Hello Jessica, as I describied below, problem was in BIOS and HDD. Total charges for fixing my laptop around $60. If your HDD is in working condition, then it will cost to you maximum $10-20 for BIOS flashing.
Hi there, I have the same laptop and it won't boot me into Windows, it would just stay stuck on the black screen with the windows logo, saying ''Starting Windows''. I even took it into a repair shop and they tried to install a new HDD and reboot the laptop with a new windows 7 CD, but they told me it had problems shutting down and properly loading up. Any ideas what I should do?

Тебе нужно записать на чистую флешку 1 файл - BIOS.cap, версии биоса 1.07 или 1.09, отключить ноут от питания, вставить флешку, нажать кнопки FN + ESC, подсоеденить питание, и держа эти 2 кнопки, включить ноутбук, будет синий экран с прошивкой, потом перезагрузка и всё норм. Зайди на сайт acerfans в рубрику 5560g, на страницу 8, там есть решение этой проблемы.
I have followed the steps, but it does not restart or it shuts down, it is on the black screen all the time, when I turn it off I happen the same thing again
Это так работает если BIOS исправен и вы пытаетесь его обновить. If your BIOS doesn't launch then you need take it out and connect to another PC for load your version BIOS in it.
I have the same laptop, and also had similar problem like you. In my case, my screen was all black. HDD was a problem. I switched it, and it works now :D
does your laptop still works? mine when I press the power button only the blue light is on and the screen is complete black, the orange light next to the battery light won't even start to flash.
Azhary Amir actually i took my laptop to master and he flashed bios for USD 15. btw, you can flash on your own risk, tutorials you can find on youtube. for example: Howto: Flash BIOS on Acer Aspire One
i have watched the video. the bios file name is different. the only thing i do not know how to do is to change what file to what name. i've been searching every where in google still can't for the solition for 2 days.

I had the same issue, twice )) You can solve it by copy only 1 file - BIOS.cap, biose version 1.07 or 1.09. Visit acerfans.ru, category "Notebooks 5560 and 5560g", page 8, post #144, download bios.rar and put the fail out of .rar into your clear usb-flash. Use translatore to translate russian. Good luck!

Replace your bios battery/motherboard battery it should work fine after that

fan was working, in my case, problem was with bios & hdd.
