Absolutely criminal that Exodus wasn't part of the big 4. This album was, is and always will be a classic. Bought this album on day of release, still play it regularly and it's in my top ten metal albums of all time!
@@IJFlores Bonded by Blood was released before Killing is my business... business is good as well as Overkill's Feel the Fire yet Megadeth is in the big 4 and neither Overkill nor Exodus are in it. The big 4 is nothing more than the biggest early thrash metal bands to get mass exposure.
@@fifis677 - Did you even read what I wrote? Exodus’ major label debut was until 1989 with Fabulous Disaster, Megadeth’s was 3 years earlier with Peace Sells. Exodus’ Bonded By Blood and Pleasures of the Flesh were released by Combat Records, an indie label.
Gary Holt (guitars) of Exodus is a creative monster in the thrash metal realm 🤘🤘🔥 The band on this 1989 record was Gary Holt & Rick Hunolt (guitars), Steve 'Zetro' Souza (vocals), Tom Hunting (drums) & Rob McKillop (bass) Kirk Hammett (guitar) played on Exodus' 1982 demo... but quit in 1983 to join Metallica (Guitarist Rick Hunolt replaced him) Paul Baloff (R.I.P.) was Exodus' original vocalist... he did their debut album 'Bonded by blood' in 1983 (It was released in 1985) but was fired in '85 ... Rad! Thanks for the history! I knew that Kirk Hammett came from Exodus but the rest was new info for me. Cheers! This entire album is such an underrated thrash classic.
Gotta love Exodus. I saw them several times back in '80s (in the clubs of SF and Sacramento, yes we were all part of that metal scene and it was badass) during the golden age and they always put on a great show.
Yeah at this point Exodus is my favorite thrash metal band. I have listened to many others. And they do have good albums. But this group is one i can listen to their music all the time. Also like how they get along with a lot of the other bands. Probably makes it easier to set up tours faster.
My first show after I joined the service was Exodus and MOD at the Warfield in San Francisco 1988...crazy fun show...my peak of moshing, crowd surfing, stage diving. and...what a place to be stationed...center of the thrash universe.
From the same album as The Last Act Of Defiance, which you also liked a lot and started a good conversation about the prison system. Definitely my favorite album by them. Another great one to react to from it would be Like Father Like Son. Break your heart.
Kirk was only on Exodus demos, the last in 83 before they kicked Dave out and brought him in. Kirk brought in "Trapped Under Ice" which had another name and used to be an Exodus song before they had their first LP in 85.
My all time favorite Thrashers! Temp Of The Damned is a great album if you get a chance. War is my Shepherd is a must, Forward March and the live "Another Lesson in Violence" is an amazing performance
I have felt this about so many people..... Some of which I had to physically pout in their place. My wife knows my temper (I was a bouncer at a bar she used to go to) and knows what I'm capable of (assaulting/abusing/disrespecting women is a BIG trigger for me that usually led to violent results). Exactly, don't talk shit about my loved ones. Big mistake to make. I'm the same way about mom. Don't say a damn word about someone's mom. AT ALL. Saying something about my mom would get someone high fived in the face with a masonry hammer... Sorry.
Exodus was ahead of Metallica to start out but then they put out the album after this they for the first ones out of all the thrash metal bands to get signed to a major label and then their next album to on the major label is impact his imminent which wasn't that great of an album and that's what hurt Exodus from being in the Big four cuz they didn't sell more records than any other big four The big four was determined by how many records each band sold and those four bands out sold all the other bands so it's exodus's fault for just putting out a half-ass record when they were the first ones to get signed to a major label out of all the thrash metal bands and they fucked it up I mean I like some of the songs that impact of them in it but it didn't catch on this is the record this one in bonded by blood are there two best records but yeah one time Exodus was ahead of Metallica up to this point and then they lost it big time

The Big 4 isn’t just someone’s opinion, they were the first “underground” thrash bands that signed major label contracts before any other.
My "big 4" is Slayer, Metallica, Exodus and Megadeth.

Exodus is a badass band!
You guys are AWESOME!!!
The lyrics are fire; it is known. But, the riffs are absolutely volcanic!!!

Vin was totally digging this. It brings a tear of joy to my eye to see this as the self proclaimed original "Headbanging Soul brother"
Saw Exodus back in 1987 in Houston with Celtic Frost
Hell yeah Exodus! And a kick ass Exodus album too!
Dude you gotta do Blacklist !! Yes
Exodus was so underrated
Hammett's first band
This brings me back. Lots of great memories with that whole album.

Another song which has that 'Rap Battle' like sound is 'Liar' from Megadeth.
Megadeth song liar spits venom also. Dave Mustaine was angry

Exodus hasn’t made a great album since the 97 live album, but their 80s and 90s stuff (including force of habit) is sick
dont talk shit!
Check out for Payback by Slayer for a similar hate diss thrash song!
They should listen to blacklist by exodus

Exodus biger than big four
Kirk created Exodus, but left for Metallica before Exodus' first album was released.
Have a look (Aphrodites Child Four Horseman)

Kirk Hammett formed Exodus.
I wonder how many stolen Exodus riffs he brought with him to Metallica
@@budthewiser7294 Hey, if he wrote them then why not?. Kirk also gave Gary Holt guitar lessons.
@@budthewiser7294 if those riffs were his to begin with, did he stole them?
@@budthewiser7294 only a few actually. One is die by my hand part of Creeping Death and another riff that is in Trapped under Ice
when K.H. was in Exodus he SUCKED anyway; Gary Holt is a more talented guitarist that is why he played on Slayer's final album Repentlesss
