I LOVE my Icon Airflite Helmet. The reason I bought it was for the unique look and I wanted to be able to motovlog on it. However, when I went to set it up I realized that the chin mount (using MotoRadd's awesome GoPro mount) set up gets complicated since the GoPro is located on the visor instead of the helmet itself. If you want to lift the visor, it pulls on the microphone cables that you have in your helmet.
Ive seen people mount the microphone on the visor or allow there to be some slack in the wire, but I want a clean set up this time. My last set up with sloppy so I don't want to have another sloppy set up. If you have any solutions that don't involve mounting on visor or leaving slack in the microphone cabling PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

I got the Airflite El Centro. And since I didn't wanna mess up with the paint or the visor, I bought an intercom with 4k camera incorporated. Freedconn and Sena have some pretty good options. So far, no messy cables, easy and secure clip on mount...
In my humble opinion, is not an issue with the helmet, is an issue with the camera.
Ahhhh the classic into…This into used to think was the coolest into I had ever seen…Had to come back & see what mount what you had for your icon airflite raceflite…I had bought a green & black one years ago with the silver face shield & wanna put my GoPro on it…Appreciate you man! This was extremely helpful.👌🏽💯

Get the sena and the sena bt backpack.. kills you wire problems and less weight on the visor

Bro I have this setup with the same mount but I get super shaky footage. Any suggestions. I even put double sided foam tape under the visor to help. It’s better, but still not that good.
Mount your GoPro on the side. Makes it so you can fully open the visor and no wire problems. Probably mount it on the right side since you’ll be in the left lane the whole time😂
Does this helmet break in? I bought one but it's tough putting it on and extremely painful getting it off. But once it's on, it feels good. A bit snug but I figure if it breaks in it should feel perfect. I wore it for 1h. Might get a larger sized cheek pads.

@@BalkanBiker Man mine was really hard to take off too.. but now after half year of use it's ok and confortable.
when buying icon products you need to add +1 or 2 to your size, I got XL on other brands, when I bought Icon Airflite 2XL is painful to get off.
Def have to break it in. I wore mine around the house for about an hour at a time before before I went riding in it

I realize this is an old video. But I found an stl file of a go pro mount you secure to the chin pad that comes off the bottom of the helmet. I'm printing it out right now and can let you know how it works after I use it.

@@michaeloliver4556 I did! Forgot to update this. Had to cut out the netting around the chin bar. Glued the printed price to that then snapped it back into the helmet.

Why not set up on the side? I was thinking of doing the side since id only use for crash purposes and the fact i'd wanna change my visor from time to time
If you’re using it for those purposes then the side mount would work perfectly for ya! I prefer the chin mount because I think it gives a better 1st person perspective in the vlogs and I don’t like the idea of having this monstrosity on the side of my helmet that would cause a lot of drag. @@FastLaneD yea it does give a really good view but idk if it affects the air coming in from that mouth part. Also when you're at a light or something you're gonna be lifting the visor up for more air, just something to think about from the viewers side. keep up the great content!

I just got this helmet delivered-fits true to the size and is a little tight..so don’t go down...you won’t be able to get it on..I bought medium as well

hey man, just got my first icon airflite helmet for almost 3 weeks now. i noticed that the visor (Fliteshield) gets easily scratched after a few short rides and its been raining recently and i get dried water droplets on it and also the fingerprint marks makes me feel like an OC person that wants to wipe my visor every time i get home.
How do you deal with the scratches and other stuff? do you just go on with it and move on or it's just the way it is?
Besides my little issue with the visor, overall the helmet is great all around.
The visor is definitely easily damaged so I try to be as cautious as possible. I’ll clean it (as well as the rubatone) after a few rides...but other than that I’m not sure there’s much else you can do. Thank you for watching 🤘🏾
Wax your visor.
Good visor care is also a big thing…. I have the dark smoked visor and I just take a microfiber cloth and soak it in hot water and lay it on the helmet and visor for several minutes to make all the bug guts nice and soggy. That’s a big deal there. If the bug guts are still hard and brittle your pretty much sanding your visor with bug guts. After the cloth has sat I’ll wipe away all the guts and dirt and then use a clean dry microfiber to dry the visor and helmet
