How so if you don't mind me asking? I can see Xotic pricing themselves over Suhr and very close to Fender CS now, at least in the UK. But second hand prices on eBay prove them not being so favorable in keeping value.
@@nosjourneyman In tone and vibe. In a few comparison reviews the Xotic strats impressed me, Fenderish with a bit more body and sustain and less modern sounding than a equal Suhr. I had a chance to play one a few years ago in a shop. Unfortunately I didn't have the dough for it at that moment. Probably the resale value is less good than the 'big' brands, as Xotic is not as well known as Fender and Suhr. Just my 2 cents.
Hi Jon, as usual nice demo, beautiful music. Yes the tones of this Strat are superb. And this flamed maple neck is gorgeous. Among my "too many" guitars, my #1 is my Fender American Vintage 62 3 tones sunburst with rosewood fretboard from 2012. This Xotic Strat looks like a very good Fender Custom Shop.
XSC Pro is more modern : locking tuners, trussrod nut on the head instead of the heel... also roasted maple neck is lower grade on the Pro (not AAAAA) but it is mostly cosmetic with no impact on tone.
Beautiful chunk of wood! One thing, though, that ALWAYS irks me. WHY do expensive, great looking guitars insist on putting those cheap, ugly looking pickguards?? There are so many other nicer looking material options. But yet the majority keep on putting white (or black) pickguards. I know it's petty and aesthetic, but it makes a great looking guitar even nicer or custom when you replace it. My gripe of the day.
