To not find sympathy for Viserys is truly wild. The fact that even in this decimated state, his reign still remained peaceful is genuinely remarkable. He's also not a bad man. He's human and flawed, but he's one of the few characters on this show who actually TRIES to be fair and just. Everyone likes to say it's hard to root for anyone on this show, and while that's true for certain characters, Viserys was someone they wrote particularly human. And I get that it's a bit funny how long he managed to survive, but to actively wish him dead with zero sympathy is a wild take.

Love you guys. Love this channel. But it's abundantly clear that the only people even remotely interested in giving this show a chance are Adam and Agustin. Hector clearly has no interest in even attempting to watch in good faith, and by cracking jokes at every dramatic or emotional beat he's spoiling the show both for the other two and the audience who enjoys these reviews. The reason I watch is for the opinions the insight and knowing you have all worked in the industry so you have a different perspective than most which I enjoy. But for me the joking became obnoxious and at times adolescent and unlike how I’ve seen all of you act in the past. It was jarring as a viewer. This feedback clearly upset all of you as you have commented several times on the newest videos but in the end it is your channel you can do whatever you’d like. Just didn’t make sense to me why you’d keep watching. I personally stopped watching these after this episode. But will continue to check out the channel.

I'm Finding it very differcult to continue on with the reactions to this show, I'm all for having different opinions on characters and plot points etc it's what makes discussing a show that more interesting and worthwhile, but when you're just shitting on the Show and clearly don't have an interest then that's a different matter altogether, I'm not saying you have to love it no one is going to love everything, but when Hector in particular is making non-stop Shitty / jokey comments during the whole thing it doesn't make for fun or interesting viewing, It's really strange because none of them do this for any other show, even if it's a movie review or watch along that they had no love for they still make it professional and give valid reasons for the dislike so why is this so very different, I know it's pointless asking now when they reacted to this show sometime last year the episodes are over and done with, but I really do hope if they do plan on reacting to season 2 that they do so because they really do enjoy the show, and those that don't kindly withdraw.

Love this show because it's more muted, intimate, and poignant than much of the original. But it seems all the usual media literacy is absent. Even just in this episode: - plenty of prior opportunities to appreciate Ramin's score per house - significant misunderstanding of Viserys' character and Paddy's incredible performance - treating incest/infidelity as a message rather than tool of the lore -- missing the good/bad of most greens/blacks (Daemon, Rhanaeyra, Cole) - missing interesting patterns (how Rhanaerya moves through the crowd when seeing Daemon) There are layers to what happens (especially having seen some of S2), so I'd be excited if there were a bit of a turnaround in the reactions, but right now I'm not sure exactly what's being absorbed.

To be invested in a world you need to let go of your notions about it, feels like you are already biased and judging the characters based on your personal beliefs. You want to judge the characters on the actions they commit in the situation they are, the world they belong to. This whole franchise is about incest, so maybe lets move on from that fact and focus on how they are telling the story. Will still watch the video (i like too) and hope for better
I can understand that Hector hates Daemon, he is a taste that some will never aquire, but Viserys while flawed is a decent man. So I don't understand the Viserys hatred.
This was one of the best episode of the show till now. The throne room scene gave me goosebumps. George rr martin himself praised the actor for bringing soul to the character which he himself didnt write in the books

This is one of tge most well written shows out there but you can't tell us basic plot points. You missed and glossed over the throne room scene entrance and before that hus daughter telling him that he had to fight for her. Leading to the throne room scene. You guys are better than this.

Daemon helping him with the crown was ad libbed but it was going so well they kept the camera rolling and kept it in. I thought that was pretty cool. They were all, right in the moment.
Viserys is a tragic character. He was a shit king, but he tried, it just wasn't meant for him. Paddy Considine acted his ass off. A fantastic performance. It's a bummer you didn't really get to "see" it but I understand the barrier of this show is looking past your own morals and boundries and accepting it for what it is.
@@hectorminator Wasn't Alicent 17 in the show and by the time she married she was 18? Still considered young territory in our modern times of course, but back then she would have been considered 'of age'. Even in the real world, farless this fictional one. Remember, Rhaenyra was 14 at the beginning of the show and when she became 17 she started getting marriage proposals as well? So I think that was the official age for marriage. In Laena's case the marriage between her and Viserys was to be political so she wasn't expected to sleep with him immediately due to her age. Viserys obviously turned Laena down because her age was offputting to him. Though Alicent was also young, she was already of marrying age so he chose her.
Kings and Queens in Westeros ruled like that of the monarchs of the medieval times. Meetings, parties and conquests. And like in real world, a wife of a king cannot rule next, though they can if their son or only daughter's still a minor and would have to relinquish it to them once they're not in the minority anymore.
Hector, abortifacient tea was a very common abortion method in medieval and colonial times. It’s not some weird fantasy thing. Women used recipes involving rue, catnip, pennyroyal, and birthwort herbs. Fun fact, Benjamin Franklin actually published a very well-known, at the time, recipe for abortifacient tea in one of his books.

@@hectorminator I’ve watched for a while now. The reason I watch is for the opinions the insight and knowing you have all worked in the industry so you have a different perspective than most which I enjoy. But for me the joking became obnoxious and at times adolescent and unlike how I’ve seen all of you act in the past. It was jarring as a viewer. This feedback clearly upset all of you as you have commented several times on the newest videos but in the end it is your channel you can do whatever you’d like. Just didn’t make sense to me why you’d keep watching. I personally stopped watching these after this episode. But will continue to check out the channel.

I'm Finding it very differcult to continue on with the reactions to this show, I'm all for having different opinions on characters and plot points etc it's what makes discussing a show that more interesting and worthwhile, but when you're just shitting on the Show and clearly don't have an interest then that's a different matter altogether, I'm not saying you have to love it no one is going to love everything, but when Hector in particular is making non-stop Shitty / jokey comments during the whole thing it doesn't make for fun or interesting viewing, It's really strange because none of them do this for any other show, even if it's a movie review or watch along that they had no love for they still make it professional and give valid reasons for the dislike so why is this so very different, I know it's pointless asking now when they reacted to this show sometime last year the episodes are over and done with, but I really do hope if they do plan on reacting to season 2 that they do so because they really do enjoy the show, and those that don't kindly withdraw.

Love this show because it's more muted, intimate, and poignant than much of the original. But it seems all the usual media literacy is absent. Even just in this episode:
- plenty of prior opportunities to appreciate Ramin's score per house
- significant misunderstanding of Viserys' character and Paddy's incredible performance
- treating incest/infidelity as a message rather than tool of the lore -- missing the good/bad of most greens/blacks (Daemon, Rhanaeyra, Cole)
- missing interesting patterns (how Rhanaerya moves through the crowd when seeing Daemon)
There are layers to what happens (especially having seen some of S2), so I'd be excited if there were a bit of a turnaround in the reactions, but right now I'm not sure exactly what's being absorbed.

To be invested in a world you need to let go of your notions about it, feels like you are already biased and judging the characters based on your personal beliefs.
You want to judge the characters on the actions they commit in the situation they are, the world they belong to. This whole franchise is about incest, so maybe lets move on from that fact and focus on how they are telling the story.

This was one of the best episode of the show till now. The throne room scene gave me goosebumps. George rr martin himself praised the actor for bringing soul to the character which he himself didnt write in the books

This is one of tge most well written shows out there but you can't tell us basic plot points. You missed and glossed over the throne room scene entrance and before that hus daughter telling him that he had to fight for her. Leading to the throne room scene. You guys are better than this.

Daemon helping him with the crown was ad libbed but it was going so well they kept the camera rolling and kept it in. I thought that was pretty cool. They were all, right in the moment.

Viserys is a tragic character. He was a shit king, but he tried, it just wasn't meant for him. Paddy Considine acted his ass off. A fantastic performance. It's a bummer you didn't really get to "see" it but I understand the barrier of this show is looking past your own morals and boundries and accepting it for what it is.
Rhaenyra's brother and son are both named Aegon
I enjoy them slowly, reluctantly getting pulled in by the writing and story. The characters can be unlikable but tell a very good story.

@@hectorminator Wasn't Alicent 17 in the show and by the time she married she was 18? Still considered young territory in our modern times of course, but back then she would have been considered 'of age'. Even in the real world, farless this fictional one. Remember, Rhaenyra was 14 at the beginning of the show and when she became 17 she started getting marriage proposals as well? So I think that was the official age for marriage. In Laena's case the marriage between her and Viserys was to be political so she wasn't expected to sleep with him immediately due to her age. Viserys obviously turned Laena down because her age was offputting to him. Though Alicent was also young, she was already of marrying age so he chose her.

Kings and Queens in Westeros ruled like that of the monarchs of the medieval times. Meetings, parties and conquests. And like in real world, a wife of a king cannot rule next, though they can if their son or only daughter's still a minor and would have to relinquish it to them once they're not in the minority anymore.
