The shark must’ve attacked him by mistake because, ya know, that’s the only reason experts say they attack people. And because no part has been found of him or the man from 2023, the sharks must’ve mistakenly eaten every last bit of them. It’s amazing how sharks have lasted for tens of millions of years when they’re so mistake prone.

They obviously do! Not to mention that have great eyesight and their bodies are basically swimming sensors. So what is it now? Signage is need in that carpark informing surfers and swimmers that the great white sharks frequently visit this area. Signage needs to be setup in a way that warns of resent sitings that day or the last week, like a flip over sign etc. Not everyone will see the warnings on social media. Council needs to lead the way and make this suggestion happen. We can't stop all attacks, but we need to be proactive in trying to prevent it happening again.

I think that part of the reason sharks are getting more used to being around humans is due to the studies carried out by scientists. I am not against that because it helps us understand them better, but they feed them with blood and bait to attract them and sharks are getting more used to interacting with humans than normal, losing their fear and realizing that they are naturally curious animals as well.

God bless all the Appleby family who would be existing one minute at a time right now. Something has to be done, I have no idea what really, but something. Our State Government and Councils have to get more pro active onto this now, develop some ankle and wrist technology that shocks them away before they even get close, or technology on the bottom of their boards, or, apparatus that emits painful electrical impulses that upset their sensory signals. Maybe there is a smell/odour that repulses sharks that can be spread on the surfers and boards.
This is happening way too often now. Maybe we need to build more wave pools around Australia near beaches and using pumped in seawater but away from the ocean. At least there can be no man eating predators in wave pools.
