There is not a whole lot more one can say that hasn’t been said about how good this is.
Congratulations Bill ! You worked long and hard on this one. It shows too. Thank you so much.

The vehicle sound reproduction on this clip is one of the best I've heard. Both the roar of the V8s and the windup of the 4 cylinder cortina...

Great memories of what was first class racing on an excellent track. Always admired Phi Barnes who, as a privateer with limited resources, always pulled above his weight on local tracks. Phil and John Leffler did their Morris Cooper S's proud.
Also it was so good to see the Geoghegan name back last weekend when Pete's grandson Max won in his Toyota in support races at Bathurst.

Your motor racing movies are a treasure! I love your personable, unique style of presentation, packed with info and comments. Only people who have done some video editing will have any idea of the work that's gone into this, let alone the audio. Good on you Bill, you've given those of us who were there a wonderful trip down memory lane, and those who weren't, a Movietone cameraman's look at what motor racing was like in the Golden Era. It was the best... and you captured it. Highly entertaining... thank you!

Well bill I'm lost for word's the first time in my life the footage you filmed all those years ago is absolutely fantastic. Watching this made the hair on my arms rise, just pure enjoyment to watch pure raw racing at its finest. You should send a copy to v8 super cars then maybe the penny will drop about real racing, I watched ten minutes of super cars on Sunday to put it in a nut shell boring past use by date. Thank you ever so much for sharing this race footage God bless.

bloody brilliant I like the way you matched the name of the car and drivers on the screen plus sound in the 68 touring car race I arrived in Sydney early in the year and was at the 68 meeting when the NZ s were there. . I remember we talked about how Fahey and the other,s would blow the Aussie,s away Boy were we wrong . As for Jim Mckeon?? { have I got the right driver}and the mk2 Cortina what a rocket ship. Motor racing in Au, Bathurst 500,, then easter meeting Oran park, Catalina par,k Dennis Gearys transporter on Paramatta road with race cars on board Thanks Australia JOHN ELLIS CHCH NZ

my best mate's dad was a flag marshall on the causeway, had access to the pits and great shots of Geogahans mustang, inside wheel of the ground accelerating out of the causeway, heaven for a15 year old petrol head from Newport Beach

The Bryan Thompson Mustang looks very familiar - he did a season with it in England in 1967 and I saw him race with it several times that year.

Correct. After buying the Beechey Mustang Bryan courageously sold his house and business, and he and his wife went to England to race it.

Some great footage there, 16 mm makes skl the difference.
Would have been awesome for Alan Mann racing to take over Frank Gardner and his 1968 UK championship winning Escort twin cam, I reckon he would have eon hands down .
    Thanks for the upload .

Wow what a gem your video. I was there that day but was disappointed that Neil Allen didn’t drive the Mustang. I think he would have run closer to Pete, Norm and Bob. He had really expanded his race car collection by then and must have had bigger plans employing his old rival Fred Gibson to drive in it. Shame the Terry Allen Camaro didn’t run that day as well it was the best race meet grouping of those classic cars of the day.
