Hymn of a Broken Man is one of the most underrated metal albums of all time. New album is fantastic too! Glad this project has returned. Also, Chillswitch Engage is what you would use to describe Sean Townsend. He does beautiful piano renditions of KSE songs.

The new album is amazing. Doesn’t quite unseat Hymm Of A Broken Man for me (that album is just perfect) but still very, very good. I love how much Jesse’s and Adam’s voices have improved.

Time Of Grace released their first album when I was depressed and angry at the world. I'm so much more chill now and a stoner. This new album is sounding so chill and atmospheric, I adore this sound they're going with.

Really heavy album from Adam and Jessie is Killswitch Engage's first EP(and it's remastered version). This is album of grown up people, who don't have teenage-like anger, but more melancholy and sadness. As much as I love theirs metalcore side, this IS theirs best album. The guys definitely evolve, and become more grown up

Times of Grace first album The Hymn Of a Broken Man is the reason I am still alive today. Had I not found that album when I did, I would definitely not be here now.
It's rather strange how I listened to this at the time and didn't really take to it. Just listened to it again today via this reaction vid and properly settled in. Thanks, Nic! I really love how they're keeping up the almost reverent nature vids that they started on the first album. It really lends to their style. Lovely, experienced musicianship and that chorus is just incredible!
the biggest difference between Killswitch and ToG are the lyrics and the themes as ToG is meant to deal more with Depression and Mental Health and so on, which is why i was actually surprised when they released I Am Broken Too as KSE and not as ToG
I'm surprised they continued Times of Grace at all honestly... Seemed to me like Jesse and Adam's "let's try to make an album as good as Alive or Just Breathing again WITHOUT having to kick the black guy with a good voice out of Killswitch.. Because you left and all.. Y'know.. Jesse.." and then when Jesse joined KsE again I thought it'd be like welp, we're making music together again so let's go with the more popular band and GOODBYE times of grace. Although I do know that Tog definitely has more of a mental health and potential spiritual/religious theme to their songs.. But still.. They did not achieve AoJB status unfortunately.. Not even close.. The last album (I think) had some good at least. This song BLOWS. I haven't been this disappointed since All that Remains' first song with Jason Richardson. That was some hot garbage...

Not that it's a bad song, but every single song on the album resonated with me so much more than this one. That said, the album is an experience much like the 1st album. They aren't looking to write hit singles here. This is an album meant to be listened to from beginning to end to appreciate the full experience.
And every ten years or so a wild TOG would then there appear, and inspire me timbers to work on a modern western film that never did there went seent the dang ol' light o' day. Sum'birtch... Yarrrgh.
This group of people KSE (+ Mr. Sir Howard Jones) - their talent like has no limits. Like knows NOOOOOOO limits. They keep adding and adding new stuff in very different styles and ways showing only one thing - TALENTED as hell people blessing us with their music and art.
My favorite songs were always the slower/ more chill songs from metal / core bands. Even old killswitch, all that remains, etc always had either a slow song or instrumental that was always amazing.

Which is good, because it helps distance them from the inevitable KSE comparisons which really don’t make sense to me. I didn’t want this album to be heavier lol. As far as recent KSE goes, I love it. Disarm The Descent, Incarnate, and Atonement are all badass albums. They’ve gotten slightly more melodic, but it doesn’t bother me. KSE _is_ a more aggressive outlet for Jesse whereas Times Of Grace is not as intense, but more introspective and deep.

Some people are making comparisons between Hymn of a Broken Man and Songs of Loss and Separation, we have to understand that both are totally different albums, different proposal, this album is less heavier and more mature, both fulfill their purposes in a magnificent way. SOLAS only will completely pleasure someone that loves "calmness" songs.
That last chorus with Adam D harmonizing. His vocals are always on another level.
Chillswitch Engage instantly reminded me of Sean Townsend's work here on YT - he does piano covers of KsE songs and it's absolutely majestic.
