    This is a quick pitching video of the Wild Country Zephyros 1, It was a race against time to beat the approaching rain :-) We were up at Crookstone Knoll on Kinder Scout in the Peak District.

    Thanks, this gives me some hope, I've been finding the tent way too fiddley to pitch at the end of a long day.

      Thanks for watching, the Zephyros is a great tent. I made a bit of an error with mine, pitched it too tightly which split the main door zip, it's now dead 😁

    Your daughters time commentary had me in a panic for you lol .... thought something was going to explode !!! Just purchased one of these today, partly based on your experiences, you should be on commission ! Spent Friday night up near Bleaklow ... The Glorious Peak District" is a good description.

      +FENNER-G Thanks for watching, I really should be on commission. I've joked with Terra Nova about that too :-) The Peak District really is Glorious

    Hi Darrell, the 1 is just about right for me if I leave bag etc in porch. the 2 would be perfect if you wanted a bit more room for kit in the inner.

    Hi there, I personally haven't had any problems with water leaking in. We had some pretty wet weather on the Pennine Way and it performed well. I must admit though that I haven't had to submit it to night after night of torrential rain (thankfully) but what rain I have experienced hasn't got inside... The only water getting in is down to my clumsiness and not removing waterproofs :-)

    What do you do with the black carbon poles on both sides of the tent? I dont know how to attach them to anything so that they dont destroy the outer fabric. They get out of their place quite often. And do you add them after the pitching or have them attached already when unpacking? Thanks.

      +Daniel Kikic hi Daniel, thanks for watching. I have the black poles attached before I pitch. There is 2 little sleeves that they fit inside but they do come out of place at times. There is a little strap that you can tighten which holds them in place if I remember correctly. ATB

    Hi, Dean. I camp in similar terrain you, mainly in the Cambrians. I like the look of the Zephyros 1, but I worry about the lack of a bathtub groundsheet. On one overnighter, my mum and I used a tent with a conventional sewn in groundsheet. All was fine until a torrential downpour, which caused the water to seep over the groundsheet into the tent. We'd picked the highest, driest ground, but it was sheep pasture, not sphagnum, and the run-off from the rocks was pretty bad. Your thoughts? Thanks!

    On my first time pitching the tent I followed your advise and pulled the guy rope really tight and the inner buckle clip connecting the vertical pole snapped, doh! I've managed to just tie a not in the inner tent to the outer so it still works. I still have the receipt so thinking of taking it back to exchange it!

      oh dear, hope they can exchange it for you. I've been rather rough with both regular Zephyros and the Lite and they have been fine so far thankfully. I better put some RUclips annotations on the video so others don't have same problem.

      I'm not sure if they will exchange it because it's been used, but it's still within the 28days so you never know!
      I bought the tent based on your videos - they're great!
      I have only used it once and it was a wild night, but the tent held up extremely well (see uploaded video). Although, thankful it wasn't raining; the wind was so sever (at least 50mph) that it was blowing the outer against the inner. I would have ended up soaked!

      I've had a few nights like that :-) glad the tent performed well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that they can do an exchange. Maybe terra nova would do a repair? I think they offer that service for terra nova kit so probably would for the Wild Country stuff too

    So are those inner poles attached to little pockets at either end or just kinda braced in place? I have no idea what to do with them on mine!

  • @marcogiovanni8962
    @marcogiovanni8962 5 лет назад

    Does this tent come with the inner already attacked to the outer straight out the pack? Or do you have to fit the inner to the outer yourself?

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  5 лет назад

      You have to fit the inner yourself but it's easy to do

    Any had any issues wild camping in the peaks?

  • @NoddingPenguin

    Unless I missed it you didn't use the two smaller GF poles?

    • @DeanRead
      @DeanRead  7 лет назад +2

      +NoddingPenguin the smaller end poles were in already when I pitched, I tend not to remove them each time to speed things up a bit

      Dean Read Ah I see, that makes sense

  • @DeanRead

    Thankfully not, as long as you stay away from farms and are out of site you'd be fine. Pitch late, leave early etc
