It doesn't help that the ship has a comically small QT tank for its size. A Herc, by comparison, has 8 times the fuel capacity, despite being half the size lol
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help out and great video as always, was fun to try something new in the verse with a ship that sits around around just for this occasion!
I am always blown away at how beautiful this game is. I am also always pleased at how awesome the community is. Whenever I ask for help; there are always people that will come help me. Fantastic video and hats off to the guy that came to help. It was very cool to see the refueling process.
Yeah, so for future reference.. after docked, that's when the second ship goes into that ship maint menu on the mobi to request the amount of fuel they want. After that's done, the starfarer opens the nozzle and starts the refueling process. Then when it's done, you shut the nozzle off and disconnect, and all good. What was happening was since the reclaimer hadn't requested fueling yet but the valves were open, it was just dumping tons of fuel into space. Love your videos! Your org take recruits, or is it more of a closed friends thing?
so a buddy and I filled the Reclaimer to the brim, 420 SCU Plus the extra 100 16 SCU of CM. we made 12,120,000 credits, but it took forever to print out the grid, and then the 16 scu boxes. We are at it for 5 hours😢 so what you do make more but the time and effort to get that couple extra million credits is not worth the time and effort, Just keep making 16s and piling in there like some sort of third world shipping country. The only reason I can see to fill the grid is for RP reasons.
Yes ran out of fuel in my real ship a wile back, someone had syphoned fuel out of my tank, it was nearly a real disaster as the river was in full flow and my barge was drifting down the river sideways, luckily I had a mud anchor and managed to throw it overboard and get the craft going strait, then got to the bank and phoned a friend to bring some fuel out.
Had a Starfaer for over a year. 2023 was rough for the Refuel nozzle was busted (CIG) so nice to see it is fixed (is it in PU?) finally. Also refueling QT ships do not take much from just 1 of the external tanks. It is HYDRO that you will go through more. So for a full Farer/Gemini you should have 2 tanks for QT and the other 4 for Hydro. Also for quicker refueling use 2 tanks at same time. If you have the nozzle open TOO much you can loose fuel by filling it TOO fast to the ship (it will leak out like gas when looking at nozzle connection to ship) And setting a price is nice for the creds are put in a ‘escrow’ so if something happens while refueling and the ship needs to pull away..you will get paid only what was filled in the ship. So no body gets shorted cred wise (no over pay/under pay just pay for what fuel they got).
I hope you continue to make these great videos Kate, I enjoyed the entire video and learned a thing or two along the way. and the cameo's are always great people, like Trigger.
Thanks for all the videos. Me and my father in law just started playing a few months back. We look forward everyday in hopes of another video. I know it’s work but keep it up. See ya in the verse peeps
Fantastic video of life in the verse, I had no idea refueling was a thing. I've just bought the Corsair and decorated it with Quikflares to brighten it up 😀
I never had the chance of needing refuelling and I never owned or actually tried a Starfarere. I have to say I'm impress by the level of implication and the complexity or the process and I think, with Pyro coming, people will enjoy it a lot! Thank you for show it to us ''in action '' ;) Also, I cant wait for CIG to make some sort of gold pass on the Reclaimer, we need gun racks and such!
Great video and very educational. Just one thing puzzles me though. When you choose a jump location it tells you that you don't have enough fuel to go there. Did you just not notice?
Other than development update videos that is the first time I've seen refueling and it was at a much greater depth. Also, was Trigger's Starfarer the 2949 Best in Show edition?
Nice to see some refueling in the game again since no-one needs it at the current state of the game. Hopefully this will change in the near future with entering Pyro into the game. And hopefully the Starfarer gets some love 🙂
So, while my question isn’t directly related to the video, maybe someone here knows the answer. On my Vulture, I found a refuel access panel. It is port-side aft about 2M from the ramp door control. I can actuate it while on a landing pad, but it looks like just a receptacle. Should I ever need a mid-flight refuel, I’d need to open this panel for my rescuer to attach the nozzle…yes?
This is why when you run out of fuel in a car, you don't call the regional Shell refinery to send out a fuel truck that would otherwise be delivering fuel to an entire gas station, you just get a jerry can. Why Star Citizen thinks dispatching an entire fuel truck is remotely practical or fun, compared to a jerry can analogue, is entirely beyond me. Have the props team build out SCU-container and/or handheld refueling objects, and have a few FPS/mission guys build out a "handheld"/fps analogue of refueling for them, and those will be far more readily useable. Would also allow you to "overfuel" by converting SCU space into (inefficient, but convenient) refueling supply, and allows smaller ships to serve the role of spot-refueling other ships without having to invest in (and more importantly, subject themselves to the pain and torment that is using and moving inside of) Starfarers. Hell, the shitscape that is the Starfarer level design is alone more than sufficient justification for jerry cans.
You DO know it's possible to land on a pad and refuel the reclaimer at any station, even though it doesn't technically fit? Assuming it doesn't bug out of course.
Fram a watchability standpoint ... you should turn off your headtrackter when interacting with screens. Its real hard to watch the vid with it jumping around like it does when your on a terminal. EDIT: Ahh, I see you did that later in the vid :)
It doesn't help that the ship has a comically small QT tank for its size. A Herc, by comparison, has 8 times the fuel capacity, despite being half the size lol
haha if only there were a huge amount of unused space inside the reclaimer that could be turned into fuel tanks :D
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help out and great video as always, was fun to try something new in the verse with a ship that sits around around just for this occasion!
That was amazing man.
Thank you for giving us viewers a rundown on refueling. It was really cool that you were able to help.
Love the Life Aboard series. Keep it up!
thank you very much for watching talifrostlily :)

This kind of playstyle is definitely why I like your videos.. this series as a whole is amazing..
Huh I didn't realize the refueling system had all that custom interface, that was really cool to see.
so a buddy and I filled the Reclaimer to the brim, 420 SCU Plus the extra 100 16 SCU of CM.

Thank you for having this game loop and integrate the discord community :) Also thanks to Trigger to show the process and ship.
Thank you for posting a video with refueling. It's an awesome mechanic neglected and ignored for too long.
this episode was great to understand how the refueling process works, thanks for the real gameplay.

Taking the oversized camper van out for a family trip! The kids are restless and their game boy batteries ran out. Memories haha
So awesome seeing re fueling in action and on this series is awesome
Cool to see the process of refueling a ship by the Starfarer!
I thought the starfarer would be so much bigger in comparison...really puts the size of the reclaimer in perspective for me.
I hope you continue to make these great videos Kate, I enjoyed the entire video and learned a thing or two along the way. and the cameo's are always great people, like Trigger.
im a new sub for the last week, and absolutely love your content, keep it up, and stay safe :)
wow well thank you very much for the sub and for the kind words! :)
Interesting, and I guess for you guys an unexpected opportunity for a new experience!! Well done, and thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for all the videos. Me and my father in law just started playing a few months back. We look forward everyday in hopes of another video. I know it’s work but keep it up. See ya in the verse peeps
Fantastic video of life in the verse, I had no idea refueling was a thing. I've just bought the Corsair and decorated it with Quikflares to brighten it up 😀
I've never been able to refuel at Pyro Jump Station. Ever...and I had a cargo route there almost daily for a while.
I'm so happy refueling is working!
I never had the chance of needing refuelling and I never owned or actually tried a Starfarere. That was cool. Now I know how to get my Reclaimer refueled if needed
Other than development update videos that is the first time I've seen refueling and it was at a much greater depth.
Also, was Trigger's Starfarer the 2949 Best in Show edition?
Thanks for the refueling demo, I have been wondering how that works.
Great well edited series!
Another great video it was cool to see all the refueling that was great 👍
Okay, that's it, I want a Reclaimer.
And a Starfarer, I want to be the guy who rescues like that
Nice to see some refueling in the game again since no-one needs it at the current state of the game. Hopefully this will change in the near future with entering Pyro into the game. And hopefully the Starfarer gets some love 🙂
Good work. Waiting for the next one.
thats cool never done refueling either.
Cant wait for the day all these systems are perfected and i get to do multi day reclaimer salvage without landing anywhere
reclaimer look like that ship on firefly show
I haven’t taken the starfarer out since they first added refueling. Looks like there was a couple of tweaks to the console sine I used it last.
Really interesting process

Been waiting for this one since i saw the discord message!
the jump point stations are nice and cool but they dont refuel and rearm right now
Is this in VR? The movement is much different than Tobi.
Pretty cool ship name. How did you get it printed on the hull?
If you buy the 400$ stand alone, you can name it.
A shame that more people dont utilize this
So, if I understood that correctly, Trigger wasn't going to charge you for for fuel, but the ship wouldnt let you pump unless you paid?

yea jerry can for any ship that is huge as relcaimer would may as well be a fuel truck XD
Sweet
You DO know it's possible to land on a pad and refuel the reclaimer at any station, even though it doesn't technically fit?
Assuming it doesn't bug out of course.
You can see them doing that in earlier videos of this series. This time they just forgot they needed to. 😅
did y ever find an RP medic haha
I sound like a commerical
Fram a watchability standpoint ... you should turn off your headtrackter when interacting with screens. Its real hard to watch the vid with it jumping around like it does when your on a terminal. EDIT: Ahh, I see you did that later in the vid :)
Modern tourism
Wish the game would work, but runs like absolute dog shit. Cant get anywhere due to falling through the floors.
ship to ship refuel? what an useless feature
Really?
What else would you do if you run out of fuel?
Have you got some Heath-Robinson alternative? A very long hose from the nearest station? Pee in the tank? 😅
