Hi everyone!!! If you’re a rising first year watching this, WELCOME!! This is what my dorm looked like. I wish I got a desk hutch like that versus the much smaller one I got last year! I'm a rising Junior and I'm planning on filming a dorm tour when I get settled in next month, but I wish I did one for the last two years! You will cherish this video a lot in a few years, oh the nostalgia! Loved this video! We have very similar dorm style, at least furniture style!! I'm also reading Girl, Wash Your Face! Happy summer!

Loved this video! I’m in the middle of packing and finding decor for living on college this fall! The housing layout I have is me and three roommates each get our own room in a little apartment, so I’m super excited to decorate a room that’s fully mine even if it’s tiny 😊

I’m an incoming first year in old dorms so this was super helpful! Where would you recommend hanging your towel/robe right after using?
hi!! so exciting! originally my roommate and I put an over the door hook set on our main door but it didn’t always quite close (?) so halfway through the year we actually put an over the door mirror on the door (great for pics!) & we put the hook set on her wardrobe door. you might need to play around with it but you could definitely easily put it over your wardrobe to hang dry out in the open so everything stays nice & fresh (and not moldy haha)
hey, I'm a first year moving into uva this weekend, and I was wondering where you got those shelves in your closet from?
hi!! the shelves actually came with the wardrobe! you can take them out too if you want more hanging space (I did that during the winter) but they are super helpful for storing extra stuff!

Hi! I'm part of the class of 2023 and I'm so excited to go to uva! My dorm is Bonnycastle and ik both Bonnycastle and Dabney are in the same Mccormick residence area. Do you know if they are similar in any way? I'm trying to figure out how much space I have relative to your dorm lol. Loved the video!

I love your bedding and you organized so well! I was wondering was your fridge and microwave in front of your AC unit and did it cause any air flow problems? Thanks!
thank you!! it definitely impacted the airflow a little bit, but because our beds were lofted, it wasn't that bad. BUT I will say that i felt like i was sick the entire year (which is college), but i think that because of having ALL those furniture pieces in front of the ac unit, it caused a dust buildup which i think heavily contributed to me feeling sick. i've seen people build furniture pieces so that the ac unit is exposed, etc., but make sure you aren't covering the bottom vents of it !! learned the hard way lmao

love this video! I'm a first year & will be staying in hancock this fall - were you able to change how high your bed was lofted? if so, how? thank you so much- I love your channel!!
ahh YAY so exciting! yes you can change how high the bed is lofted! I actually raised mine a little bit to make room for stuff underneath and my headboard (lol) but a lot of my hall mates either kept theirs the same or even lowered it slightly. definitely bring a mallet for move in day instead of waiting for the one that they provide - makes it go a lot quicker!

Wow I’ll be a college freshmen next year and I’m already planning my dorm expenses....... I DIDNT REALIZE THE CLOSET SPACE IS THAT SMALL 🤕😔 my clothes all together takes up two 9-drawer dressers and my whole walk in closet

Hey! Just wanted to tell you that your room is so cute! I was just assigned a double in Weedon. I’m really worried because I basically have no info and the uva website is kinda misleading. Do you know anything about Weedon? Thank you for your time!!
Gabriela Hernandez I knew a person in weedon last year! It’s pretty far, but the pics online show that it’s renovated so it should look like mine. You might want to call and see if it has AC bc I thought it didn’t but if it’s renovated it might! It has the best dining hall super close and the bus system runs through there all the time so you can get around pretty well!

Can you get into uva with a 3.8 gpa?
yes!!!! obviously a gpa, a test score, etc. cannot guarantee you get in/don't but a 3.8 is really good!!
Megan Kelleher what are some tips to get into uva?
@@hallevaden2437 definitely have as high of a gpa as you can have (def not the only factor but it's assumed that you have good grades), work REALLY hard on your essays (both the common app & UVA essays), and make sure that your activities are very concise, yet descriptive of what you do!

when you join a sorority you get a "big sister" who kind of guides you through the process of college!! i actually ended up having two bigs and i LOVE them! next year i will get a little too!
i was under the impression that you live in the sorority house when you’re apart of a sorority. i guess i have a lot to learn in one year lol.
@@kathleenlane1049 hahaha it's different at every school, but here at uva you can choose to live in it 3rd year. i know at a lot of southern schools tho it's sophmore/junior year
