Mike2804ford thank you. I agree, father is one in a million. The boat is something else too, very pleased with her. Looking forward to sailing and sharing the experience now!

She’s looking fab Si. Not a bad job by the ol’ boy doing the varnishing either!

Boat looks cozy and well built. Your Dad is a varnishing legend that table looks amazing. I’d be tempted to find a temporary crew mate and Go West round lands end and into the Irish Sea, great cruising and a pint of Guinness is never far away. Whatever route I look forward to your adventures.

Just come across your channel by (happy) accident, oddly I know a couple who have circumnavigated the UK in a Moody 33 & are I believe looking to head off to New Zealand in her in the next year or so! Look forward to hearing more of your adventures, tinged with a modicum of envy for when we can undertake such a voyage - Fair winds

Paul Holborn thank you. I’m certainly looking forward to heading off. Had my first sail yesterday (in the next video) and have been delighted with how she sails. Hope you get the chance too, and hope you’ll enjoy my posts.
      Thank you for following 👍🏼⛵️

You cannot beat the space of this for a 33ft. I am looking at a moody 34 next year. Because the double cabin is to die for. But I think it might be out of my range, just... I might settle for a Moody33. Equally amazing boats but bit smaller than the 34.

I`ve been amazingly surprised with how much space I have. I`ve been living onboard now since Christmas and I still have room to bring more of my stuff on board. Wonderful boats, and the supposed trade off between sailing ability and comfort is negligible. Enjoy yours when you get her

@@vagewalkingandsailing-mybr1117 was this your first boat? I find it strange how the smaller 31s are much more expensive than the bigger 33?
I much prefer the living comfort than the sailing performance too.
      How much headroom is there?

    • @vagewalkingandsailing-mybr1117

andysutils strange how the prices work with some boats. The headroom is pretty good. When I’m cooking I’m okay but I have to stoop as I move forward. I’ve also found it more comfortable living in the aft cabin which feels quite spacious (especially when changing)

@@vagewalkingandsailing-mybr1117 the after cabin is a big seller for me and i would also choose that as my primary sleeping accommodation. Sounds like we have the same demands for a boat. I was torn between a moody or a westerly. Although I've found the moodys quite more expensive than the westerlys. There is something about the moodys design and interior that just seemed to have been better built and thought out than the westerly.

andysutils funny, I was also looking at Westerly Ketch’s as part of my search. Just preferred the feel of the Moody. I hope you find one soon and can enjoy as I am

I was only thinking this morning surely its been a week since the last video :P Thanks for the update. How is the passage planning coming along? Are you heading West or East out of Falmouth? Also are you planning on installing Solar / Wind charging? And what about AIS? To keep me occupied on my Night shifts :P

    • @vagewalkingandsailing-mybr1117
      @vagewalkingandsailing-mybr1117  4 года назад +1

Funtime_Dad probably East as my preferred option. Can’t afford solar/wind this year so it’s going to be basic and old school-fun that way!!

@@vagewalkingandsailing-mybr1117 well stick Portsmouth Harbour on your places to stop. I can sort you a free berth for the night and depending when you plan on arriving I may have some spare solar or wind bits.

Funtime_Dad that is a really kind offer, and one I really appreciate. I’ll make sure to call in, even if only for a pint to thank you for even thinking of me👍🏼🍺
