Full Carbon Fiber, 780 hp Chevrolet C3 Corvette Restomod | Build Story: C3-R

- This carbon fiber Chevrolet Corvette C3 is an off the scale restomod build, that is not only unique in being entirely made out of carbon fiber produced using "vacuum infusion" technique, but it also features some clever solutions like an active aero, probably never seen before in an old American sports or a muscle car. Rather than a common LS swap, the ride is powered by something a bit more special; the 755 HP supercharged 6.2L LT5, which is the most powerful engine ever offered in a Chevrolet production vehicle (C7 ZR1). Naturally, the chassis and the suspension components are beefed up considerably to handle that kind of power, while the stopping duties will be taken care of by 16 inch Brembo rotors, sourced from an SLS AMG. The 22 inch wheels with 295/30 & 335/25 section tires complete the unique stance of the car. The attention to detail in this restoration is simply outstanding and the details are too many to list here. The whole project, as well as the custom touches like a double bubble hardtop with an opening rear window are all the vision of one man; Uğur Işık, who is not only a successful entrepreneur but an offshore boat builder/racer, whose CV is too long to be completely covered here…
Things kicked off, when he noticed the body panels were not perfectly aligned in his old convertible Stingray and in a nick of time, the project blew into this crazy pro touring restoration, mostly carried out at his home garage!

Not my style but no self respecting car guy can deny the amount of dedication, hard work , and skill that was put into creating this car and for those reasons I applaud the builders. Very well done.
Very well said Sir! Thanks a lot for watching and commenting.
My same thoughts.
👍😎
This is an awesome example how people with talents and money invest in unique creation. Respect and appreciation! What a great documentary! Stunning heroes, both the car and its author!
Couldn't agree more! Many thanks for watching and your nice words. :)
I absolutely love this car, it looks like a modern batmobile and has the power to match.
👍😎
Now that’s a restomod !!! Well done ! Wish I could find more in depth reviews like this. Very very nice and beautiful result!! New subscriber !
Many thanks for your nice words, appreciated big time! 👍👍
Lots of effort spent on this beast it’s very obvious, custom molds interiors even moving instrument panel woww
In a word, insane! :)
Appreciate your patience for the channel wish you success 🙏🏻
Many thanks for nice wishes and support, appreciated big time! :)
Back in the 70s I modified my 71 C3 for competition in my shop with L-88 FIA flares and had the choice of a Greenwood Can Am package. Really appreciate your CF interpretation of the Greenwood Corvettes that raced at LeMans, Sebring and Daytona back then. Congrats on a fine result!
👍😎 many thanks for your kind words.
just love the cooling vents on the rear..!!..'the true success to any build is heat managment' (Chip Foose)..
Good point. Lots of thought went into this build really. Many thanks for watching and commenting Sir.
I'm just amazed of some of the things people are doing to the older cars what a piece of artwork that you can drive LOL
👍😎
Awesome build! Built very safe, stable, and cool looking.
👍😎
Great job. I love it.
Thank you! Cheers!
when I bought my first 'adult' motorcycle in 1985 (a Honda 600 Ténéré)..the first thing I did was to 'Super-Trapp' it..!!..oh yeah..
Way to go Sir! 👍😎
I've ALWAYS respected hard work because it's the detail and imagination that is fascinating. You don't have to like someone's design BUT good work is good work.
Very well put Sir! :)
Hi there , How are you guys doing, I have been fixing cars from the last ‘70’s and, I have always admire the Corvettes ! Especially the C-3 body design , I am in Brooklyn, NYC , where we have the famous Motion Speed from back in the ‘60’s and my favorite year is ‘82 year and this car is 1 of the most amazing Corvettes I’ve ever seen ! God Almighty Bless you guys ! Keep on doing it! Fantastic job !
Hi Eric, many thanks for your nice words, really means a lot. I will let the owner know about your compliments. Motion Speed were really something back in the day. Good ol' times really! Take care and God bless you too. 👍😎
That sounds like a beast as well
Yep, monster! :)
I'M 68. Back in the day I owned a 78' Silver Anniversary. Many of your mods are fantastic but the entire package looks gaudy.
Great, insightful video of an amazing build.Kudos to the creator.
✌😎
What an amazing car !!! So much time and effort invested in creating something so unique. I was privileged to see where it started from and now seeing all the details at the end of the project. Thanks for this episode.
Many thanks for watching and commenting. Your support to the channel is much appreciated. 👍
A lot of work went into that vette. Really nicely executed. I'd enjoy seeing that at a car show.
Many thanks for your nice words. Hope to shoot it on the road or even better, on the track in the near future.
İnanılmaz hocam gerçekten inanılmaz. Daha ne ile gelebilirsiniz derken daha iyisini bulup geliyorsunuz
Teşekkürler izlediğiniz ve güzel sözleriniz için. :)
Could have pulled it all together with a “Super Pursuit” mode button 😉
Indeed! 👍😎
Now thats sweet wow
👍😎
In just one word, unbelievable.
Indeed Sir! Thanks a lot. :)
That is the nicest car I have ever seen!!
Wow! Thanks a lot! :)
Beautiful!
👍😎
well. . . I like the interior
BEAUTIFUL!!❤❤
👍😎
Badass. Was hoping for C6 style fixed headlights.
👍😎
Awesome 928 in the garage as well
Yep! A manual with a tan interior, a rare car. :) and many more cool cars...
Amazing job. Hats off!
Thanks a lot! :)
çok iyi olmuş ellerine sağlık belgesel tadında ;)
Çok teşekkürler. :)
What a good idea!!! What a car!
Amazing build. Thanks for watching and please stay tuned for more updates and road action.
In a single word amazing!
👍😎
Amazing job! I'd like a tour of the other cars you have.
Hopefully I will have the chance to shoot his other cars as well. Many thanks for watching and commenting. :)
Can't say the aesthetics speak to me, but damn impressed with the work nonetheless. Wish I had the skills to pull something like this off. Then again, I heard that practice works better than wishes in this regard. 😂
👍😎
One BadAss Corvette!!!
👍😎
I like the fact that he did not touch the engine..too many builders end up with an awful daily factory stock motor because they wanted more power but when put back together after opening up the engine & changing major factory parts & set-ups and dyno ECU tunes ,engine problems started...especially the LT5...when it comes out of the factory it is literally perfectly tuned..just like the LS9..factory ECU + motor doesn't need anything more..maybe going from auto to manual..but even there problems might start to show-up with electronics...
Fully agreed! It's got huge power, drivability and reliability as standart. Why risk it all for a few more horses that you'd probably never need.
That hood destroys the lines of the car. It reminds me of the tumbler…. I’m sure the practice of carbon fiber development has given a great many lessons.
Looks like a Batmobile.
Indeed! :)
Amazing, so impressive
Thank you! Cheers!
It seems a little high off the ground. Reminds me of the movie Corvett Summer, with Mark Hamill, before he was Luke Skywalker. It's a beautiful car for sure. I'd be nervous to take it to the track, for fear of cracking the carbon panels.
👍 wow, brought back memories, I had watched that film! 😀 many thanks for watching and commenting.
StarWars came out in '77. Corvette Summer came out in '78. But I agree, it looks a lot that Corvette.
👍😎
Just found a time to watch this monster. The project itself was really mind blowing. Up until this one, I was thinking that I have the sickest Vette in the town :) Now we all have this.. Putting an LT-5 into this small carbon, very-light weight Corvette is huge!
Is there any chasis upgrade like Detroit speed or sth ? If it has, the owner will be able to run under 2.25s at Istanbul Park I guess..
One more stunning work Burak! Keep going man..
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! The chassis is stock but reinforced; in case it is not up to handling all that power, the owner will probably do something like you've mentioned. :)
The raised hood is a little too much and something should have been done with the front bumper to modernize it. But looks great !!!!
👍😎
should of had the tail light piece indented instead of out still a work of art though!
Many thanks for watching and commenting. 👍😎
This is insane bro, greeting from Ukraine, after war ends, I`m coming to you to make something like this.
Hope it'll end soon. Peace bro! ✌
THE original is still My nr1
I think the owner would agree. But as an owner of numerous Vettes over time, he wanted something different this time. Many thanks for watching.
@@WheelNuts tank you,am a new sub from Norway,got a -69 black stingray My self.
Glad that you've subscribed, many thanks for doing so. I've been to your beautiful country a couple of times and you've got some super old American muscle cars there. I can imagine your 69 is no different (my favorite year by the way)
Im curious in what company did he manufacture the body through? Like where exactly did he get the carbon fiber parts from?
He uses boat builders as far as I remember. He has taken molds from a body kit he used to have.
Ah thank you I’m planning a c3 build too and I just had the idea of a carbon fiber body on it and came across this I appreciate the response
Good luck with your build. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
a real batmobile
Indeed! :)
Can you send me some pictures of the roll bar you built for the car? I am looking at doing something like that in my 69 Convertible
Will try to ask if I get to see the owner. Many thanks for watching.
Love the car but im disappointed theres no coffee colored wood finish or leather seats in a clasic car
Many thanks for watching and commenting.
Better exhaust and a modern zr1 style interior would be perfect.
👍😎
😳😳😳 OMG!
OMG indeed! :)
What is the weight of the car? I bet its closer to 1100kg Ye?
Appreciate the amount of time put in this vette, but i cant vouch for the looks.
Ordered flares 4x5" from CIC and a blueprint ls427. Cant wait to be done with my project one day.
The car is just finished so there was no time to weigh but I wouldn't expect it to be that light because of the roll bar, chassis reinforcements and other equipment. Your project sounds cool, good luck! Hope you'll finish it soon. Many thanks for watching and commenting.
looks like a bag of glued scissors ✂️
Too Much. Great work, just too much
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Cheers to the creators! I'm laughing at the uppity gatekeeping losers who are complaining about it.
Very well put Sir! Many thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated! 👍😎
One might like it or not but it's worthy of respect for sure.
Very well said, thanks! :)
What brand of rims are those ?
Will ask the owner.
De ajencia Americana cuanto cuesta modelos resiente como se llama el carro
Yeah as we've just met Batman and his mobile, where's Robin :)
😅
It was cool from the side profile then it turned to a wtf 😬 cool motor though
Needs to drop about 2 1/2 inches..
👍😎
I loved the car! But all that work and makes the car automatic?! Why?!! Should have a manual transmission!!
Thank you very much watching and commenting. It is not built to be a fully hardcore machine but the owner wants the ability to be able to cruise in the heavy traffic as well. He's also got a big stereo system in the car. So despite the batmobile looks, it's got a bit of laid-back attitude. :) Cheers!
Way too much going on there
But I still have respect for the creativity
👍👍
i love the c3 but geesh i dislike that you made its bodykit look more of like a newer Corvette
It looks like a Dodge Viper
In terms of presence, you are right I guess. :)
porche design on the back of the car
🤔
It’s a bit overdone. It seems like everything is cobbled together without a vision of finished product. Still, I appreciate the workmanship and dedication.
You said you were going to show us some beaver, all l seen was a camper.
It was the first time it rolled out and there were still things to sort out, so there was no "action" sadly.
I was willing to give the guy a break when he said race car, because they don't have to look good, but then I saw the tail lights. my happiness would never allow that kind of money spent to result in something that looked like cooling was an afterthought, preferring a custom design that didn't look like a body kit that had to be butchered to make it work, for that kind of money.
Looks like Darth Vader is about to force choke a punk while crushing it on the circuit
the extreme buldge on the hood ruined the beautiful lines from the side profile
now that ive seen the front profile it looks ugly too, the lines ruined lol
Yours is stock I suppose?
@@WheelNuts are you saying that you assume someone has a vette because they think your vette is ugly? whats the coection lol
I just asked. By the way it is not my car so no offense taken. ;)
2 minutes of music is 90 seconds too long.
Thanks for bearing it (hoping you did 😀)
i hate it. that hood is huge. concave flairs and c4 rear end. those tail lights and exhaust tips are not it. i like the early c3s with the chrome bumpers
Awesome car, I like the concept and design, but, imo it’s ugly. It sits too high. The wheels are to big, the hood is way too tall. Kinda reminds me of all these crossover SUVs we have, not like a sleek sports car.
Many thanks for watching and commenting.
I've had my '69 427/435 for almost 52 years. I drive it almost every single day. I would no sooner do WHAT YOU DID to my Corvette than I would stick my face into a pot of boiling water. The idea that certain things "CAN" be done by spending enough time and money has been proven a million times. Unfortunately, there isn't one square inch of this car that is appealing to my eyes. It is so OVER-DONE and GAUDY there are no words to describe it. The car isn't pretty. It isn't beautiful. It isn't sleek. It just looks like a few clowns went apeshit with carbon fiber and tried to screw up every part of a C-3 Corvette. My big questions are ... who would drive this thing and where exactly would you drive it to? It certainly isn't a race car. No self-respecting person would want to be seen dead driving this thing to a restaurant. People are going to gawk at whoever is driving this machine and wonder WTF. So, in the workmanship department it does look pretty good. As a final product...not so much!!
Well Sir, each one to his own as they say. Congrats on having your 69 for so long, it's a keeper. The builder had more than one Corvette along the years and apparently, he wanted to try something different. It's not everyone's cup of coffee in the looks department for sure but he hasn't done it to please others. He is happy with what he has done and what we think is irrelevant. However one might think about the looks, thought and effort that went into many great details can't be denied. Many thanks for watching and taking your time to comment. Regards.
Lol get a life.
@John Butt Hurt the only opinion that actually matters is the owner of this particular Corvette and he loves it.
It really is as simple as that. :)
No masks…..
its beyond fugly... such a waste of a c3
It’s cool even though it’s the ugliest Corvette I’ve ever seen.
👍😅
I don't like the hood it looks like 💩 but hay it's my opinion
Sorry, but no.
This might be the ugliest car I have ever seen. From the exterior to the interior it seems like this cant just be a case of having absolutely horrible taste. Its like at every turn they asked themselves "what would be the ugliest thing possible we could do here" and then did it on purpose.
Having said all that... the engineering and fabrication is very impressive.
Wheels are absolutely disgusting
Whole car is gross honestly
I stopped as soon as I saw the mask.....wake up people
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth 🤢
A bunch of swoop and flare, vent, high rise, over done mess. Another words as far as Corvette standards, this looks like shit.
I see Corvette as a mule here, man wants a over engineered track car and gets it, Corvette is just a step in process
Each one to his own Sir. Thanks for watching.
👍👍
The C3 is one of my favorite cars. I HATE what you did to it. It's tasteless gaudy garbage. The automotive equivalent of an attractive girl getting so much plastic surgery that she looks like a freak.
Now that you've let it all out, how would you feel, if someone were to say similar things about something you've spent so much time and effort on, not to mention the years and dollars? Everyone has a different taste and if the builder is happy with it, what we think about the looks is not important. But in any case, all the crazy details are there, for us car enthusiasts to enjoy. Thanks for watching.
@@WheelNuts If it's any consolation, I'm sure Will.I.Am would love that car.
I am just a messenger who has a huge respect for the builder. For the record, I am someone who shies away even putting a small spoiler on my car. Cheers!
literally i was just saying the same!
Ugly......I'm guessing it hasn't had any meaningful track time.
Stop destroy c3 body
You look like you can be related to Zora-Arkus Duntov the Father/Legend behind Corvettes, are you Russian?
At least geographically close, Turkish. :)
@@WheelNuts Wow many of you look very eastern Slavic. Keep up the great content :D
