Haven't been to Maui since the 1970s, but I still remember the area. I think our family stayed on the south east coast. Thanks for the update.

I survived the atmospheric river in British Columbia only to experience the same thing on Maui. Drove from Paia to Kaanapali on the Sunday afternoon. Scariest drive of my life. Sincerely hope everyone is recovering.

We should grow trees that help to soke up water not that difficult.

Ya, and those trees will be kept alive with all that regular Kihei rain they receive all the rest of the time..... uh huh.

@@Torrque also planting some willow trees can help prevent flooding in the future

We had no water in Kula for several days. Because the clutches flooded and carried debris breaking main water lines in several places. It would be nice if we could see aerial footage of where the main water lines were broken because it was quite an ordeal for people to not have drinking water or not have washing water for such a long period. Next time something like this happens please post some Drone footage from where the actual problems are. Like broken power lines and broken water lines so that we can see the heroic work the County's does in these situations.

I also didn't lose power, surprisingly.

It's an combination of developing, development, developers, county, state, federal agencies government and dry condition's that causes the damages that the Island has been faced with. If "we" would wake up and see that "we" is just the entertainment for the industry that caters to the visitors.
