happiness that he wants. Listen carefully to what he said.

He has a genuine passion for Chinese culture and is able to share and promote it. It is a win win situation. Overseas visitors come over and improve the economy of the local community

I’ve been to Dali 15 years ago and it was so beautiful , especially in shanggrila . I’ve never seen grass so green and rich and the mountains with the grass was like a picture in a frame . The pagodas and small water towns there are also very historic . Only thing was back then lots of poverty and kids in the street begging . I hope that has changed for the community .

想當年，瀏覽整個小鎮都是免費的。記憶中的白族唯美風格古建築，就那麼幾家代表，畢竟建立起來的唯美風格是需要資金來支持的。印象最深刻的是一家🏠遭遇大火焚燒後，依然保持原狀態的樣子，那種淒美至今難忘。。。
