This is great stuff, the quality of the footage is astounding. Even if I am on the other side of the world, it's a joy to see those classic Australian touring car races in vibrant colour.
Bloody fantastic bill that was an absolute joy to watch pure motor racing at its finest , shit's all over the v8 super cars crap the show now . It certainly brings back great memories of raw un scripted motor sport that lots of us miss. Well done bill for sharing that with us god bless.
Until now these images were just my memories. That race with Spencer Martin, Neil Allen and Kevin Bartlett was a classic. Along with the side by side Brian Muir and Bob Jane battle.
thanks BILL ,wat fantastic footage,my motor racing started at the FAR in 1968 with the formula i cars appearing.cant wait till the next installment, thanks again
I got drawn in the conscription ballot and was (to my surprise), rejected after they detected a back injury I had unknowingly sustained from a motorbike accident. Thank you for your service. Respect & appreciation. As a counsellor I had a friend who went over, but wouldn't talk. You know how that ended. Then his wife followed suit a year later, leaving 3 teenage kids. Most Aussies have no clue what the real, long lasting human cost was of that war on our service men & women.
Mate, you didn’t miss much but a bunch of loud noises and you got that on the track.😉 I’ve been to Australia nine times for the F-1 and and my favorite track Phillip Island Historic’s . We’re the same age mate so you’re welcome here in Texas if you have wish to visit. Plenty of room on the ranch.
It’s a sad thing indeed to have teens loose their parents that way. I retired as a homicide detective. I dealt many times with counselors who care and help. You sir have my utmost respect. Helping others with difficult times is not a simple thing. Sorry for the cut off reply before. I was summoned away quickly by the boss. 😁
@@olesarge1724 if you are coming back to the Phillip Island Historics anytime, let me know in advance so we can arrange a meetup. I am a part of the commentary team at that event these days.
@@BillsBuildandRace Mate, if we get through this COVID crap you’re on. I’m fortunate to have two Australian friends there and one lives a 1/2 kilometer from the track. I would be surprised if you didn’t know him. I really enjoy your films so much. You really see the action because of your camera locations.
Thank you so much for sharing this footage, Iv[e only ever seen stills of the E type. Elan Alfa battle!!, I own the Bill Gates S2 26R which raced at Warwick Farm in the 60's ounce or twice... any chance you have footage of it? It was red and raced typically with number 50 or 21.
A big thank you for doing these video's.
Brilliantly put together - thanks for all your hard work, Bill. This is a wonderful archive!

Fantastic loved every second of it. thank you.
Thank you for sharing... greetings from South Africa
many thanks
It brings tears to the eyes to see what we have lost . Hope there are lots more to come from this era Bill .
We have lost over TWO HUNDRED car race venues in Australia. Sadly more than enough material for my first book.
Wow this bring back memories to a 73 year old who loved the farm & Catilna in those days
Thank You

I think the only red Elan I've got is Paul Meyers.
