A great amount of those designs actually do look stunning. There are some exceptions and others don't make much sense, but overall this seems like a really cool and interesting looking hack

I've played this game, the Pokemon are certainly interesting. What made me stop playing it were the route designs: namely the unnecessary backtracking in certain spots. The traps as Callum called them. When you've got a game that changes so much about what you know about Pokemon already, adding traps to the routes to change even MORE was just unnecessary. Chances are, you WILL take damage fighting Pokemon that are completely unfamiliar to you, and having to go a roundabout way to get to the Pokemon Center or the Pokemart was just incredibly irritating. I know it's technically a minor thing, but it genuinely made backtracking in the early game absolutely miserable.
