You're right but I think the issue is that his clutch plate was slipping and wouldn't fully bite. Might be from his clutch burnout at the track the other day.

WeekEnd133 Spoiler alert just for you, the clutch came out in pieces. So if I tried to float a gear and missed it wouldn't have engaged the clutch to get the car into any gear. Better safe than sorry on that one

This is why you don't tune your GT for 8000+rpms. It's not a GT350 or European, so stop trying to make your car rev like one, or your clutch and other parts will break
+WeekEnd133 everything handles the RPM just fine, the clutch needs to be upgraded to be able to bite that high. One thing many coyotes face is a sticking clutch at high RPM shifts. The next clutch will avoid that issue
Coyote's have been going past 8k, long before the gt350 came out. The Voodoo is Coyote based. Dumb me, forgot Europeans were so much more technically advanced. Must explain why this video and ones like it are shot in Europe, and most of the cars featured are in fact European. See, there are so many more fast cheap cars over there and the laws and such are much more conducive to modifying and racing cars. Must explain why the performance aftermarket revolves around Europe, and why street races are dominated by technically superior European Automobiles.

AKDMB the Voodoo is Coyote based? really!?! well if you consider a bare block of alluminum to start then yeah sure.
AKDMB I mentioned this exact same problem with coyote motors at RPMs out of its OEM parameters on another video. I said your clutch can stick...premature clutch were...piece of shit MT82 and clutch not designed for it and will fail. guess it did. Weakesr link MT82/clutch/shifter
let me tell you. im a AAA driver, the way it works is AAA hires individual companies that cover a certain area. during the day any given company can have anywhere from 5 to 30 drivers during the day depending on the size of the company and the area they cover. for us, we cover about a 5mi radius and its about 20 drivers between 7am to 7pm, and about 5 drivers between 7pm and 12am. after 12am its just me and one other driver b3cause its simply not worth having a fleet of driver to run 30 calls from 7p to 7a
im located in LA and if we get a call thats going to lets say, Palmdale which is ~70mi away, and im already in tow and we get a call going 15miles away, we have to delay that 15mi tow for 2.5 hours so that i can get back and our area isnt left alone.
you would figure "15mi tow you could knock that out in about 20 minutes" amd youd be very wrong. we dont know how easy it will be to hook up that car, if it will end up needing a flat bed, how heavy traffic gets, and how difficult it will be to drop the car and if the member has the arear ready to drop before you get there.
many times ive had to wait 10 minutes to hook up, then taken 45 minutes to get to the drop point 15mi away, and taken 20 minutes to drop and another 30 to get back to my area.
now imagine if in that hour and 45 minutes we get a call for a lockout with a baby stuck in the car but no one is available to run that call? or a flat tire call? or a gas call on the fwy?
to you guys it makes no sense since it seems like youre the only one on the road or the only ones that need help but it goes far beyond that.
anyway, just wanted to let you guys know, i gotta go run a call now.
ps. you had to sign a waiver because AAA doesnt cover modified cars let along anything lowered. just ask the lowrider guys how often we have to leave them stranded
Loving all the people commenting with hate to ford and mustangs in general, thank you guys for the traffic to the channel as all you are doing is giving the video more views. Scott's car will be back on the road in less than a week and stronger than before. Plus its al already extensively modified N/A Coyote that naturally paid the price of the power gains. Guys keep up with the great vids and make the haters rage all day. 👌🏻
POINT BLANK, If you run a car or ANYTHING hard, you will break things, The only person you can blame is you if it breaks while hot rodding, speed shifting or being a arse behind the wheel, it is mechanical so it can and will break, If you are having problems with a manual trans set up, go to a automatic, I understand that a auto does not sound as good as a manual but! it is more consistant, and better for straight line racing

Hay guys any manual trans can be shifted quite well without a clutch. Sense you had a clutch that was still engaged it's not a problem to drive it home even if home was say 100 miles away. Cool car I learned a lot keep it up.
I've have to drive to my tech school 2 times without being able to disengage the clutch because my clutch cable broke unexpectedly. The greatness of owning a foxbody, the good part about it though was the fact I could work on the car as soon as I got to tech.
Don't worry Scott! The Black Beast will be back and tearing up the streets and I just wanted to say that I love this show. This is a great work of art of Mustang Lifestyle.

there is always a timer on a stock clutch when you start adding good power!
I suggest that you make a note on gear/mph/RPM. something like 2k&3k RPM would be good. example 3rd gear/ 40 MPH/ 2k RPM.
You can shift without the clutch, it's getting it rolling that sucks! That's why some race cars were/ are pushed to get rolling. usually salt flats

Scott this would be a good time to remind everybody about all your mods and just what it took to make a 2015 up 5.0 mustang go 11.3 at 123mph I have not followed your channel very long but I am pretty impressed to see a new street driven mustang that fast I grew up during the fox body mustang I can tell you my first new one 1985 would have taken a full build plus a power adder to go 11.3 hats off to you looking forward to what you have in store for the future
Same thing happened to my '11. Stuck in 4th. Pressure plate essentially locked, clutch and flywheel were shot. Clutch disc was in 6 or 7 pieces.
That's what happen when you don't feed the pony it's daily nutritious crowd it craves lol

+Ashton5Point0h I feel the same. She's going to come back much stronger. That slip and the 8k shifts didn't go well with the stock clutch over time. Many other coyotes with that redline have sticking clutch issues

Been there before... Just said fuck it and no clutch shifted it all the way home. Transmission hated me by the time I got home, but I got home.
Hay Scott I'm no mechanic but I have a bad clutch in my 96 3.8 to keep moving I really just float through gear 2-5 to save my clutch

that- mt-82 life my clutch blew as well i dont know why you didnt put it in 3rd and turned it on it would have bucked but you could have gone faster then 20mph, thats what i had to do with mine
Stock clutch can't handle over 500 lb-ft of tq for very long. Plus, most, 70% of people, do t know how to properly drive a clutch.

aye, do you all not know how to shift without the clutch, or is it just not possible with your setup. my clutch master cylinder went out once, and I had to fight to get the clutch to grab enough to get into first. that's all I needed. the rest is clutchless and rev matching

Thanks. That was Scott on the Driver mod lol. Ford does say to dump the clutch on launch control instead of slip but it moves out much quicker on a clutch slip launch instead of spin and shock of a dump

Was it your clutch? I had the same issue. It turns out that my brake fluid was low, since the clutch uses brake fluid, no having this cause get the clutch all way down. I just add more brake fluid.
Apparently the mcloud rst is the best street clutch for these cars hope he got one of those

First thing I would of done was to upgrade the clutch, BEFORE doing all those power add-ons.

Im 3 seconds into the vid and Ima guess that the clutch is gone. had the same symptoms with my old stang. clutch went all the way to the floor. could only engage 2nd and 4th gear

+Somejerk Just under 40k. Very premature failure but it was expected to happen this year after the clutch slipped at the track during a 2nd gear burnout. As soon as it began to slip it was only a matter of time
Mustang Lifestyle 40k isn't to bad considering the abuse it's taken. The clutch probably hated life after the slicks : ), I say worth it still! I've been destroying tires every 5k at the moment. I keep telling myself I will be a little nicer to these ones and 100miles later that all goes out the window and it's back to business as usual lol. I've switched to mickey thompson tires and so far I like them. we shall see how they will hold up to my driving. I need to start recording my adventures to share.

I don't think you've ever heard of the term "cavitation" might want to beef up at least the oil pump on that "high revving" GT. It ain't no 5.2L voodoo.

Was that through your insurance co.? (towing) I would def complain. I had mine towed a couple times (requested a flat bed) but never 2hrs and no waiver request. I swimming in jelly over that car

A lot of racing, hard launches at the track, and it also slipped while at the track. High RPM of the GT350 Intake manifold does not go well with stock clutch.

Install a line lock buddy, real cheap and will save the next clutch while doing burnouts.
