Great list. My favorite lemon fragrance is actually a gourmand and not a freshie. It is Kerosene 'Unknown Pleasures'...smells like lemon poppyseed muffine YUM! Favorite bergamot in terms of smell is Acqua Di Parma 'Bergamotto de Calabria'. I just wished it lasted longer than 2-3 hours *sigh*
When I went home 2 yrs ago (where it’s always hot and humid, even in the colder months elsewhere), I only brought Guerlain’s Homme L’Eau Boisee which was complimented on me by my young(20+) grandniece. I could tell she liked it a lot and asked if she’d like to have my bottle, which she gladly accepted. She said it smelled great on her as well. But when she visited here recently I got her a proper feminine frag.
I was never much into lemony fragrances until I tried the Zara Vibrant Leather Cologne (formerly named "From Paris to New York") not because I was specifically looking for it but because of all the hype about Dior homme cologne and most reviewers say they absolutely recommend it. The Dior down side is its performance so I never bothered to buy it but when I heard that the Zara smelled exactly like it and with better performance I couldn't go wrong with giving it a try.Not only the price difference is ridiculous (20eur for the Zara) but I can confirm the performance is amazing in comparison. I've grown to like the lemony smell and now I absolutely love it. And if I spray my clothes it lasts all day! I was surprised you didn't mention the Dior on your review. For anyone liking these type of fragrances I highly recommend not missing out on this one since Zara tends to discontinue fragrances quickly.

Thanks for listing the fragrances in order of appearance and with time stamps! Big improvement👍🏻 Under the Lemon Tree smells like a cleaning product to me. Not a fan of Margiela fragrances overall, don’t understand the hype at all. 😕 I love the Guerlain Limon Verde EdT from the Aqua Allegoria line. It’s light, fresh, a hint of mint and perfect for summer. Just wish it had more sillage, it’s kind of a skin scent. But oh so beautiful!
That video that you did with Dalya prompted me to sample Christopher Street. After sampling I did buy a bottle and I'm guessing by this time next year I'll have to buy a new bottle. The only reason I bring this up is because it is one of the best lime fragrances that I've ever smelled. I was surprised that it didn't make your list. As always you give great reviews and you have given me some ideas to sample. Thanks for doing a great job.
I have enjoyed Bergamote 22 all summer! I love it alone or layered with other fragrances. I also wear Atelier Cologne’s Pacific Lime and Under the Lemon Trees. I have had a citrusy summer 🍋
Would you create an updated video of newer great lemon citrus colognes? Many of the colognes from this video are discontinued or nearly impossible to find now. I love the GOUTAL PARIS - EAU D’HADRIEN and was so sad when he ran out and we couldn't find it in stores anymore and that was years ago. Definitely appreciated this video and ended up being able to find 3 of the colognes that I would love to have my husband wear. :) TYVM!
Citrus is probably one of my least favorite scent genres, but I do enjoy them when it gets balls-hot during the Summer because they are the only thing to wear then it's not cloying - especially on these 100+ degree days here in Dallas. I'll probably never have a Top Citrus list, but I do really like the CK One Summer and Issey Miyake Summer scents...they're cheap, smell great, and refreshing. I also really like Mancera Lemon Lime, Creed Neroli Sauvage, and some others. Cheers!

It can be a tricky thing lemon and verbena..some can come off smelling like citronella mosquito spray! So that’s my fav lemon perfume ( I wear poison three seasons ) loccitane verbena summer ( but it’s not strong enough)or Chanel 5 or Chanel eau premier for summer…I want a lemon 🍋 that’s SWEET not like pinesol cleaner ?

My TAG is if you had to only choose one fragrance house which would it be and what would which fragrances within the house would you rely on for different seasons and occasions. Personally I've fallen in love with the house of Perfums de Marly. So far I have 7 unisex/male fragrances and two marketed to women. They are great and they could easily be my signature fragrance house. How about you?

Have you tried L'Occitane Verbena Menthe? I think discontinued and difficult to get hold of now but I preferred that over the original Verbena ( I own both). All day today I have been toying between buying Carthusia Mediterraneo and Goutal's Eau D'Hadrien. Then I discovered your video and now being swayed by Acqua viva. Tough choice when I could own both instead of just Acqua Viva. Have tried both your top MFK's and still preferred Pluriel over those two but that is a different scent profile.
I used to buy and wear the L'Occitane fragrances a log but lately not. I feel like they are not as good as they used to be. But once I loved the brand a lot! :)

Though female, I wear mostly masculine and unisex creations but for a few. 🎩 There was an open box on the shelf, and when I sprayed a little it drew me in immediately. It just smelled so good. I have been wearing it around home all day today. NY Gentlemen has been removed from the Brooks Brothers' website, (in addition to another of their originals, 1818, which is already commanding higher prices on eBay I have learned.) Not sure exactly what the scent makeup actually is. Fragrantica classifies it as an Aromatic, with listed notes of Bergamot, Verbena, Petitgrain oil, Mandarin, Carnation, Basil, Iris/Orris root, Caraway/Cumin, Oakmoss, Vetiver and Musk. Parfumo describes it as Floral-Green, with ingredients of Bergamot, Spices, Verbena, Grass and Woods. To round it out, Basenotes includes Bergamot, Verbena, Petitgrain oil, Mandarin, Carnation, Iris root, Cumin, Oakmoss, Vetiver and Musk. This creation feels like it has a niche quality about it. With each spray I get a tanginess which must be the bergamot showing through. Even though I am a strong Chai Lover and not an Earl Grey Tea Drinker, this particular scent has a depth that I really enjoy. The bergamot has a quality that is different than what I am used to, and wow I really like it. It also reminds me of something that is driving me crazy trying to identify from my teenage years, and it is not my beloved patchouli. 🌿 I seem to be picking up an undertone of hashish.😯😎 I love the spiciness which seems to have an almost incense quality about it, as well as a woody vibe. 🌲It feels very intriguing overall. Not a beast mode parfum, but a certain smoothness that "it makes my nose just want to go there, it wants more," to use your terminology, Sebastian. My biggest beef with citrus-based frags is that most of them dry down to some form of musk or amber or wood. I don’t want that in the summer during the day. The two I own that seem to stay citrus are Varvatos Artisan Pure and Lagerfeld’s Bois de Vetiver. Why can’t we have citrus that stays citrus? Are there any? Can somebody help with some suggestions?
Sebastiian, are you able to provide performance factor also ( Sillage, Projection, longevitity in terms of = hours ) this is one of the biggest criteria for me buy the cologne in addition to the notes itself ?
I like the video very much, Lemons are amazing, but I feel in recent years they are less in use in fragrances maybe because it reminds people of household cleaners. Can you say which of your suggestions are less "cleaner lemony" ?
lovely info - just wanted some help here. the Eau de Rochas happens to be among my most fav scents ever. 1 of the things i like abt it is tat the opening stays tat way till the end. i just love the exact lemony note its got. but poor strength. do u kno any other similiar scent but stromger ??

What would you make on the Tom Ford Sole di Positano or the Tom Ford Mendarino Di Amalfi? The description online seemed like it would fit in this lemon category, however it's not featured in this video. Is it because the smell does not actually smell like Lemon, or is it because you don't deem these to be part of the "Top 20" list? I'm looking to replace my Carthusia Mediterraneo because the it does not last. :(
OOh Meyer lemon is so yummy. It's like lemons with a touch of oranges and lime. I haven't found anything yet but if I do I'll certainly report back! :)

I'd add Vetiver d'Hiver by Armani. Very bright citrus, not much vetiver. Performance isn't great but the smell is amazing.

Sebastiian, are you able to provide performance factor also ( Sillage, Projection, longevitity in terms of = hours ) this is one of the biggest criteria for me buy the cologne in addition to the notes itself ?
I was expecting to see Clinique Happy for men. It was one of the most citric fragrances i ever enjoyed.
He said he did an orange fragrances list.
I like the video very much, Lemons are amazing, but I feel in recent years they are less in use in fragrances maybe because it reminds people of household cleaners. Can you say which of your suggestions are less "cleaner lemony" ?

1 of the things i like abt it is tat the opening stays tat way till the end.
i just love the exact lemony note its got.

My most worn citrus/lemon fragrance I've worn this summer is Mon Numero 9 by L'Artisan Parfumeur
They have a new dove +care lime smelling body wash. I want to know if you know any colognes that smells like it. I like the limeade type of smell it has.

Every list I see like this I never see a mention of Simone Andreolis Malibù Party in the bay. That is the best lime fragrance I have ever smelt

I really love Eau d'hadrien and Under the lemon trees. I wore both this summer ! (I say it to the past because in the North of France it's almost autumn now 😅)
What would you make on the Tom Ford Sole di Positano or the Tom Ford Mendarino Di Amalfi? The description online seemed like it would fit in this lemon category, however it's not featured in this video. Is it because the smell does not actually smell like Lemon, or is it because you don't deem these to be part of the "Top 20" list?

OOh Meyer lemon is so yummy. It's like lemons with a touch of oranges and lime. I haven't found anything yet but if I do I'll certainly report back! :)
