I've done two vanities into nightstands, and I've kept both sets for myself. I LOVE THEM. Yours are gorgeous.

I think either decision would depend on what my heart/mind was shouting at me, on whether to split the unit. As soon as I saw this one, it was split and re-purpose.

They are adorable...like siamese twins connected at the hip, lovingly and skillfully separated for their next level of evolution. Hooray!

I love old vanities separated into nightstands! They turned out gorgeous with the stained feature with the beautiful paint color! Awesome job! 😊

Right! It’s always so hard to find a matching set. And a lot of these old vanities are obsolete, as far as people wanting them in their homes. So they make the perfect pair.

I'm team use it. Hence, if using it requires it to be transformed, so be it.

I’m in the camp, that as long as it’s loved, that’s all that matters!

@ItsAboutFlippinTime Right said. When you love them, you use them and and don't just toss them.

These turned out great. I did the exact same thing a couple years ago (broke down a vanity). The guy that bought them off me said he was very limited to how much space he had on either side of his bed and that these are nice and narrow, unlike most bedside tables that are wider. As always, GREAT job! 😊

That’s great to hear! It’s always good to know that someone will appreciate what was once a forgotten piece.

Love them! They turned out beautiful. I’m team whatever works best. There are times when we really should preserve the historical integrity of a piece. But, I’m more excited about a piece not being in a landfill somewhere and having a new lease on life.

I have fone many of these transfomations, and have never had one I didn't have to make some kind of modifications to make them look good. I am working on a set now, but had to take off for 3 weeks due to carpel tunnel surgery, back to work in one more week. I really do enjoy your channel, keep up the great work.

Im all for your creativity or the desires (within your reason) of the prospective buyer. I recently watched a video by Jon Inman Furniture Repair Journal - Subject matter -How to tell the age of furniture by joint joinery. This was particularly interesting to me because I have a chifferobe that is over 5' tall, a matching vanity with the original stool and original huge mirror, that I wanted to figure out the age of. I am 69 years old. These pieces were passed on to my mother in 1952 when she married my father. They have not been refinished and are in excellent condition. The furniture was a gift from one of the sisters of my mother's grandmother who had herself received the furniture as a wedding gift from either her mother or grandmother. Nice, huh? My mother's grandmother was born in 1885 and died when i was 13 years old, so I knew her well. From what I learned about the joinery, the type used in the furniture, which I have now possessed since my mothers death in 2010, the pieces were made around 1860 or so. I believe that one should have as many of the facts as possible to make informed decisions. I will never criticize what one decides to do with his or her own property. And while I am not keen on putting lipstick on a pig (those who "restore" without repair) that certainly is NOT you!! You are something fierce and unafraid. Love your work!

Thank you for sharing that story. I love when I come across antique pieces and if I can to restore them to their original beauty. 😊

I am team: DO NOT PAINT ANYTHING GREY!
    Boring and uninmanageble!

It doesn’t happen often. This color is hard to capture in photos. It’s not quite grey, but I get it. It’s really pretty in person. ☺️
